    My watches they STILL have

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Absolutely the worst business I've ever dealt with.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've spent the last couple YEARS (since 2023) trying to get them to respond to me about a pile of pocket watches that needed repair. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their voicemailbox STAYS full and they've failed to respond to a number of messages sent them via their "Contact Us" link.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I note they've not had a good review on Yelp since the last decade; sadly, they got my watches just before all these negative reviews that resemble the one I'm writing now. I don't know what's wrong with these people, but what they're NOT doing constitutes theft. Avoid. Doing. Business. With. These. People.

Beautiful display of suspended pocket watches at Stephens & Stephens Clocks!

We took my mom's treasured Danneker banjo wall clock to be repaired here over the weekend. We were pleasantly surprised to walk into a room filled from floor to ceiling with clocks of all sizes and shapes, all ticking away-- it was really a lovely display. Even better, we had arrived on the hour and got to hear a little "2 o'clock show" of the various clocks chiming. There was also a beautiful arrangement of older pocket watches suspended in a cabinet. They correctly identified my mom's clock on sight, gave us a receipt, an estimate ($350 to $400 for a complete take apart, clean, and fix), and told us it would probably take about three months. This is fine with us, we certainly have some time on our hands, pun intended. We look forward to coming back in 3 months or so to Stephens & Stephens Clocks in Havre de Grace, Maryland!

Brad did great work on our Vienna clock. I was very impressed at how particular and beautiful it was.

Never drop your clock off here, you will never get it back and if you do get it back things will be broken that where not originally.

I took a cuckoo clock here to get an estimate for repair. The clock worked but would occasionally…read morestop running so it likely just needed to be oiled or adjusted. An older gentleman took the clock and told me to come back in twenty minutes. Exactly twenty minutes later I went back to the store and I asked him what the story was. He took one look at me and the expensive handbag I carry and said "$450." I was shocked. I asked him what was wrong with the clock. He was unable to provide me with an explanation other than "the guts need to be replaced." This is not an antique clock that is a 100 years old. It is a German Hubert Herr clock that was purchased brand new, eight years ago. Anyone that works on clocks that knows what they are doing will be skilled in taking the clock apart and only replacing what is necessary. Because the clock was running and he failed to provide me with any sort of explanation as to what was wrong and why the price was $450, I felt he assessed me as a person who has unlimited means and therefore was likely to pay the $450 without further scrutiny. The clock cost $400 eight years ago, brand new, when I purchased it. For what he wanted to charge me I could purchase a brand new clock from Hubert Herr in Germany! Upon taking the clock back home, I did not see any signs of the dust on the clock top being very disturbed from handling and examination. I question whether this man even opened up the clock at all! He also did not remove the weights from the bags I had put them in, which tells me he did not hang up the clock and test it, either. The bottom line is that I felt this person saw this as an opportunity to take advantage of a woman and there is no way I would take anything to this business for repair!
