When interviewed by State investigator, I wanted a veteran counsel in the room with me, he shut down the meeting and claimed "it just must be too soon and you are too messed up to talk". Wowie-WOWWOW. I urge ANYONE CONSIDERING NSRS TO FIND A SAFER FACILITY FOR INPATIENT CARE, ANYWHERE ELSE BUT THERE.

Who is he to determine that another doctor's prescriptions should be destroyed...without telling me!?! They destroyed 10 full bottles of unopened medication without my consent. I would have had family pickup the medication had I known it was going to be destroyed. Shame on them.

While I understand you were busy during the summer with people on a wait list and trying to get them with a therapist, what I didn't like was that no one called me to give me any updates as to when someone would call me. Every time they gave me an approximate date, that date would go by and no one would get back to me. Then I would call again, and get no response. Finally someone called me back and said "based on my review (I assume on Yelp) they have decided I should go somewhere else for therapy". All I was ever asking for was that someone keep me posted on the timeline for expecting to be assigned a therapist. I was told one thing, and then that changed to another time, and then that date passed. When a prospective therapy client is in urgent need of help, that is no way to treat them (by rejection). I may have been impatient, but also I think CIP should improve its communication with its prospective clients. After all the cost share fee (mine was $45) is still alot of money if you pay weekly. I think CIP is very unprofessional, and cares more about their organization and their interns and staff than about the people they serve, who they also charge for services

Then the s**t hit the fan and I learned that talk therapy appointments were doled out like gold. I could get in to see someone once every 6 weeks or so, but weekly? Only if I wanted to call with my weekly crisis and beg to see a therapist du jour, retelling the whole ugly story anew each week until, whoops, time's up! Sometimes in the midst of a storm there's a calm moment and you can see clearly enough to say "I'm sorry you went through all of that schooling only to work for an organization that thinks it's acceptable for you to provide appointments once every six weeks to people in crisis." Then you listen to the dead silence on the other end of the line and then you act. CIP was there for me when I needed them. My initial call was met by an intake counselor with an ear for listening. She then set up the weekly appointments I felt were necessary. It's not a perfect situation: As others have noted, these are therapists-in-training. All sessions are audio taped (with your prior consent) and reviewed after the fact by a licensed therapist who then discusses what they hear with your trainee. On the plus side however, you actually may benefit by having both a licensed therapist and a trainee working to help you (albeit, the licensed therapist is in the shadows, never to be seen by you). You also benefit by getting actual weekly therapy appointments with the same therapist in training. Further, you get all of this on a sliding scale which is based on your personal income and circumstances. There's some paperwork to complete but it's not onerous and prices seemed reasonable (I was paying $65 per session). I'm happy that I don't have a current need for CIP's services but I'm not foolish enough to think that I might never need them again. They perform a great service for the community and I hope they'll still be performing it again, when the need arises.

People complaining about the hours but the staff, if they are off at 2, they want to be OFF. People wait to the last minute and the line be just the door! I started at that clinic 19 years ago I've gone to Richmond, I've gone to Concord (when it was open). Dr quismorio was my first and only doctor when I became pregnant and chose to stop chasing shadows in the streets. I'm happy to have a guaranteed well that doesn't make me nod off. One that can actually be reduced 1 mg at a time if I choose to. For a long time I was on a 1 mg per week taper and I didn't even feel it a bit. You can't do that with pills. My only complaint, and it's not even with them, is with the fact that I have to go every single day for one dose which is an exercise in tedium, but that's my own fault cuz I missed too many days or I wasn't clean. We don't even have to pay for the gas to and from because of the blessing of being able to get transportation now. Thanks to methadone I feel normal,and my pain from scoliosis, stenosis and rheumatoid arthritis is managed. And as for cities like Concord, who " didnt want 'THOSE kind of people'", that having a MMT clinic, (paid for by the medical insurance that the state brings)?---Well, when you don't give "THOSE" kind of people options? You get mailboxed. You get your car broken into. Get parts SAWED off your car! You get crime. So consider that next time you vote. And if you choose not to vote? But there were also a core group of long term ones , I can honestly say this place is a 5 star facilty , They care they call to check up on you and the groups are very confortable , its was hard to find a in person group and I was VERY blessed , I can not reccomed them enough,

Unfortunately all staff at Marin Mental health were only interested in harrassment,, like phone calls telling me my daughter was dead. Illegal entry (breaking and entering) to vandalize and steal were their usual pastimes, while being paid and acquiring credit hours for their post graduate degrees. Typical items destroyed included our cars, my sons personal care products, his computer, fax machine and other electronics in his room. Food items, like the carton of milk he bought on his way home after working a 12 hour shift at BestBuy each day. He really needed it for breakfast. Our microwave oven, some expensive cookware too. My personal credit card, life insurance, bank info, and answering machine was broken to pieces, microwave oven vandalized. In my bedroom and bathroom Marin Mental Health employees stole my new (1st pair) of contact lenses, mineral makeup for persons with skin cancer and art supplies. These types of incidents occured on a daily basis most weeks. We both were new to the area. I was trying to obtain appropriate medical care for severe anemia w/no bone marrow stores, severe arthritis and cancer. This is the way our tax dollars were spent! How many people do you know who get paid, plus advance their higher education to commit felonies? Besides those in prison ofcourse.

They also screwed up my disability claim- I received a letter from the state of Ca saying they are not accredited and they denied me. I emailed Avery Lane numerous times and was brushed off- the couple of times they actually replied. I plan to report them- just a public warning to get things started. don't waste a dime on these people- unless your insurance is covering every penny.
