CVS corporate is apparently not interested in hiring enough people to operate the pharmacy department properly--multiple times over the last six weeks or so we've had to either go into the store because the drive-thru was closed (handwritten sign in the window blaming understaffing), or come back again later because the pharmacy was just flat-out closed during business hours. We've never had a problem with the prescriptions themselves but not being able to actually pick them up once they're filled completely misses the point of running a pharmacy in the first place. Maybe throw a little bit of that $2.2B in profits last quarter at keeping the lights on, huh? You're not running a McDonalds here.

My doctor tried calling and gave up. I even called the customer service desk twice and they said they were letting the pharmacist know that they needed to get my call and I still got hung up on both times. I have an extremely busy full time job in customer service as well, and I stay late at the office because of the time I waste at work trying to call Walgreens. This abysmal lack of service would never ever fly at any place I've ever been employed.

Apparently this is the busiest Walgreens Pharmacy in Denver. I'd believe it. There is always a…read moreline! The frustrating part is that if you have an appointment for a vaccine, you must still wait in that line, which often checks you in well after your scheduled appointment time. They should have a separate check in area, however, I doubt they have the pharmacy staff to accommodate the need. The rest of the store is relatively tame, and generally has products in stock (though no one has been immune during the supply chain shortages post-covid). There is a large parking lot which is easy to enter from Colorado Blvd, Alameda, or the shopping center. Staff are generally friendly and easy to find throughout the store. There is one lady in the skin care area who is particularly helpful, should you have questions about face lotions. Photos are printed pretty expeditiously, which is nice, but rarely is someone ever behind the counter to get them for you. There is often only one person at the cash registers, so a line to check out can form quickly. That's sort of the theme to this store: hurry up and wait. It would be nice if they could implement self-check outs, faster check ins at the pharmacy, and less waiting at the photo department for help.

I stood in the Customer Service line, which was a longer wait than usual. Then was told that online orders were in a different area. I was mildly put out and kind of laughed it off. One of the manager, Elle, apologized as I walked by and I just kept walking and said "Me Too". Once I picked up my order, Elle came over with a gift card for me. Long story short, she showed me kindness that was honestly not needed or deserved but I'm appreciative. Made me reset my mind frame and focus for the day. Then there were the things that we definitely didn't need but bought anyway. There were a couple of cashiers at registers though none of their lights were on - you just have to look I guess. The self checkout line was a lot longer than any of the register line and you can't buy alcohol at these registers. I even had an OMG moment at this Target - they had a clean bathroom! I don't think I've ever seen a clean restroom at any Target that I've been in (and I've been in Targets all across the country, even in Hawaii). Next time I'm in the area, this will no doubt be my Target of choice.
