The shelves were not maintained well & in general, the store was a dusty, dirty and a confusing mess. After leaving the store & doing more research, I learned that the item I was looking for 'Carom seeds' is also called 'Ajeain' which I remember seeing on a shelf. When I asked the woman if they carried Carom seeds, she clearly didn't know that they actually had it. I'll also mention that parking is very limited. Basically only 2 street parking spots in front of the store & no info for additions parking.

Today, the stars aligned as they were open and I was hungry. I first went into the grocery store to purchase the makings for sambhur, one of my favorite Indian dishes. The owner's daughter and her friend were a tremendous help as we looked up one of the ingredients. It is called Lady finger and looks like okra. We started talking about all the additions and remodeling going on in the store. In the near future, they will have everything for you to make a great Indian meal or stop in for a snack. And they also offer beauty supplies and Hindu statues. We then moved outside to the food truck. I already knew I was going to get pani puri, an Indian street food. They were 4 for a $1.00! As the pani puri were being made, we talked about all their offerings including their favorites, a cross between India and China chow Mein and the momos (dumplings). These young ladies want to open a small café with their aunt cooking wonderful Nepali, Indian, and Chinese influenced food. They talked of creative offerings like Bison momos and I offered that I would love to see paratha, a stuffed Indian bread with creative stuffing. This is not McDonald's and everything is created fresh so allow a little time. I was told the chow Mein takes 15 minutes, so order and then go inside to shop. And my pani puri.....it was wonderful. Light puffs filled with a stuffing of lentils and tamarind chutney served with a spiced water sauce. And at this stop, it is OK to drink the rest of the spiced water. I am very fond of the ladies who own this shop and food truck; I love seeing them dream better and more offerings. They have a steady clientele of local Nepalese and Indian patrons; I hope to see a steady clientele of Yelpers as well.

She was not joking. It was not too sweet and slightly tart. The lychee lemonade aide was really good too. The lychee flavor was a bit overpowering but that is typically the case with lychee flavored anything. The lemon slice in there was a really good touch. I got the affogato with espresso/matcha and Vietnamese coffee. It was my bad to get so many things all in one as it was a bit too much but I think it would've been perfect with espresso and Vietnamese coffee. You get two rolls for $8. Overall, be patient and kind. It's a nice way to incorporate more veggies and fermented foods in your diet.
