The caregiving staff is amazing, and whoever came to the house stepped in and provided necessary care without missing a beat. Finally, RAH provides a helpful online portal where we can see a caregivers profile, the type of daily care provided, and whatever notes they have for the family. Other agencies we used didn't provide this level of information or service. I can see why others have left 5-star reviews and I'm happy to do the same. They deserve every accolade you see here.

Those first hours after a procedure are overwhelming, and mentally it's very hard to process everything you need to do. Having Nurse Mitra there made all the difference. She helped me stay on track with my medications, kept my ice packs changed and positioned properly, and assisted me when I needed to walk to the bathroom. She also made sure I was up and moving by walking with me in the hotel so I could start recovering safely. Beyond the basics, she went above and beyond in ways I never expected. She made me protein drinks to help with healing, went to the store to pick up soup and fruit, and even brought me fresh eggs and avocado that she prepared at home. That level of care and kindness meant so much during such a vulnerable time. I truly could not have managed those first 24 hours without her. Looking back, I would have kept her longer if I had known how valuable that support would be during recovery. Nurse Mitra was compassionate, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful. I am deeply grateful for her care.

Cathy Carpenter said she cannot force power of attorney to send reports of her spending of mom's money. Cathy Carpenter is a mandated reporter. She must report the abuses perpetrated by Power of attorney amongst which are Refusal to reveal full records of her spending from mom's bank accounts.

This was the second place she was in memory care, and there is no comparison. The staff here is so caring and professional. They keep in regular touch with the residents' families, and spend a tremendous amount of time on enrichment activities with each resident. The food is excellent, and was served in a restaurant-like environment before the pandemic. Now it is catered to each room They also hosted a private birthday lunch in one of their small dining rooms for our family and my mother-in-law. Since the pandemic they have done a marvelous job of keeping residents safe. Most of the staff and management have been here a long time, and it's easy to see why.

My five stars go to Sunrise's executive director, Edith Kennedy, and the nursing and admin staff…read more They are exceptional, and I don't use that word a lot. Edith is particularly outstanding because she truly cares and is on her game with details, always wanting feedback (good or bad) to make your loved one's experience the best it can be. Now, with assisted living facilities this can sometimes be like moving a mountain. But, she earnestly tries. She's got your back. However, despite this, we are actually moving my dad to another local facility shortly due to one of Sunrise's bad qualities, horrible in fact, and that is...pricing. Again, to be found at many assisted living facilities but costs at Sunrise are higher than most...and they price differently than most. For example, when you first talk to them they speak of the rent as a flat rate. But it's not. Sunrise charges you a day rate per month. So your cost varies per month based on days of the month. The rent is better in February, September, April, June and November. But the other seven months with 31 days...all higher. And surprise...there are more months with 31 days in a year so the house wins. It's a bad optic. Despite the costs, they serve generic soda vs. Coke and Pepsi brands. Small yes, but at these prices...bad optic. They only have transportation offered 2 days a week while most other places provide 7 days. Again, for what they charge...bad optic. And one other thing. No matter what month you move in, your rent will be increased come January by 5-10%. The contract makes it sound like it's a random event, but it happens every year like clockwork and you will be notified 60 days in advance. And remember, you have your highest leverage to negotiate (the move-in fee, etc.) before you sign the contract. So with Sunrise, the people are terrific. The prices are not. And in the end, it's a shame that a business that exists to provide care often comes across as caring more about the money.
