They did not disappoint, the dining area was well lit, spacious, comfortable and very clean. Very nice selection of fav Korean dishes and all well prepared with nice presentation all with a minimal wait time. Recently moved to the area and was looking for korean food. Found this place and ordered takeout for dinner. Unfortunately it was pretty disappointing for the price. We got the seafood pancake which was decent, the squid dish which was also decent and the sweet and sour pork which was horrible.... The pork portion came so small it was like someone ate half our dish. And it was $20. Maybe this place had good reviews because it was the only Korean food in the area... but for the price, it wasn't worth it. Rather go to Westfield or Edison for Korean food. read more

Plain place, lunches are all about $14 before tip. They bring a plate of pickled daikon, broccoli, potato and kimchi to snack on while you wait. The scallion pancakes were good but a little doughy and had squid in them, which was a little rubbery (I only like fried calamari.) The chicken wings were good - quite spicy and also sweet, a nice combo. The bulgogi wax also good and a decent portion. And the kimchee was great (I love kimchee.) This place is SO INSANE (in an amazing way of course). the food was absolutely incredible and so authentic as I used to live in Korea for over 10 years before and the food in this restaurant was exactly the same. The staff were so friendly and kind to talk with (ella in specific! she's the sweetest), and it was a gorgeous atmosphere and environment. me and my family ate here and were so surprised it wasn't absolutely packed after finishing our meal. please come and try it out here, because i know FOR FACT you will love it. Somerville has really become just a hot pot of ethnic cuisine. So far, I've had ridiculously amazing Indian and Cantonese on the main strip. Now add Korean to that list. Excellent Korean food which is hard to find around this area. We usually come here twice a month. Recently moved into a new location across street from old place. New place is nicely decorated. On this visit I got the short rib soup in beef broth with glass noodles. Nice sized portion that comes with 3 short ribs. I get extra glass noodles as these are my favorite. I eat half and then eat the rest for dinner later. My girlfriend got her usual dish - tofu soup which is always good. Both come with white rice. For starters we get the Korean pancake, which is nice and thin with a nice crust. Actually better than the pancake you get at most of the Edison Korean restaurants. They also give you a small platter of the usual starters: this time we got: kimchi, spicy radish, fish cake and marinated potatoes. Average check is $35 for two. read more

Came here for the second time last night and let me tell you I couldn't be more happier with how the food came out. I absolutely loved everything that I ordered. I started off with two appetizers the Seoulville KFC and the scallion and seafood pancakes! Both were delicious. After that I ordered the L.A Galbi and that too was delicious, it came on a hot plate with veggies on the bottom and topped with tons of beef and a side of rice! Ordered the KFC, dolsot, spicy seafood noodle soup, bulgogi with rice, kimchi stew, and spicy squid. KFC was good and crispy. Spicy seafood soup was made with udon noodles; flavor was there but mostly just spicy. Spicy squid was way too sweet and more onions than seafood. The other dishes were good! Dishes come with rice but you have to pay $2 for rice in a hot stone bowl with a fried egg. Service was quick and kind. Overall, the food was average and a bit pricey for the quality. read more

This place used to be good. Their food was very close to authentic cooking. But what I got today was not even close to Korean food. I ordered Spicy seafood noodle soup and sweet and spicy pork. Sweet and Spicy Pork was $19 dollars and contained 11 pieces of soggy meat Spicy Seafood Noodle soup was $20 and found mussel shells with algae debris still attached. Pointing to improper cleaning of ingredients before cooking. This is disgusting, if they can't bother to even clean mussels properly, what else are they not doing correctly. We had a great time at the Rose Festival then we decided to have dinner here after reading the reviews online. When we arrived, there were a lot of table available so we were seated right away. As usual, we like to order dishes to share and we don't like to waste food. We were a party of eight and we ordered 6 dishes to share. We planned to eat cake later. Few minutes later, we were informed that our orders would not be placed unless we ordered 8 dishes- because we were eight people. We were confused. We never been asked to order more dishes that we wanted in any restaurants before. Everyone was really surprised. We should have left the restaurant right away but we decided to stay and ordered two more dishes- we should have left!!! We came here to have a great time but this situation ruined our night. This place also ensured to add the 20% tip on the bill and also the state tax was added on the tip- state tax should not be added on the tip. At the end, we did not eat the cake there and we couldn't wait to leave. I believe demanding the customer the amount of dishes to order is a protocol at this establishment- which is unreasonable. I enjoyed dining here so much that I came back the following day with my mother who also loved the food. The staff was great, the restaurant was clean, and the food was delicious. I ordered the stir fried chicken in a spicy red pepper sauce. It was definitely spicy but very good. There's a complementary appetizer platter that is served before your meal. Seoulville is BYOB as many of the restaurants in Somerville are. I also ordered their desert drink which consisted of persimmon, cinnamon, lemon, and sugar, served with a lot of slushy ice. It's so freaking good. I absolutely loved my entrée and will eventually try something new on the menu. Until then, I'm content. Visited the restaurant after a fun day at the Rose Festival on Saturday. We were a group of 8 people looking to have a great time and even eat cake after the meal. We were seated right away since there were many tables available, then we ordered 6 dishes since we don't like to waste food and know that dishes are usually big enough to share. A moment after ordering, we were told that the owner would be pleased if we ordered 8 dishes in total since we were 8 people, otherwise he wouldn't place our orders. We were so confused, that was outrageous!! We should have left the place right away, but we didn't (our mistake). As if it wasn't enough, the place made sure to add the 20% gratuity on the receipt and apply the state taxes on top of it -state taxes should not be added on top of the tips anywhere-. We left the place with a bad taste/experience and surely didn't eat cake there. I would not recommend this place to anyone and would give 0 star if it was allowed. read more

