We made this decision after visiting several assisted living facilities in the area. Both my daughter and I immediately agreed that Grace was by far the best facility for my mother! The facility is very nice and clean! The administrator and the staff were amazing to work with! My mother's rent was paid on the 1st of May at the facility where she resided in California. The administrator at Grace understood our concerns with regards to paying rent at two facilities for the month of May. She allowed my mother to move in FREE OF ALL CHARGES for the month of May! Mom ate at the facility, had her hair done and was welcome to participate in all of the activities and services Grace provides for the residents! It was very obvious that the residents care and well being was Grace's priority. Deborah S is my biological sister. Her previous post is nothing but false accusations against the facility! Deborah was my mother's POA when she moved into Grace. Prior to my mother signing the contract and necessary paperwork to move in my mother, daughter and I were asked to meet with the management. We were advised that Deborah's MO was control, threats and blackmail! Grace's management made it very clear to the three of us that they will not engage in that type of behavior. Again, their priority is and will always be caring for the residents. They advised us that they would NOT engage in any form of correspondence with any individual displaying this behavior! That is why there were no return phone calls or responses to Deborah's emails. With regards to my mother being taken to the emergency room, my daughter and I had taken my mother to her primary care physician for an examination. We had concerns of possible blood clots in my mother's legs. Her primary care physician sent her to the hospital immediately for tests. The ONLY knowledge Grace's management had was the fact I signed my mother out of the facility. They had no knowledge of where we were taking her. Mom revoked Deborah as her POA in June 2019. As a result, Deborah continues to strike out at the facility and family members. We, as well, will not engage in her behavior! She has even included more idle threats in her review! I assure you the ombudsman, State Department of Aging and any other related contacts will find nothing out of compliance with Grace! Deborah has blocked or limited correspondence to all family members in close contact with the facility and my mother's care. As a result of HER actions it is her choice to have limited communication. Prior to the visitation restrictions, as a result of the coronavirus, I was with my mother almost everyday for 4-6 hours per day. I saw FIRST HAND how the facility operates and the care they provide for their residents! My mother, daughter and I have no doubt that we have made the right desicion to move her into Grace! Deborah has not been in the facility or met with any of the staff! She has absolutely no knowledge of the true facts!

"Disability is natural. We must stop believing that disabilities keep a person from doing…read moresomething. Because that's not true . . . Having a disability doesn't stop me from doing anything." ― Benjamin Snow, Grade 8, in his essay "Attitudes About People with Disabilities" Serving others for nearly 30 years! Living Independence Network Company A.K.A. LINC is a local service agency that cares for people with disabilities, all levels, focusing on ability within their disability and helping them to be as independent as possible. My mother-in-law gets services through this agency and I help her with many of them. Linc is very helpful for families by learning available resources and support. This is the first review of the Caldwell, Idaho office. This is my 435th review. There are many different services that Linc provides and in three cities: Boise, Calwell, and Twin Falls. Some of the services they provide are: Advocacy: Call them if you're experiencing a problem in relation to how you live with your disability. Whether it's a landlord, employer, local business, and the such, Linc will help you by speaking on behalf of you, writing a letter for you, or acting for you. This is a very important part of social work and for people living with disabilities. Independence Living Services: The will help locate housing for you, train you to live independently: budgeting, renting an apartment, working with Health and Welfare and much more! Personal Care Services: They will help you hire, train, and pay employees to help you through the Medicaid program. Help can be cooking, cleaning, hygiene and other quality of life tasks. Transportation: They hell you apply for assistance with transportation such as medical taxi (Medicaid/Medicare pays), and discounted transportation such as taxi and bus passes. Medical equipment loans: That's right... if you need a wheelchair, power chair, crutches, CPAP machine, you can call Linc and they will help you with that. You can borrow these items for as long as you need. They also take donations of these items and many more if you ever hear about them or have some to discard. Lastly, The ramp and rail loan program. According to their website This program provides: Temporary loans of modular, portable, aluminum accessibility ramps for residences averaging 30-90 days. Only requires a fully-refundable deposit of $250 or $450, depending on size and configuration Ensures people with accessibility or mobility issues to maintain their independence and freedom. Even if you're having a family member come to visit that requires a ramp, you can borrow a rail free of charge, just put down the security deposit. Linc has been in the Treasure Valley for nearly 30 years. They have a vast amount of resources available and a database of other resources for yourself and your family. It's important to know what services are available out in the community. You never know who is going to need this knowledge. This review is going into a new "Community Resource" Yelp list which may help our community grow and overall help individuals help themselves move up Maslow's hierarchy toward self-actualization. As for my review-- I am going to post this same review on all three cities because it brings awareness and again, may help someone. The staff has always been friendly. I've dealt with the community nurse several times, they come to the participants home, and are always filled with both compassion and empathy. My brother in law is unable to walk long distances and his mobility scooter took a dump. He was unable to get a new mobility scooter due to lack of funding-- Linc provided him with a "loaner" which he can use for as long as he needs, and he once again has the independence and quality of life that we all deserve, thanks to Linc.
