I passed this store on my way to lunch and was pleasantly surprised - I had no idea there was a Korean Asian grocery store in Adelaide!
I have to say I frequent the Grote St side of Chinatown less often than Gouger St - if ever I do, I rarely cross the road. So when I took a proper long walk down Grote St, I found many cute places like this Korean Asian Grocery Store.
Curious, I walked inside only to find an abundance of Korean snacks - chips and lollies - which I headed straight towards. There were also magazines, books and other bits and pieces, all Korean. The staff were friendly and polite, nodding hellos and smiling.
What I love about authentic Asian Grocery stores is the atmosphere they often emit through their products, decor, and service. I think people would prefer a slightly "grungy" or untidy ethnic grocery store to one that is spotless. It's part of the experience, I think - and the Korean Asian Grocery store certainly was one.
For those who like different things and checking out foreign culture, this place would be great for you. read more
