I greeted them rather than be greeted by the two men up front. I waited to look at a necklace for a just a couple of minutes. The two of them were helping a lady check out with three blouses... I'm not sure why both of them had to help her, but that's fine. I had a lunch to get to so I said I would be back and then I was asked if I was a "part of the wedding"... I said no. Forgot to go back so before I got too far away (as I'm not local), I called to see if they could just give me the price on a necklace that I was really interested in so that I could turn around and go get it. However, I was told they're too busy, even though I knew exactly what shelf and what holder the necklace was sitting on, he couldn't check that for me. It's not that the end of the world but at the same time where is the customer service... Do you actually want to make sales and help people or not? read more

Great antique store in Novato that is set up with multiple vendors and endless nooks to explore. The goods ranged from true Antiques to vintage inspired to "hey my grandma had that when I was younger!" type items. What also stood out was a great collection of vintage posters, including some not-so-vintage but still cool framed promotional posters from the Sausalito Art Festivals over the years. There is plenty of free two hour parking nearby so take some time to browse or shop at your leisure-there is a lot to look at! Prices seemed on par with other similar antique shops. Traveled from So California to visit family. Stopped into this shop and bought earrings, a pin, a necklace, and an egg holder. All items were rung up. The man there wrapped up what I thought were my items but in reality wrapped only the egg holder. Thought I would prevent losing anything so I left my package wrapped up. After getting back to So Cal I found only the egg holder in my bag. It may seem like an honest mistake except that I went back into the store after I left. Nothing was said to me. After reading some of the reviews I feel that the omission was intentional. May try and call to get my items but I don't have much hope that it may happen. read more

We love this place and the two ladies working there. We went to this shop after having brunch a few blocks away. We took our time walking around the store and so many beautiful items. Their antique pieces are good quality and reasonably priced. Their service was the best. The two ladies working that day were so sweet, especially to my son and his girlfriend. I shop here often and was super disappointed when I went in last week, Jan 2023. One of the store clerks, I believe her name is Jackie, was SUPER SICK, coughing, sniffling, and blowing her nose. With Covid and the RSV flu running rampant in our community, I find it inconsiderate and highly irresponsible of her to work with the public. To make matters worse! She did not even have the common courtesy to wear a mask! The man working alongside her was wearing a mask, probably because he was uncomfortable working beside her. I found a copper pot I would have purchased, but I did not want her ringing me up. read more

I've purchased several items from her and later had them appraised, only to discover that she lied to me about their origin. I would advise avoiding this shop - there are far too many good, honest antique dealers in Marin County - no need to throw your money away. read more

I went there on a Saturday. The Store seemed rather clean and organized. Lot of great stuff, lots of unusable things as well; though OVERPRICED!!! However, by the time I got home, I realized I had been OVERCHARGED $30 on my Amex card. I am now reporting this to American Express, and The Consumer Protection Bureau!!! I know exactly what "The Owner" ( so Unprofessional!!!) did. I had canceled some of the items I'd selected, 'cause I'd found some for cheaper price! We're All trying to save some money these days, right? Well, HE NEVER TOOK THOSE OUT OF THE REST!!! I See these tactics from DISHONEST RETAILERS All The Time!!! Funny thing is; he was complaining to me, including showing me photos of some guy who'd been stealing "high end" items recently from them. Well; I'm Buddhist, I don't lie, I don't steal, I don't invent Stories, etc. My dad was military; I know The Law!!! THIS IS FILTHY KARMA!!! If someone steals from you? Does that give you the right to steal from others? NO! NOT @ALL!!! I'll never buy a thing from these THIEVES!!! Just be aware, that, better keep account of what you're buying @ this place!!! Great little spot in Novato. Very well curated and reasonable prices. Store is more of a "mini" antique mall with a number of different vendors. This was our warmup and pregame for the re-opening of the flea markets in the Bay Area. Owners are extremely helpful and gracious. Will definitely comeback to visit. What a great little store! Tucked away on a quiet corner in adorable downtown Novato, perfect place to wander on a Sunday afternoon. Lots of vintage jewelry and knick knacks, a few pieces of furniture (like a barber's chair!) some clothing and everything in between. They had a large section of handmade/embroidered linens, which weren't vintage but were lovely all the same. I found a great 70's embroidered silk blouse but wasn't prepared for the $69 price tag. Most of their stuff was reasonably priced however. Very friendly but non-hovering employees. read more

Everything here is marked up by 5x to 30x or more. The little old ladies running this place spend all day on eBay and other websites figuring out values of stuff they sell on consignement and never will sell you anything cheap. They take advantage of other old ladies by asking a price and they keep the difference. Their prices are truly predatory. I called them on it lately and the nice little old lady at front ltold me to F off and shop elsewhere if I didn't like their prices! They steal from old people in neighborhood and then steal from locals. Sorry to tell itvlike it is but the ladies who run the store steal from the old, mark it all up, sell stuff mispriced online to hide their theft and sell instore. read more

I stop into this place from time to time. It appears to be a co-op of consignors who each have their own little section of the store. Each area is either a potpourri of collectible items or they have a theme of sorts. For example, one section had mostly furniture and framed photos and paintings, while another area was focused on paper collectibles. It's fun taking the time to browse and experience the array of neat vintage items. Most items are priced. Some negotiating can be had but be prepared to have to call the consignor directly as the folks at the counter can only negotiate for their own items (consignors apparently take turns manning the desk as part of their co-op.) Most items appear to be reasonably priced but without haggling you are probably not going to get any real deals. read more

Great spot to pick up unique gifts. Lots of different vendors sell here so make sure you walk around the whole store. I once picked up a gorgeous quilt here for $50. Every once in a while they have beautiful pieces of furniture here as well. read more

I'm not a big antique person -- in other words, not an expert who can attest to the quality of the antiques here, if someone is truly searching for something old, authentic, and of high quality. However, I like this antique store very much. The prices are reasonable, the store is well-lit, spacious, and welcoming. For instance, yesterday, I brought my baby niece in -- I didn't let her walk around knocking over things or anything like that -- but the people who worked there gave me the benefit of the doubt about that, and didn't frown on the fact that I was there with a kid. FOR FAMILIES WITH KIDS -- there is a fun, talkative (!) gumball machine that the kids will happily put quarters into while you browse. The female employee who works there told me that kids will sometimes come in the store just to use it. :) I don't *think* there is a dedicated parking lot, but as long as it's not a farmer's market day or any other special event downtown, parking is pretty easy to find, and it's free. read more

I've been coming into Sentimental Journey for several years now, and it's a really great store. There's always awesome finds to be discovered, there's just such a variety of product they have I couldn't list off or pin down what they sell, it's a store anyone can enjoy. They always have reasonable prices and are friendly, it's great making conversation with the staff, and has a neat environment. But the reason why I'm writing this is because I went in earlier today and eyed this beautiful copper cuff, but had to leave. And I came back a few minutes after 6 and they were closing, but the man working let me come in and buy the cuff, and was so nice, and they definitely deserve some good points. I love this store a ton, it's a great shop in downtown. read more
