I've always had positive experiences at this Sephora, and the staff has always been so fun and helpful, which is why this was so disappointing. I stopped by last night while waiting for our table to be called to quickly purchase an eyeliner and was turned away at the door because I had my dog with me. I work at LaCenterra and have visited many nearby stores without issue, so being refused entry before I could even step inside was embarrassing. I understand policies need to be followed, but the interaction felt abrupt and lacking the friendliness I've come to expect from this location. While I can't know the employee's intentions, the situation left me feeling as though my dog was judged based on her appearance and breed rather than her behavior. She's always well-behaved in public, which made the experience even more frustrating. I hope management can ensure customers are treated respectfully and consistently in the future. read more

Found this amazing store in Katy at La Cantera shops. Was greeted immediately by a friendly staff member and asked if was looking for anything in particular. Was shown where to find some hair Wow products and able to try before buy samples. I'm not really sure how a Sephora gets such low ratings, but my experience with them has always been pleasant. They are always friendly and ask if I need any assistance. I'm not really a makeup person so I just go for some lipsticks, blush and mascara and always find what I need. I have also placed online orders and they are always accurate and done very quickly and placed in the bins in the front. Parking can be a bit annoying at La centera so I always just head for the garage and park there where there is usually plenty of parking and walk over to the store. All in all its a great location with just the items I'm looking for a staff that seem to be friendly and willing to help! :) read more

I am not one to go spend hours looking at makeup. My daughter loves going to makeup stores and browsing, testing and buying tons of makeup. I have gone with her to other Sephora locations and I have to say this location in Cinco Ranch is smaller than most but I like this one the best. You would think that a smaller store would have less produces but that's not the case here. They had everything (and then some) my daughter was looking for. There was several staff members working the floor. A few asked if we needed anything but did not hover. (I don't like that) Sephora does need more than 2 cash registers though. I would not recommend going to this store because they (and I say this respectfully) have no idea what they are doing. I ended up having to go there 4 times in total because they kept on giving me products that were too dark for me and were my wrong undertones. Even when I returned the products and asked to get color matched, they still gave me the wrong color and I even found that out, when I ended up just going to Ulta. One of the makeup artists (at Ulta) explained that the specialists at Sephora gave me the wrong shade. Ironically, after she said that, even the Ulta makeup artist gave me too dark of a shade. So I have to go back tomorrow at both Sephora or Ulta and color match myself because at this point I think I could do a better job even though I do not know what I am doing. Also, something to note, the Sephora employee told me when I was first being color matched by her, "well you won't get a perfect shade," after I expressed concern over how the color looked on my skin she said exactly which at the time I didn't think anything of it because I wanted to just find my shade and leave. Now I see it as ridiculous and slightly rude, I should be able to find my perfect shade and so should other people. Not to mention the fact that the lady who was doing my makeup, midway went to another makeup artist and switched brushes with her...which I did not know for sure if that other makeup artist had used that brush on her clients face. Either way after both the makeup artists exchanged brushes, my makeup artist immediately put it on my face. So I am really hoping it was clean but I am not sure, which is very concerning. I don't ever write reviews but this literally made me reconsider ever wearing makeup again just because of how difficult it was to find my shade and for people, who are supposed to be knowledgeable about these things, give me the wrong shade EVERY TIME. You have better luck of doing it yourself or maybe even going to Ulta but again you might as well do it yourself and save yourself a mental breakdown. The even sadder thing is that most of the people at Sephora were understanding and nice, so I didn't really want to write this review but its like what the hell is going on because I do not know if the employees are so stressed out that they aren't paying attention to the customers or what, but something needs to change. Wish I could give zero stars but sadly, I have to put one. I came to this store to try and buy some makeup for a wedding I have upcoming. I am not very knowledgeable about makeup so I needed some assistance. That's when everything started to go downhill. I approached an employee by the name of Ayanna who was first off so rude, so unhelpful, and made me feel stupid because of the questions I asked her. I have never been treated with such disrespect in my life until I met this woman. The 3 stars really sums this place up, but I have only been once. The location is smaller than a Sephora you might find at the mall, so depending on what item you're looking for, you might have better luck at other Sephora's. I came looking for a cushion by Laneige. They have the masks by Laneige but that's the extent of it. Because I get so freaked out going into beauty shops (amateur with makeup), the service really makes or breaks my visit. While I didn't have a BAD representative help me, I didn't feel very welcomed, and once I pointed out that I already had the Laneige lip mask, so I probably wouldn't buy the product, she just kind of shrugged, walked away, did her own thing. She didn't really smile and greet me. I just imagine if you work in customer service, and your job is literally to help a customer, you'd be more open and friendly to people asking for your help, and I felt like she didn't really want to be talked to. read more

