I celebrated my birthday at Serenata with friends for an happy hour and we had a good time! Serenata is definitely worth checking out if you're around Union Market and looking for some good drinks and a great atmosphere. Here are my takeaways: Environment Serenata is a vibrant, spacious bar located in the middle of a food hall. It's a beautiful space, full of character with plenty of seating at both the bar and surrounding tables to accommodate any group size. I'm glad that I decided to celebrate my birthday here - there was plenty of room for everyone to mingle and enjoy. Service The service was great. The bartenders were friendly and made sure we were taking care of. They offered great suggestions for food and drinks and everything came out in a timely manner. We felt welcomed and appreciated. Food and Drinks The food was solid but nothing especially memorable - but I'm excited to come back and explore more of the menu. The drinks were really good and got the job done for my birthday! It was a great night for my birthday. Overall Serenata is a great spot for drinks and a great place for me to celebrate my birthday. They have plenty of great drink options that I would recommend anyone to check out. I will be back to explore more of what they have to offer.

Each time I've been here, AJ - the owner and bartender - has been stellar. Very well made and creative cocktails, without being pretentious, and a small but good menu for food.

I frequent the Union market area and have never been to La Cosecha before until the other day and I'm so glad that I did. Serenata is a bar right in the center of the food hall. The decor inside is beautiful, pulling in influences from Latin culture. After checking out a couple of the options within the food hall, I decided to go with Serenata because the bartender was so friendly and they had chilaquiles on the menu (yay! I've missed these so much since leaving CA) Some of my favorite things about Serenata was, - the customer service was amazing. The bartenders and the owner were so friendly. I definitely want to make this my staple to go and grab drinks. - they offer a house mezcal shot that they pour into your mouth for just $5... you can't beat that and it's fun and tasty - the chilaquiles was good for bar food. I did wish that the tortillas chips were made fresh and they subbed out some of the tortilla chips for beans. I would come back and get it again though. Some other guests had the breakfast sandwich and it looked delicious too. - lastly, the guava mimosa was chefs kiss. How often do you get guava as a mimosa flavor ?? It was an immediate yes. Thank you to the team at Serenata and wishing you tons of success

I love this little gem in Union Market. Woman owned and they make the best drinks! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Finally made it to Serenata and certainly wasn't disappointed. The cocktails are delicious, the snacks are tasty, and the bar seating and aesthetic makes you feel like the night is young and anything is possible. For snacks we ordered the chicken empanadas and the pandebonos. They were both good, but the chicken empanada was amazing. They have interesting rules that could affect your visit - you must be seated in order to sip on any alcohol. So, if you don't have a seat, you can't drink drinks with alcohol. It's probably because of the nature of the space the bar is located within.

We came here for a quick bite to eat before going out for the night and the chickpea empanadas were sooooooo good. I was so surprised but they were made perfectly and I think of them often ! I got some type of mojito wasn't really good but the frozen drink they have was a 10/10 it was really good. All bartenders were super attentive and kind the entire time. Definitely will be coming back , this is a bar so there is mostly bar seating but there are other restaurants and bars in the facility

Five of us came here for a cocktail before going to dinner. We were very dressed up. I asked for the Danielle which they took off the menu but she made it for me anyway. Loved! My friend loved his margarita 2.0z. Loved the amapola too! The owner really knew her stuff!

I wasn't sure what to expect since I just wandered into Le Cosecha Market but these are some of the best damn cocktails I've ever had in my entire life. They take reservations on Resy and as this place gets more rave reviews I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes difficult to get into. #1 Lado Oscura de la Luna $17 Rujero Singani, Cherry-Serrano Reduction, Fino Cherry, Walnut Bitters, Aquafaba, Lemon, Citrus Ash *this was my favorite cocktail hands down, it was frothy, sweet, spicy and savory - a ridiculously innovative concoction #2 French Kissed in Jalisco $16 Mijenta Blanco Tequila, St. Germain Elderflower Liquer, Dolin Blanc, Gentian Aperitif *So after speaking with the bartender and mentioning I like Old Fashioned cocktails and tequila he immediately knew what to make me and it definitely did not disappoint, it was complex with a fun garnish #3 Nacional Royal $15 Ten to One Dark Rum, Chicha De Pina, Averna Amaro, Sparkling Wine *well balanced and fizzy The cocktails were beyond exceptional and the service was amazing. If I could I'd spend my entire paycheck on every cocktail on their drink menu and happily be carried out.

