My aesthetician's name was Brittney (I think I spelled that correctly!) and she was wonderful. She gave me a relaxing hour-long facial with NO extractions! She was very gentle and professional. I will be going back to her again. They use BioElements products, which I use myself at home and really like. My boyfriend's massage therapist was Kerri. He can't stop raving about her. He has a lot of back issues due to his line of work, and gets massages frequently. He said she is the first therapist who really seemed to understand where his pain is and addressed it. He also plans on booking with her again. I subtracted one star for this review because the salon's interior appearance could use a LOT of help. The decor is very dated (think 90s "luxe" quasi-Tuscan style) and the gold wall-to-wall carpeting and industrial carpeting in some of the treatment rooms upstairs look like it has definitely seen better days. For a business that has been around for as long as this one has, I am surprised they haven't invested more in updating the decor, swapping the carpeting for hardwood/laminate/tile and removing the 90's-style stucco/textured wall paint. The salon would definitely benefit from a cleaner, more modern look (nicer flooring, more neutral/clean paint colors, updated light fixtures, etc.). Time to come into the next century. I think the appearance might put off some potential new clients, which is a shame because the two professionals we saw were very good at their jobs.

The first issue was when the appointment was set as the business did not do their job ensuring my wife would be given all of the attention of the stylist. My wife came in for a completely new style and they put her in during a time when another client was waiting for color to set (or whatever happens with that process). My wife noticed the cut was not going as planned as the stylist began to show her frustration, my wife could see the other client getting upset as she was now waiting for the stylist and the stylist even made a comment that the cut was not what she imagined. My wife noticed that her hair was shorter than she desired and eventually told the stylist to just stop. A good stylist would have mentioned that there are some areas that she would like to smooth out or make even but the stylist was obviously done and quickly finished up. So who lost in this scenario? My wife. She paid full price for a cut that was nowhere close to what she described (and even provided a picture of), was not allotted the time to get the cut she desired and is now in the process of making the corrections to her own hair that should have been taken care of before she left, she will have to get and pay for another haircut before she normally would and she is very aware, conscious and even EMBARRASSED because of her haircut. She is embarrassed to be seen or noticed which is NOT something that should come from a new haircut or new hairstyle and is not something I would like to hear if I was a stylist. The business needs to do a better job qualifying clients to see if they can be fit into a time slot while another client waits for a perm or color to set or if that client needs more dedicated time. It is not fair to the stylist, the client that now has to wait for the stylist to finish or to the client that is getting squeezed in and not being given their just time. The stylist needs to do a better job in asking for help when they are in above abilities and should NEVER, EVER let a client leave without ensuring the cut is pleasing, even and to the best of their ability or to the best of the abilities of another stylist!! Shame on everyone involved for allowing this to happen and yes my wife is looking for a new stylist and new place to get her hair styled.

My sister goes to her for everything from facials, to haircuts, to blue purple and green hair. I recently dyed my hair way too dark cherry brown, it was very nearly black at the bottom. I needed to get it lightened. Dani suggested the least damaging way and most cost effective would be to have two or so rounds of highlights. We decided on caramel for the hightlights. I let her know I had to be out the door by 12:15 so I didn't care if my hair was completely dry or not when I left as long as the color and cut was done. She got it all done within the time I needed her to, she was super pleasant and friendly and kind the entire time. She dried it partially so I could see the color I looked at it quickly then ran out the door. By the time I got to work it dried entirely, and I didn't like how light some of the highlights were. I was nervous to complain due to insane hair stylists in the past, but I called and let her know "hey so the highlight placement is perfect, most of them are the perfect color, a few on the side are a little too light im so sorry to complain! " and to my absolute surprise she said in an upbeat voice " oh no don't worry about it I'd be upset if you didn't say anything and had hair you weren't happy with for two months come on in after work and I'll take care of it!" And sure enough, I went in, she took 10 minutes and made it entirely perfect all with a smile on her face! She did such a good job with the cut as well, she added texture and made it healthy without sacrificing my precious long curly crazy hair! Everyone on staff is friendly and attentive, they all work together really well. There's a very great feeling with a lot of positive energy when you walk in. I will most definitely be returning!

