Laurie met us in the hospital and explained the services that Hospice offers. She was warm, professional and listened to our needs. Within hours a crew was at the house to set up everything we would need. The on-call RN Mike was outstanding. He provided clear plans, and education on what to expect though this process, which took the fear out of subtle changes our loved one went through and empowered us to help care for him. Mike helped us plan a medication schedule that significantly reduced his suffering. Sherri the Chaplain was with us during some very difficult times and helped us all through it with such grace and kindness. Years of being a model patient and I can no longer afford the costs so, they just sent me out the door with nothing at all. Just equipped with a strong desire to relapse and use. This place is a joke!!! They could have called me in medicine to help with withdraw or even to wing down from the 3 tablets a day but nope, no money no services!!!! I have Paid out around $25,000 in those five years but now, I have fallen into financial hardships and can't afford to pay anything for a couple weeks. Rather than work with a patient on keeping them sober and not forcing them into relapse through sudden withdraw, you tell me Nope, gotta pay. After everything I've seen and been through these five years with compass clinic I am really not surprised this is how management treats patients. I have paid out 25k already and if I don't pay a measly $40 right now I can't have medicine? The integrity, ethics, and morales of compass clinic are non-existent. The fact they called me at the end of day last Friday just before the weekend when they know I'm out of medicine proves my point. They left a message and hauled tail out for the weekend leaving my high and dry. In the five years I have been with Compass clinic, there has been countless times where the dr or someone else messed up my Rx, and NOT something fixable either. MAJOR MISTAKES such as sending the incorrect quantity's to the pharmacy. Compass has sent the wrong directions multiple times so I was forced to reduce or go without because it's already filled. They've even sent the wrong type of medicine because they don't read the patients chart/notes. Countless mistakes over the years that directly impacted my ability to operate within the program. Over a year ago, I had emergency surgery and conveyed that with the clinic as I was being rolled into the operating room who responded with "good luck". The person never asked to reschedule or asked when I could come in next, never told the Dr I was out of meds and in surgery plus it's Friday, what should we do for this patient? Didn't reach out to the director or drs for next steps or to notify them of my situation. They were incapable of developing any for-thought regarding this scenario or, they purposely said, "myeh, forget him, he can call back", forcing me into withdraw purposely. I found myself in withdraw for three days until I reached out asking what to do next since they couldn't offer up the information themselves. Compass said they would reach out to the on-call Dr for that weekend but, apparently they were NOT on-call as they could NOT get ahold of them and I had to go without, still in pain from surgery mind. I didn't receive any relief until the following Monday. It felt and still seems very intentional, that entire scenario. Unfortunately, the clinic does NOT have a plan for when patients reach financial hardships and are dealing with life threatening situations. The plan is to act like dealers themselves and force patients to come up with their money before you're allowed to get your fix. Using withdraw to gain financially is absolutely repulsive and unethical. Compass is easily comparable to the plug in the streets so, if you are serious about your sobriety then look absolutely anywhere else than here. Their costs are the biggest reason I am struggling to afford their services any longer. Do your research and find somewhere that treats you like a patient and not a nuisance. Almost everyone there talks to you like your bothering them by making your appointments, it's laughable, toxic, and uncomfortable every time.
