Went to the Katy Mills location on 2.15.26 with my daughter as we stood in line to check out, (along with the 12 other people), there was one cashier working while the other 7 or so employees were talking amongst themselves. I inquired to one of the ladies, "is it only one cashier today"?, her response, right now yes. We purchased a gift card for my niece and when she went to use it, the card had no funds on it. We tried to get them to fix it and they said it's against their policy. They could see that someone in Florida ordered online with our gift card information (we live in Texas) and they won't help us get money that was stolen from us. And this happens all the time. I was visiting from out of state, went into this location to purchase cologne during their 20% off sale. While attempting to purchase the cologne, I was told by the employee helping me (last name Smiley) that I could apply for the Sephora credit card to get the cologne for 25% off & then purchase the cologne with said credit card. I applied, got approved, & she applied the 25% off. However, when she went to charge the credit card it kept saying "account couldn't be found". She tried canceling & recreating the transaction 3 separate times, & kept getting the same message. She asked another employee, who was also confused & stated she didn't know what the problem was. Ms. Smiley then called for a separate employee with more knowledge on the matter to assist & she responded "well there's nothing I can do about that" (attitude). Ms. Smiley then presented a "solution" -- she stated "just purchase the cologne with your debit card, call the credit card company to confirm the card is active, then come back after Christmas to get a refund for the purchase on your debit card & then charge the credit card." She wrote her name on my receipt, dated it, & then disappeared" I stood there waiting for someone to charge me for the cologne, I asked "is she coming back orrr...?" They all said "we don't know" I said "well I need someone to charge my card for the cologne that I've been standing here waiting to purchase whether she's coming back or not.." The more knowledgeable (seemingly annoyed) employee said she'd do it. While at the register she stated "Idk what she (Ms.Smiley) told you, but here's the number for you to contact the credit card company". I explained to her exactly what Ms. Smiley told me I could do as far as coming back to make the refund & recharge the purchase another day. She said "Oh ok, well, as long as you have the information you need, you can come back like she said". Fast forward to yesterday, I called the credit card company, explained what happened & they stated "I'm sorry you're experiencing this Ms. Roberts, but you CAN NOT make any purchases on the credit card without the physical credit card present" Now to me, this makes absolute, perfect sense, & I find it extremely hard to believe that out of the 3 separate employees that were "helping" me, none of this were aware of this fact. It seems far more likely that they were well aware & were only interested in pushing me to open the credit card to make the purchase with the intent of reaching whatever quota, employee incentive, or "kickback" they receive for getting customers to open a Sephora credit card. I've since tried to contact the store to speak with the manager multiple times, I've left a detailed message asking for the contact information for their District Manager & they haven't returned my call. My next step is to cancel the credit card, contact corporate, & file a complaint with the BBB. Whether everyone involved is truly incompetent or whether it was intentional, either way, they found the right one. read more

I placed an order to pick up around 4, said that it would be ready same day and that would be done in under 2 hours. I called just to be sure It would be ready but when I called the girl who answered the phone said that she was "unsure" which seemed unsure of many things. She said she would ask her manager but simply just handed the phone over to her. I then mentioned what was happening and she was just saying the pickup people were gone since 3 and they were done receiving those, so I mentioned that online it said they were still taking pick up orders for same day. "Manager" did not really seem to help me understand or apologetic for the misunderstanding and confusion. Very much had a "too bad" attitude and when I asked if I could go in and pick up the products myself, she said "uhhh no" and I asked if anyone in the store was able to simply process this order quickly and me pick it up, she said nobody else knew how to do it or do the order. Which is a bit considering she was a manager and unaware on how to do things. Immediately cancelled the order, love Sephora but that store doesn't have the best employees, sticking to my normal store from now on!!!! read more
