Which is kind of a pet peeve of mine, I think all businesses should be on top of their email. I called at the end of February and the first available weekend fly date was the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Based on some of the experiences here I didn't think a two month lead time was not bad at all. We arrived for our flight bright and early at the Rejuvenation Cafe at 6am. The cafe was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. I did feel like it was a bit too much of waiting around once you got there, I'm not sure if they build in so much time for late comers or what the strategy is there. The employees were all friendly and seemed excited to fly that day. They blow up a few helium balloons and let them go to see the path the balloon you are in will take. Crazy right? A helium balloon basically shows what your path will be, makes sense but just a weird thing to think about. We were given a brief safety briefing and had a chance to ask questions if people had any. Then it was time to blow up the balloons, it was really neat to see! Then we were in the basket and we were off. It was a cool experience but not something I would want to do again. The fiance was the one who wanted to do it in the first place. I had a good experience with this company and would recommend them to others.

Keith Watson is an expert, yet he explained everything well for us beginners. By the end our second day we were recognizing birds by ear- a skill I thought was beyond us. Keith handled all the logistics of our tour. Picked us up early in the morning and took us to some beautiful places he had diligently scouted the day before. When he recommended we get up even earlier the second day to see the sunrise from the mountain ridge over the valley- we said yes! The tour was like birding with a knowledgeable friend and it was the highlight of our trip to the Great Smoky Mountains. I wish there was a Keith in every country. He is a good communicator, great guide, is friendly and has a good sense of humor.
