I found a few antique jars that I was looking for and my partner found vintage cameras she had been looking for. The service was very hands-off and it was easy for me to look around. My partner was disappointed that more stands were not available. But the pricing was fair and I would go back to look at their items again if possible. read more

Rude people will literally kick you out for bringing in a quarter of a bottle of water. They won't even greet you first. I've spent thousands of dollars at place the years. Since pandemic they've become rude and inhospitable and I will not give them another dime. read more

I have been shopping here for years, and they have always been militant about their rules. Upstairs closes at 4:30, not 4:31. Etc... it's just a turn off. I shop for antiques to relax. It's not a relaxing environment because there is always some type of drama and the people that work there act like they will die if your still in the building at 5:01. I'm not sure why this place has so many poor reviews. I've been shopping here for years and it's my favorite antique store in the area. They opened the basement semi-recently so now there's even more selection to choose from. So many people on here are complaining about the no drink policy. There is a sign posted right on the front door about no food or drinks. The rules apply to everyone. Don't get so bent out of shape when the staff ask you to take your drink outside. They don't want their merchandise destroyed by careless customers. read more

Rude staff. My adult daughter had an iced coffee and we were rudely told to leave. I mean I get it but there is a way to say it, plus it's not like a 5 year old running around with a drink. Not to mention the town was having some type of hot chocolate event and most of the stores had free hot chocolate to drink while you shopped. Please, if you have the brains of a popcorn kernel, do not visit this place. I feel sorry for the customers who ensure the abrasive and abusive nature of the elderly clerks there. The two are nasty, passive-aggressive, and in general act like customers are am interruption to their "work." They do not seem to appreciate the people there, and one (the man) actually argued with my sister about his tactless behavior. I felt bad for him, though, as perhaps he was doing his best. Nevertheless, the entire activity felt like I was babysitting special needs students with low emotional intelligence; it seemed the pair had an inferiority/superiority complexus (manifold of dispositions with different comorbidity factors) that made me feel I'll at ease. EVERY time I go to Seneca is a bad experience for me. This is the third time I've been there---and it will be the last. read more

Shopkeepers are extremely I'll mannered. My adult son was carrying a closed bottle of water in his hand. The shopkeeper (tall, older man with white hair) was clearly on a mission and ran up on him to abruptly blurt out that he had to take his water outside. No worries Seneca Cannery, we'll take our business elsewhere. Every other shop in HdG and the shops in North East are definitely more welcoming for both people and pets. There seems to be a common theme in all of your reviews. Take the hint. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I love old glassware and have been looking for new lamps. After coming across 3 different vendors selling mammy dolls / picaninny memorabilia I had to get out of there. I know racist old white ladies used to collect this sort of thing, but that's not acceptable in 2018. read more

Rude staff at entrance desk. We are mask wearing enthusiasts. However after being inside for only 5 mins, we were snapped at 4 times for there being a small space between our nose and mask. There were at least 5 nice ways to ask us to secure out masks. We came this day to spend some $$ on antiques in town. We left after 5 mins due to the constant mini corrections on how to wear our masks. Bye! I feel bad for all the vendors placing their stuff here and getting no sales.... now we know why. There are lots of choices in this town. We spent our money elsewhere and so should everyone. read more

I'm not an expert on antiques, but this place is a fun way to spend the afternoon. So many cool things to look at! As others have said, the prices are good; I bought a neat looking bracelet for 4.00 and a beautiful Amish doll for 10.00. Can't complain about their prices. I think I would've purchased more items had I been able to get into the cases easier, but I didn't want to constantly ask the shop keeper to open them for me. read more

Love this place! I can spend, and have, all afternoon here. I've purchased dishes, lamps, jewelry and even an aluminum Christmas tree from the '60's! They're real serious about their rules -- check out all the signs when you come in! Don't try to go upstairs after 430! read more

While there is an incredible selection of items here, I would never go back due to the rude employees and lack of customer service. As I shopped I saw and heard multiple unacceptable interactions between staff and customers. First, the male employee complained to a customer about the bad Yelp reviews they were getting but then said it didn't matter because if customers don't like the place then don't come in. Then as I was on my way to the register I heard the female employee tell a customer that they sold 5 of their items to another customer. I had watched this guy take items to the register multiple times to be held while he shopped because they were fragile. Rightly so, this customer was quite upset, especially when he was told they were really sorry but the other customer really wanted the items. That's when I decided to not purchase my items and left the store empty handed along with the other customer. What these employees don't know is, in addition to the small items they were "suppose to be" holding at the register, this guy had picked out 3 pieces of furniture to purchase. This place lost 2 customers today, along with 2 huge sales. Oh and make sure you follow all the rules or you'll give the male employee high blood pressure (his words not mine). There are mask and social distance signs all other the store, to the point of annoyance. And the "pets welcome" sign means your dog can walk around if they have a service vest, otherwise you must carry your dog (but of course dogs are welcome). Seriously, I heard the female employee tell a customer this and his dog was at least 50 lbs. Spend your time and money elsewhere, this place needs to close permanently!! read more

Nice antique mall in the antique rich town of Havre de Grace. This one is huge, with a large variety of vendors and price points. Some bargains and some beauties! The Cannery is the kind of place you either like or don't, it is what it is. And we like it! Am always disappointed when I'm coming through town during their off hours. You can spend hours there or 10 minutes. We've picked things up there many times and the woman who is probably at the register every time is so nice as we fumble with our new objects, the opposite of the grumbly type often at these kind of places. They've always been super nice to our children, who were pretty young when we first discovered it. We don't consider a visit to Havre de Grace complete if we don't make it to The Cannery! read more

We will NEVER shop there again. After many years and MANY purchases, my husband went in today looking for an art deco cedar chest for me. As we are from Annapolis, we had no idea they were closing at 1:30 today, when he went in at 1:15, a woman said, "we're closed sir." My husband merely asked why for future reference so he doesn't make another three hour drive up there for nothing, She replied: "Because we are." Because we are? Really? That type of ridiculous, pretentious rudeness was COMPLETELY unnecessary, and if that is what passes for customer service, it's no wonder online is taking over. read more

The Cannery is great fun. Lots of antiques vendors, with ever-changing stuff, from knicknacks through furniture and everything in between. It's a great place to shop for gifts because there are tons of unique things. The location is nice too; it's near the water in a scenic, walkable area. read more