I asked, "aren't you supposed to rinse that off first" and she rudely said "no... it's barbicide" like yes I can read thank you. My scalp started to burn as I was sitting on the chair longer and longer. I did a quick Google and sure enough the combs are supposed to be washed off before use. I attached pictures of my Google search to prove this is not ok practice. Not to mention the comb she was using looked like it was ten years old and had broken prongs. Not sure how you can get a proper cut while using a comb that's broken. To top it all off, not once was I asked if the water was ok while she was washing my hair. I had to ask twice for her to turn the temperature down. She didn't ask if I wanted my hair blow dried and just started doing it. She didn't ask how I wanted it styled and just turned on the straightener. When I said "oh you dont need to straighten it, I don't like using heat on my hair" she got snippy and said "ok you can just follow me then." And turned the straightener off. When I was being checked out I was not asked how the service or my experience was and was basically just given the price and told me I can read the monitor. Horrible experience. Let's hope my scalp is okay and I don't need to go to the doctor!!!!

I'm really conflicted about this review, fellow Yelpers. Maybe a 3.5 would be more fair…read more On Saturday, November 14, I had an appointment for a blowout - that's it. A wash, a dry. No more, no less. Now, I have long hair, but apparently i was in for a different appointment -- and they made that clear. First, when I made my appointment, I was never told with whom; then, when I got there, the woman never introduced herself. So, all I know is that she owns the place. As far as services, the washing of my hair hurt, lots of pulling. My wash/dry took less than an hour but the woman working on my hair kept stopping to talk to people. Yikes. I was also told over and over again that my hair was dry (no it's not) and that it's spotted. SPOTTED. WHAT? No, it's not. Oh - I wash my hair too much too. Cool, thanks. This isn't terribly constructive. The lady was nice enough, I guess, aside from what I wrote above about the hair criticism. The blow out was okay, BUT FORTY DOLLARS. $40!!!! Uh, okay. I wasn't asked what side I part my hair and when I mentioned it was on the wrong side, no change. The amount of product in my hair makes me want to wash it - 20 minutes after I left. It feels gross and is weighed down. No volume. Not gonna lie, you guys. I'm pretty upset. If you're going to berate my hair please do a good job. Please don't tell me that your product won't weigh my hair down when I comment on how much you're putting in it. Please don't tell me this blow out will last 7 days because I'm already dying to wash my hair. PLEASE don't charge e $40 for a service that should cost $30.

No one else has ever had an issue with me and I don't really attract much conflict. As a heterosexual male often working in a high stress/high pressure environment, I don't act in an overly excitable way and am generally pretty quiet. Especially for a massage service where I come to relax without pressures of small talk. This has never been an issue before, unfortunately one of the masseuses interpreted my personality as "rude" and decided they didn't want to see me anymore. That's odd but fine. People have their opinions based on a variety of factors and experiences and those reasons might not always be perfectly rational. Had they told me this therapist didn't want to see me, the issue would have stopped in its tracks. I would have just not booked this person and moved on. Instead, they lied to me and canceled my appointment saying she had an emergency. Then the manager advised me there was no issue and I need to call another hand and stone to remove the restrictions on my account. I called the other hand and stone and they said the Royersford location blocked me and banned me citing "rude" behavior despite no confrontation at all. I would pay money to see the video play back of our interaction, it was the most normal interaction you'll ever see. Hi, how are you doing, good how are you, what do you want to work on today, I want to focus on my back. When I called Royersford back I spoke to the assistant manager who advised I was banned from the location, after lying to me multiple times. All said and done, I am banned for acting like a normal person, I was lied to and manipulated and wasted my time trying to figure out what was actually going on. It would be impossible to handle this situation in a worse way. If they think I was "rude" for not engaging in much small talk, do they think lying multiple times and blinding banning me because one woman didn't like me is not rude? I am happy to discuss this situation with the owner of the location, I was only able to have an honest meaningful conversation with the assistant manager who appears to be the main decision maker in this situation. If I had a financial stake in this business, the last thing in the world I would want are my customers treated the way I was treated. I will also be escalating this issue to corporate to verify the behavior of the employees involved adheres to their code of conduct -- personally I don't see any code of conduct that makes their behavior acceptable. Lastly, my suggestion to any one else who considers using this location to be on their best behavior. If you ever have a bad day and don't want to chit chat or respond in manner that isn't perceived as cheery, get ready for the nightmare I went through.
