But overall, a good place for gearing out for a fun time hiking, camping or fish/hunt I guess. Some candy & soda's are sold up by the register Incase you are starving. Staff are helpful enough, overall can't complain

They had a great selection of books ranging from books about Alaska to cookbooks and of course a vast selection of fiction books. One thing they do not have is a section for large print books (my dad asked...). They have some items that would make for a good gift as well. Although this location is tucked away in the mall, be sure to stop by if you're in the area or have a desire to visit a true brick and motor bookstore... browsing bookshelves is one of my favorite things!

Foggy Mountain Shop saved our vacation! We were on an Alaskan cruise departing from Seattle with…read moreJuneau as our first stop. The airline lost our luggage so we got on the cruise literally with what we had on our backs. We had 45 minutes in Juneau to shop between the gangway dropping and our first excursion. As we got closer, I called the store and asked if they could please pull a few things in our sizes so we could just quickly try on and run out. We ran to the store from the ship and the ladies handed my husband and I stacks to take straight to the fitting rooms. They took excellent care of us and we were in and out in 15 minutes with enough to get us through the rest of our trip. We got pants, socks, hiking shoes, shirts, undergarments, and belts. We're so thankful for the staff of Foggy Mountain going out of their way to help us in a pinch.

But, as often happens when you only have eyes for the worst of places, authentic little gems pop up to remind you that the world is pretty good indeed. Rag Doll hides in the back of a hideous multi-unit commercial shack, but it asserts itself with faux-finished walls in light colors, trendy hanging bars full of their own in-house designs, and funky accessories. It's owned and run by two local young women (emphasis on the young) who do really great unique screenprinted designs on soft, wearable American Apparel shirts, skirts, sweats and dresses. The designs are whimsical; a dandelion blowing petals across the shirt, or a jellyfish hiding on a hem. They also carry wallets and accessories by Espe, a Canadian brand, and locally-made jewelry. The store shows a discerning eye for style with a distinct local identity; it's a little oasis of fashion in the most gauche of surroundings.

Front derailleur, headset, back brakes and crank arms were barely functional. My nephew's grip fell off during the ride. These bikes have not been maintained at all. For the amount of money you spend for the tour, I'd expect a better functioning bike. The tour was nice. Great views of the area. However, our annoyed tour guide was not friendly and it came across too well. When it came time to end the tour at the brewery, Marni showed The group the location of the brewery and left. No "Thank you". She just left.