This Sephora is ok. I just left here. I wasn't greeted at all when I came in. I had to seek someone out to help me with a foundation match. I was referred to someone else who told me I would have to wait a bit before she could help me. Finally she asked me what I was looking for. I was fairly certain the type but needed a color match only to which she matched me. I asked her if I could have it on my entire face to ensure it was the correct color. Instead of her doing it she gave me the tools and had me do it myself which was strange. Honestly had she actually done her job I probably would have purchased more but customer service was lacking I will probably come here to pick up tonight bag I need quickly because it is close to my house and that is it. This Sephora has gone downhill in the last year or so with the new management. The store is filthy, products not stocked, lacks enough employees to meet customers needs. The Manager's excuse is that they had to cut down on employees, so "no time" to clean or for customer help. One of the worst Sephora stores I have been in. We went on Saturday night about 7pm and one of the workers had about 6 people that she knew standing in the entire aisle and were all laughing. Another worker even asked this worker to "move her party somewhere else." I wanted to buy a perfume and so I asked the cashier and she said she didn't know anything about the perfumes and I would have to ask this worker... the same worker who was laughing with her group of friends. Only problem is that when she asked me to come back the next day she had me wait for an hour, then *totally* ghosted. Would not return my text. While I understand this is not the normal purpose of this store, the manager in question was very inconsiderate to offer something then renege. At the time of purchase, I asked the clerk if she didn't like it, if it could be return it as it was a Christmas present. I was told we could, "just Keep the receipt". She did not like the dryer and we decided to return it. We went in and were told that it was past the 60 return period and it was not returnable! If I could give this place zero stars I would a product was snatched out of my hand ! I went by to try on a foundation due to the fact that everyone was so "busy" and couldn't match me. As I was applying the foundation one of the workers came and demanded I clean the brushes after I was finished ..... as if that wasn't already their job description ? Why would I have to clean a brush if I'm testing a product or what if the brush was my own to begin with or was just there when I got there ?? Never was I greeted or asked if I needed anything . I had one of the best experiences at this location than I've ever had anywhere else. I'm pretty clueless about doing my makeup and require quite a bit of help on what to buy and how to apply. I have been to other Sephora locations and paid to have people help me only to be disappointed that I didn't understand anything better and didn't get the look I wanted. That being said, I walked into the store and was greeted by Soriah and she was awesome! I told her the things I needed help with and she really listened. She did my one eye taking her time to explain what she was doing and then had me replicate it on the other eye. She also didn't push any products on me, but since she picked great products to show me in the tutorial I ended up buying some things. I was so happy to have a location close to home. I've shopped at the this location 3 times and all three times have been a horrible experience. I'm a retail store Manager so I can tell the difference between customer service and treating someone like a thief. This last time I was making a return. I had purchased it out of state and they immediately acted like I was in the wrong. The product inside the box was the wrong product. Not exactly my fault. I was exchanging for other products and the manager came up and without speaking to me told the cashier she would only exchange it. I could not have my money back. Um hello! Today I decided to go and spend some money with a gift card I received as a gift. Today according to online and my email Sephora is having a clearance sale additional 20% off clearance items only. I found the last makeup forever artists nude palette. Was asked if I was a beauty insider, and rang up. Long story short, I was wondering why my purchase price was more then my calculated sale price and I realized that they didn't take my additional 20off. So I go back into the store, go to the register and the girl insists that I paid full price and that these items weren't on sale which is why the coupon didn't work. But I told her that they were online and they were on sale. But she said that the coupon only works on clearance items. I tried to show her that online these very same items were able to use the coupons but I guess in store they aren't? Even though it clearly states "online and in store". Needless to say I just had her return everything and just left disappointed. There were a few ladies there that were helpful, but some acted like they were too good to be there and just like crowded around each other talking amongst themselves. I love Sephoras. Usually all the employees are super friendly and helpful. But at this location,there's an employee named Alexia, she has helped me more than a couple times, and my god, she is so rude!She rolls her eyes and gives an attitude. Her customer service is absolutely terrible. Anytime I ask a question, she's very rude and has told me information that was wrong! If she does not know an answer to a question, she just guesses and tells you the wrong answer without asking her manager! Glad there are other Sephora m stores I can ask and actually get a correct answer! Overall, most employees here are not helpful, nor friendly. Very disappointed!
