My kids have dual citizenship and most medical procedures are free to them in Mexico if they are conveniently there when those issues need to be met. Otherwise my 18 year old only likes me splurging on his Crab Legs. He had complained about his in-grown toe nail a few weeks ago and he had previously had it surgically removed in Mexico about 2 years ago. I told him I was taking him to the podiatrist. He insisted, "mommy, it's almost summer I can wait till I'm in MX." I am so thankful that he thinks about our needs the way he does, but we have insurance! Dr. Fein's office is very neatly kept, the check in process was simple without a ton of paper work, they are following Covid protocols. It did take a long time to get called back the first time, the follow up was much quicker. Dr. Fein was diligent and very hands on in the consult of my son's painful toe. He outlined the problem, and gave us several options, then thoroughly gave instruction on the care for each option. We were able to make an informed decision that better fit us. We chose a permanent fix. The procedure was done in office same day, but we were given the option to schedule the procedure on a different day to be better prepared. My son's toe is now doing well and I firmly believe he will not have any problems in the future. My responsibility in the procedure and Medications was just a few bucks over $200.00 and well worth it for my 18 year old to avoid any future discomfort.

However, after discussing the problem I was coming in for with the front office person, the person suggested I come in the next day. They were efficient, friendly demeanors and all wearing smiles at 8:15 in the morning. Dr. Rockett himself was very professional and straightforward. That doctor wanted to perform unnecessary surgery by breaking a perfectly good bone and resetting it. He was always rushing through my appointments. He did not give me time to ask questions. So, I went to Dr Baxter for a second opinion. He ordered an MRI which showed a neuroma and he is currently doing a series of injections which are working after the second injection. I have relief and getting back to life without foot pain. Best thing is no unnecessary surgery. I have always been acknowledged by the staff when checking in and have never waited more than five minutes in the lobby area. I have been able to make and change appointments with ease. The facility is clean and state of the art. All of the staff is friendly and courteous. Dr Baxter is an amazing doctor. He takes his time to listen to your concerns and answer questions thoroughly. He does not rush through appointments at all. Texas Gulf Coast Foot and Ankle is the podiatry medicine department of the larger Texas Gulf Coast Medical Group. I am a patient of Dr. Giacomuzzi (Dr. G for short). Dr. G has been a practicing Podiatrist since 1988. He was originally with MacGregor Medical Group when I first became his patient. For those who have been in Houston a long time, you'll recall that MacGregor was a 12-clinic system associated with The Methodist Hospital System (similar to how Kelsey-Seybold is with St. Luke's) that closed in 2002. Dr. G has seem me and my immediate family for various foot ailments, multiple avulsion fractures, custom orthotics, and surgeries to remove foreign objects from our feet. Dr. G is very personable and provides excellent care. I have personally referred many people to him over the years and now I am referring him to you. In my opinion, you can always tell what type of person a physician is based upon the amount of turnover you see with his staff. Dr. G and Dr. Briggs have had the same basic staff for years with very little turnover. To me, that speaks volumes about the docs. I was given series of steroid injections, (7) was given shoe insert and orthotics and I was still in agony and pain. I was referred by someone who have had a heel spur and he have seen Dr. Mark Moss. He was given two steroids injections and when the injections failed, he was scheduled for surgery with great success. As I made an appointment with Dr. Moss I was greeted with his friendly professional staff and was taken on time to the back to see the doctor. Some X-rays were taken of my foot and shortly after I was greeted by Dr. Moss I explained my history and he gave me a few options and we agreed that surgery would be the best option and was scheduled to follow through with surgery.
