We used Fast Tax Services since 2000. We signed our 2024 documents on 2/7/2025 for electronic…read morefiling and paid them. We were to receive $ back from the State, and usually receive our state refund within a few weeks, but never received it. In March we called Fast Tax Services, who advised us they could not help us with our refund. We were unable to follow up until May and spent hours and days calling the Calif Tax Board for help. On 5/12/2025 we finally found a guy at the CA tax board who advised they had never received our 2024 filing. I called Fast Tax Services the next day and asked if our taxes had been filed with the state. If so, when they file as a responsible business, didn't they always confirm all tax returns filed? They said yes but sometimes things can "fall through the cracks." He also told me their records reflect we had not paid them! I told him we definitely paid when we signed our documents, I was very concerned and left a message for our tax preparer, to call me. He didn't, so on 5/14/2025 we checked online and then the status had changed from not being filed and reflected our 2024 Return Status as Received. We received our refund shortly afterwards. It appears Fast Tax Services hurriedly filed the state documents within the 2 days after my call. We never received a call back from our tax preparer. Would not recommend this service.

She seemed nice, but during the first interaction something seemed a little off. Call it a bad vibe, or gut feeling, something just didn't seem right. The person with me felt the same kind of "vibe". I told Laura what I was looking for, asked her what kind of documents I needed to provide, and asked what kind of timeline I might be looking at. I knew I was going to need time to go through a lot of documents in advance, scan them and provide them to Laura for taxes and others. She told me she was looking forward to working with me and would get back to me before the end of 2022 to set up a meeting. In January 2023, I made a follow-up call and was told by one of her office assistants that she would call me back. I never heard back from anyone. At the beginning of February, I began to become concerned and called her twice and was told she or her assistant would call me back. Once again, no one called. The last week of February, I visited her office in person since I was in the building. I told the office assistant Laura Bushley had said she would return my call back in December, and I had contacted her office three or four times since. The assistant took a condescending tone and said, "She will call you back, when she's ready to call you back". No one at the Laura Bushley tax office ever followed up, called me back or directly offered an explanation. I ultimately had to rush last minute to find another tax consultant to work with. It's important to me, that whoever I work with not only know how to do math and fill out tax forms, but that they also are committed to and understand the importance of customer service etiquette. I understand that "Life happens", but any kind of follow-up from her office would have been appropriate. Ultimately, I am thankful it didn't work out.
