I have never worked with a company so awful. No one here speaks to eachother yet everyone is involved in your case. One person gives you an instruction and then a few days later someone else calls you to tell you it cant be done. Nothing was more stressful than buying our home with this company. We were sort of forced into working with Alejandro and his team and we hated every second. If our realtor didnt just jump right in and go straight through him we definitely would have went somewhere else. I wish we were given the opportunity to look elsewhere. In fact about 2 weeks away from closing we strongly considered terminating with them and losing our dream home. It was realized that working with Alejandro and his team was just to much for us to deal with and it was coming down to just not being worth it. Again one person says something the other says something else, information being left out of conversations, it was all absolutely ridiculous. Our realtor really stepped up at this time and took control of it so that didnt happen. You think it all ends on the day you sign... it doesnt, Its still continuing. We contacted them about the 1st mortgage payment, because we didnt get a bill. Alejandro said it was in our mortgage package and to do that so we found it and did what it said. Now, the payment we made well in advance, cannot be accepted. So the instructions we were given by Alejandro and mortgage package are now incorrect according to another person there. All this a week after the payment was sent in. They are very unprofessional, and they do not care about you. We were not even told about possible ways the state and bank could help because he didnt think we qualified. I was so disappointed to find out we could have met with the State and bak to discuss options best fit for us, but we were a week away from closing when i found all this out. They dont care about you and your family, they care about the final outcome... money. They have 0 respect for clients. They do not care that you have job they want to speak to you when they call you. If they dont get you, you get texts and emails until you answer. Something needs to be completed yesterday but sent it to you today and it needs to be done immediately. I would not reccomend anyone doing business with Semper or any affiliated company they work with, including Realtors who reccomend you use them. I'd shop around for better rates and pricing as smaller mortgage companies don't always have better rates and pricing on mortgages. I do not like working with incompetent people who either don't know or care about what they are doing. The Mortgage Industry is one of the largest so I'd recommend trying to find one that knows what they are doing and not full of crap. read more

Oh my god, the absolute worst company ever. They're a typical "if I could leave a 0 star rating I would" type of company. They are impossible to get in touch with and the dopes I worked with were beyond incompetent!!! No one ever knew what was going on, they clearly didn't read my emails and asked for the same information 5 times - no exaggeration. I even uploaded my information to their app/website and rather than check it would email me directly for it, then lied and said they didn't see it. This doesn't sound bad but it's pretty bad when this behavior, this lying and laziness goes on for months! I am so dissatisfied with this company I cannot express it fully here. These guys are the worst, so unprofessional, a waste of time, and treat people like they are idiots when in fact, they were the ones always making mistakes, sending my information to the wrong people, repeatedly getting my name wrong, and get this - SENDING MAIL TO THE WRONG ADDRESS. You closed the loan on my house you morons how could you not have my updated address? Any of these positive reviews are probably employees trying to boost their ratings. read more

Blood pressure too low? Hate getting communication in a reasonable amount of time? Love micro managing things to make sure they get done? Use these guys! Horrible experience. Only good thing I can say is the loan actually closed and was the rate agreed upon but communication was non existent, many things were missed and had to follow up months after close about missed items. If you want to deal with a level of incompetence that will make the home buying process 100 times more stressful, be sure to work with Michael T. This supposed "expert" gave us one piece of misinformation after another, doesn't listen to what is being said, and bases everything off of assumptions. He is extremely incompetent and makes you jump through extra hoops unnecessarily due to his inability to comprehend what he reads, if he even bothers to read it. From telling us our deposit to the sellers was non-refundable (not true, but he "missed" that clause in our P&S agreement) to telling the owners of the other half of a duplex that had been condoized that they were not qualified to answer questions regarding a "condo association" consisting of the owners of each half, it's been one disaster after another. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. After our pre-approval, our realtor was warned about this company by her colleagues that Semper is a nightmare to work with. read more

My wife and I were purchasing our first house and we were nervous, and uneasy about all of the unknowns that come along with it. Luckily for us Dan Fogg, and the team at Semper were there to help. Dan was more than accommodating, answering any questions (trivial as they may have seemed), and really explaining to us in great detail every step of the process. Semper's loan process is like a ride down a bumpy road in a jalopy held together with wire and duct tape. Our take on the Semper style is sloppy, stressful and filled with costly mistakes. We needed a rehab loan to restore a beautiful historic home and they were unable to "architect" a home loan for us. "The process" was filled with errors, stress, sexism, lack of transparency, and high rates and fees. "The Skinny" is Semper lacks honesty, disregards and ignores women, and has absolutely no consideration for the needs of the customer. read more

I cannot tell you how many lenders I have tried to do business with in the past 8 months! I was about to give up and walk away from my home and its mess of variable interest rates rising for no reason, other than to blame it on our economy getting better. I was never late and yet it kept increasing. Then one day, I received an advertisement from SEMPER Home Loans. I am not one to call companies that solicit me because you just never know who you are calling. But I was desperate. I picked up the phone, ready to insult the agent and heard a very caring individual on the other end. Instead of feeling like I had to challenge this person (His name is Michael Glover), I began to cry like a baby. I explained our horrible nightmare of a situation to him and he said not to worry and he would do everything within his power to help us. I was still not a true believer, but thinking I would have to walk away from our home and our near perfect credit would be shot anyway... what additional harm could come if this guy was not genuine. Something inside of me told me I could trust Michael and what he was saying to me. (Usually I am one of second guessing myself.) Within 15 minutes, I had a list of things I needed to send to Michael, most of which I already had set aside when trying to work with other companies. I called for a pest inspection, which passed. I sent Michael all my required documents, he had an appraiser contact me in two days. After the appraiser left, Michael called me in a couple of days and said everything was good to go. I took a look at the closing docs he sent me in the email... I was still sceptic, I would have to admit. After all... those are just estimates and I was SURE the docs information would change once the Notary arrived. Well, the Notary did arrive and I had my red pen out as well as my highlighter, prepared to deny the loan, since everyone else had attempted (poorly) to hide additional costs. But to my surprise... nothing had changed. It was exactly what we had agreed to. I was pretty excited. I couldn't believe I actually found a lender who was complete honest and with me 100% of the way! His processor, Robert equally professional and on target was amazing also. I sit here today, in tears... but tears of joy. I don't have to walk away from my house, I am saving a bunch of money and my rate will NEVER go up again. And I believe Michael when he says he will always be available if I have any problems in the future. I am also happy because Michael can do several types of loans, including assisting my daughter and son in law with their first purchase. Thank you so much, Semper... for sending me that invitation to call and try for this refi, and employing Michael and Robert. You have no idea how much you have helped us. SEMPER for LIFE! read more