Stopped in for a later dinner. They were closing in about 30 minutes, but the owner was very kind and showed us to a seat. There were 2 other tables there finishing up, so we were very appreciative. The dining area was bright and very clean. Our server (Gigi?) was super helpful and friendly. My friend and I went with some classics. The K.F.C, Bibimbap, and for my vegan buddy pan friend tofu with veggies. All the food was delicious. Everything tasted very fresh. The wings came out crispy and hot. They were a great mix of sweet and hot. The rice from the bibimbap had that wonderful texture on the bottom. And my friend thoroughly enjoyed his tofu and veggies. The price for the food was extremly expensive when compared to korean cuisine even steak korean houses in edison and fort Lee. I came here as I saw the restaurant featured in the Downtown Somerville Experience. I had been wanting to try this place for a while. I was here last year but sat down and nobody approached our table for fifteen minutes so we jetted. Now we made our return and the same thing almost happens... I was a little more patient since it was restaurant week ( place was 75% full) but after 10 minutes of not being acknowledged, I set my watch for five minutes as my 'bail time' and they made it to me at the final moment. I was presented with a Sudoko menu that we and the waitress really didn't understand so we opted to just order off of the menu. I guess that was unclear because the owner/manager comes up to us and tells us what we can't have. I wasn't trying to scam you for an extra $5, let me order what I want and just charge me. As I walked back to the bathroom (you walk right through the kitchen) I see the guy laying into the two waitresses about menu items. The whole time they are back there listening to his barking, the dining room is looking all over for service. The food was delicious. Was craving Korean food and I pass by this place in Somerville all the time, so I figured I'd finally give it a try. Ordered delivery thru DoorDash, got the Spicy Cheesy Chicken, bulgogi, and scallion pancakes. Total came out to about $75 and didn't even come with the traditional bon chon that other Korean spots include with their meals. I've ordered take out from other Korean restaurants before that came with the pickled cucumber, kimchi, potato salad, and fish cakes. This only came with the entrees but it seems way overpriced for what it is. The bulgogi plate is $22- this is more expensive than if you were to go to a KBBQ spot to grill it yourself. The quality of food was pretty good but I feel it's not worth the price. Since there's pretty much only one Korean restaurant in the area, I feel there's no need to overprice the food items here. read more

