The short of it is that Grigor and his team have been nothing but professional and responsive in all the work I have needed to get done with them, but if you want the long version, keep reading. For me, dealing with paperwork of any kind is like being put through a meat grinder with the sort of anxiety that makes functioning difficult. I come from a background of poor working class family and a great deal of immigrant trauma, dealing with bureaucratic nightmares a child isn't actually equipped to handle because I was the oldest and fluent in English; some of that has given me PTSD and even OCD. Having no money myself and riddled with the aforementioned issues, I suffered greatly through the process of starting a business. With zero connections of my own, I was trying hard to find a tax professional and accountant who would be able to advise me and provide a wide range of services as I scale up the business; in the process, I found a lot of dead ends, and as ridiculous and soapy as it sounds, I even have been openly laughed at by a few lawyers and accountants who felt I was wasting their time as someone with little $ value - these people went as far as to give me bad advice, saying I should just do everything under the table since I can't possibly pay for their time. Grigor was the first dependable, responsive, and professional accountant I came across in that journey, and I'm very grateful to him and the one lawyer who took me seriously and referred me to him. Even though my startup situation and business idea are ones that people don't take seriously, he treated me as any client should be treated. Whenever I had questions, he made sure to answer as quickly as he could, especially outside of busy seasons. He's given me advice and reassurance along the way, too, when I hear so many nightmarish stories from elders and others about how they get nickel and dimed for simply asking a question about services rendered or compliance. Initially, I braced for being brushed off after paying or having my tax filings de-prioritized due to me being a client with probably the lowest $ value, and this never happened. The filings have always been prompt, just as the communications have been. While life has not gotten easier for me and I have had to table my business for the time being, I know that if I give it another shot, I would go through his firm again, and I will remain an individual client all throughout. It's hard to dodge scummy professionals out there - the people who have landed on Grigor and his team's doorstep should consider themselves fortunate. I contacted the company's owner and requested a refund, and was told by Paul Sibley he would follow-up with me the following Monday. This was in March. I have sent repeated emails, and made calls, all to be unanswered. I am now reporting them to the BBB, IRS, US Treasury Inspector General, and California State Attorney General.