First time here and I absolutely fell in love! If you're looking for a more upscale drink scene than Union Market, look no further. We had seats at the bar and were greeted right away, we got a chance to look at the cocktail menu (super extensive and inviting btw) and chose accordingly. I went with the Fiero Margarita and was not disappointed one bit! We also tried the Black bean dip & chips, it's loaded with tajin so it's a refreshing change from your typical refried dip. Both bartenders were superb, quick service and so very personable! Drinks are moderately priced, which is even more of a reason to return!

Hands down one of the best cocktail bars in DC. We stopped in on the earlier side to avoid the evening rush and everything was perfect-- I don't remember the names of the drinks we ordered but they were boozy but also balanced. Perfect drinks to sip on and talk. The menu was also extensive, so if you prefer lighter drinks, they have those too. Ambiance is also on point. Serenata is in the middle of La Cosecha so there's a lot going on around you, but you still feel like you're in your own little world. And there's shopping at the other businesses for when you're ready to go and a bit tipsy-- my favorite time to shop!

Review for the To-go alcoholic drinks being sold outside! This past Sunday, I was chilling with one of my girlfriends grabbing coffee around 1pm and catching up, and we kept hearing this great music come from the other side of the sidewalk. We saw this lovely person jamming to the music and just giving off great vibes, so we had to check it out! Turns out this wonderful person works for Serenata and was hanging outside selling their to-go alcoholic beverages so we had to try it! We got the Ciudad Paradiso (bourbon drink) - contains nuts by the way. Well, it was so good and just what we needed on this hot Sunday. Thank you Serenata! I will be back to try other drinks!!

cold almost frozen bean dip

The ambiance of the bar is nice and the drinks look cute, but the service is eh. The bartenders are rude, they just want to give you your drink and go. While serving food I expected some type of dining experience or care for the customer. The bartenders never check back on you unless you wave them down. The drinks are strong, but not a well balanced cocktail. The food is disgusting to be honest. I'm not a picky eater at all. We got the bean dip and empanadas. The bean dip was served cold, I understand if it comes that way but if the customer is expressing they dislike it atleast offer to replace it with something else or some type of solution/care. The bartender was like well that's just how it comes. The empanadas were interesting. Cheesy cauliflower, but came with a sweet and sour type sauce. Didn't pair well. Tasted like frozen food. The tortilla chips I swear are from the Trader Joe's next door. I was a server and bartender for 5 years. The service was mid, and the food trash. Better off going the other Mexican restaurant in La Cosecha that serves excellent food, great cocktails and friendly service. I honestly didn't want to even pay for the food we didn't finish but could tell the bartender didn't give a fuck. So we just paid and left. I've given Serenata 3 chances. Won't be going back and I'm spreading the word.

It's a basement bar with a bit of a dive vibe, but it's hard to ignore the nautical, blue crab theme throughout. Turns out that one of the owners is a Marylander, which is cool to see reflected in the decor in a place in dc, even though it is next door. They have a happy hour and they have a great variety of drinks in general. It's bring-your-own-food (BYOF) and there are a bunch of delicious looking Asian spots nearby, including upstairs. It didn't start getting crowded until closer to 10, which, as I said, is surprising for this part of town to me. Everywhere in Chinatown is not going to be packed and busy, and this place is here to remind you of that. Stop by if you're looking for a more chill vibe. Staff are pretty cool.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!