Seoulville is one of the only Korean restaurant options in this area but it is of high quality and the food is always delicious! I come here often with my family and usually order the spicy pork dolsot or bulgogi dolsot. I have also tried several of the appetizers and I like the banchan here as well. Overall, our experience was good. There was only one other table in the place on a Friday night, but can't complain as the service was good. Food was good too. Side dishes were tasty but small (however they're complimentary so not an issue.) Server also made sure we knew how to eat our dishes, which was nice. I had the beef bibimbap and I just found it to be bland, even with the "spicy" sauce provided. I expected something a littler more flavorful. My brother's spicy pork stir fry was much better. Really doesn't look like anything outside. I only went in because I had the company of my friend from California who insisted we try different food. I'm so happy that I broke outside of my comfort zone. They were truly accommodating. Our glasses of water never being allowed to be empty. Kindly helping myself and my daughter with the heat of my dish and my daughters likes and dislikes. I ended up ordering Cheesy Spicy Chicken and my daughter had Beef Bulgogi. I really don't like to give negative reviews but the 4 - 5 star rating isn't valid. I've been eating Korean food my entire life (NY, LA, Seoul) and the rating is relative to what one could experience. Short version is the food is not good Korean food. But I could imagine to some that haven't tried it before or tasted what it could be like, this would look fine or "exotic". In general, the dishes we had were more bland or improperly seasoned. The kalbi ( BBQ) was just OK as the marinade was off. Less salty and sweet than it should be. The Sweet & Sour pork was horrible. Vinegary, no sweet at all and the breaded pork was soggy. The Stir Fried Spicy Squid was too sweet and not spicy enough. The soups (Soybean Paste) was a bit blander than it should be. Maybe its made for "western" palates but if you want good Korean food, you will be disappointed. DIdn't try the K.F.C. Also the free side dishes (banchan) which is a staple of Korean meals was lame. For 6 of us, they brought out one small plate of portions. We had to ask for more a couple of times. The decor is modern and trendy. The service was fine. Not super friendly but masked and did the job. Sorry but you are better off elsewhere but you'll likely have to travel as there are probably not good Korean restaurants this far from New York City. read more

Finally! I got to try Seoulville food and it was fabulous! I can't wait to return to try more on the menu. There were 6 in my party and everyone enjoyed their dinners. We started with the Korean fried chicken (tried both sauces- 3 votes for each as the favorite) and the seafood and scallion pancake. Both had been highly recommended and we were not disappointed. My dinner was the crispy cod with stir fry vegetables. Yum!!! My son had the octopus with noodles. Fantastic! My husband had the Korean short ribs(Gal-Bi). He ate every bite! Two of the girls had the Japchae - no leftovers on either plate (it was really tasty). My other daughter had the kimchi fried rice. That too was delicious! We ordered the Korean fried chicken appetizer (honey soy garlic), which came in an order of 5 pieces. Taste wise it was meh. Nothing out of the ordinary. Our entrees were the bulgogi and kalbi, Both of which came with a bowl of white rice. As per usual, the small side dishes came out too (pickled cucumber, fish cake, broccoli, potato, and kimchi). The sides tasted like usual so no complaints there. My kalbi was pretty tasty....cooked well and not overly chewy. Just enough bite and fat lol. The bulgogi was cooked well it lacked some flavor. Portions were pretty decent so but Im not quite sure if I'd come back just yet. To me, the epitome of a Korean dining experience almost always involves bulgogi and kalbi. Came here with my sister and friend for dinner last night after having been here before and craving the yummy KFC( Korean Fried Chicken) love it in the sweet and spicy sauce! So the three of us ordered our drinks and appetizers and that took no time. Our waitress was pretty good on that. Finally when we ordered our entrees for some odd reason, my sisters dish came out in a reasonable time by my friend and I got ours like 40 minutes later. The waitress didn't seem to care to share about the delay and explain if there was something happening. No updates at all, i also noticed there was a couple who sat behind us ordered water and then after 10 minutes got up and left assuming no one took their food orders. The saddest thing of all is that the entire restaurant received their food before my friend and i like people who came after us and we sat for a lifetime waiting. This is why i cut down from 5 stars to 2 stars. Came here last year during corona summer time had no issues at all. Seems like when they moved across the street they got a whole new set of staff who doesn't know what they're doing. Please retrain your waitresses and chefs and cooks how to bring out food in a decent time. And next time dont make melted mozzarella cheese greasy as hell. Oh and dont burn it either all the cheese was stuck and burnt and the rice cakes got stuck to the skillet too. Seoulville is more than your typical Korean tofu house. Here you can not only find the typical bibimbap and tofu soup, but also Korean fried chicken, a few Korean BBQ dishes, and a variety of chef's specials. We got the cheesy spicy chicken and jobchae (glass noodles). The cheesy spicy chicken was very reminiscent of the sizzling chicken and cheese platters you can find at Applebee's/TGIF, but with a Korean twist - rice cakes! It was absolutely heavenly and overshadowed the jobchae, which was good but not spectacular. Our waitress was exceptionally attentive. Since she herself was not ethnically Korean, she took the time to explain to us what each of the side dishes were and how to eat the hot stone bowl dishes, which my non-Asian friends really appreciated. Asian restaurants are known for having poor service, but our waitress was a little over-enthusiastic about checking in on us and refilling our water glasses. Price-wide, Seoulville is a little pricier compared to other Korean restaurants, but given its larger variety of unique dishes, I would definitely come again. read more
