I was still wishing I had stayed to eat it there but it traveled well too. Also had the classic cigars, little rolls of meat crisp fried, served with a honey dip. Came here with friends and the food was delicious! The medium well steak I got was tender and went well with the roasted cauliflower flatbread that my boyfriend got. My roommate just picked up a to go order and they made her check out an entire separate check for $1.65 for the worst chipotle mayo I've ever tasted in my life. Abysmal service can really impact a diner's experience. Such was the case here yesterday. If I was judging CR solely on their food, I'd rate them higher. Unfortunately, a series of mistakes, service apathy, and later, combativeness, made CR a one and done for me. My friend and I stopped in for a late lunch ahead of our train home yesterday. We were seated at a table right away, which we appreciated. Otherwise we would've grabbed bar seats. Our server asked what we'd like to drink. My friend ordered the fall sangria and I said I'd do the same. She later only brought one sangria so I mentioned I had ordered one too. She gave me a disgruntled face and then headed back to the bar. When she came back, my sangria didn't have any fruit in it like my friend's, so I asked for some. She looked extremely irritated at this point but took it back to add some. We each ordered from the pastrami section, so over $20 each for the sandwiches. I asked to sub the ketchup for mayo for my fries that came with the Cuban and that wasn't a problem. Until the bill came and I was charged $1.50 for the mayo. I mentioned this to the server and she couldn't have looked more agitated. She said that their Mayo is "house made" and it's on the menu so I guess I should've apparently just known about the literally insane upcharge. I told her that I would've appreciated if she had told me about the upcharge. She eventually agreed to take it off the bill, but her energy was extremely rude. I also checked the photos I took of the menu...not on it. It's only on their website, which...why would I look at that when I was given a hard copy? I try to give servers grace being that it's not an easy job, but I work in customer service myself and would never behave that way. I would've asked for a manager but by that point we needed to hustle to our train. Of note, she never checked on us after our food was delivered -- we had to hail her over for checks. And my friend ordered donuts that were also never brought over. She was bummed since she was craving something sweet. All told, our experience here was the opposite of sweet. read more

CR Noma was conveniently located around the corner from my hotel, on a night I didn't feel like venturing out very far. As luck would have it, Happy Hour was in full swing. The place has such a cool vibe; it screams "bring your friends, your family, perhaps a stranger, and stay awhile". The tile and lighting are beautiful. There's a mix of tables to chose from - benches, booths, the bar. Something for everyone. I honestly wasn't expecting to have my socks knocked off by an eight dollar old fashioned, but I pleasantly surprised. It had all the essential elements of a good whiskey base, a Luxardo cherry, the perfect orange twist, balanced bitters, and a block ice cube. It was so good that I had more than one on both of my visits over my week in DC. Something to look forward to on my next visit to DC! read more

Always a good choice when in the neighborhood. I first went for weekend brunch with a friend awhile ago and it was awesome with their mimosas and food. Recently, on another DC visit, we went for their new lunch where the menu is much more limited but we had awesome kebabs and hummus, and the bread with the hummus is to die for. Soft, pillowy pita, not the kind you can buy anywhere. The kebabs were awesome. I'd eat here again but likely dinner where you can get the full menu. Great ambiance too! read more

Went to CR NoMa on New Year's Eve and had a wonderful time. Things got off to a great start before we even got there because they graciously allowed us to move our reservation time at the last minute. When we arrived our server immediately let us know that happy hour prices were ending in a few minutes so that she could quickly get our first drink order in. We were pleasantly surprised to see they had a special NYE menu - $75 for 3 courses including a glass of bubbly! It was a great deal and we got to try a lot of things. Standouts were the delicious pita bread with dips, the chicken kabob was so tender it practically melted in our mouths, and the lamb chops were cooked perfectly. The service was warm and friendly and we appreciated that the music was at good volume, loud enough to enjoy but low enough to have a normal conversation. We will be back! read more

CR NoMa was one of the first places I went after moving to DC almost 5 years ago, and it has remained a favorite since. I often come here solo for Happy Hours on Fridays, but I've been here for work events, group Happy Hours, brunch, etc. and all have been good. At this point, I've tried quite a bit of both their food and drink menu, and I can honestly say that I haven't had anything that *wasn't* good here. I absolutely love their seasonal cocktails (the various flavored margaritas are always on point). I've had a hard time finding wings that I like in DC, and theirs are among the best that I have had, in general. They have interesting wing flavors on Wednesdays (and you can get takeout/delivery on these flavors from their ghost kitchen every day, I believe), and the ones that are on their standard, daily menu (Lemon Tahini) are really tasty, too. They are perfectly cooked, with a crispy outside and tender inside. They fall off the bone. Outside of their wings, I also highly recommend the crispy Dutch potatoes, the classic cigars, the whipped ricotta (really amazing - their pita bread is warm, fluffy, and garlic-y, and the ricotta is a perfect balance with the honey), and the shrimp avocado Flatbread. But, again, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Additionally, the staff is great. Always welcoming and quick on service. This is really what keeps me coming back above all else. The food and drinks *can* be a bit pricey, but it's really not bad compared to standard DC pricing. Overall, I highly recommend CR NoMa, and it is my go-to spot to bring people when I have visitors from out of town (and they always rave about it). read more

I absolutely LOVE coming here! Let me start off with their CR burger which is really good! Their sauce really compliments the rest of the ingredients. Secondly, their wings are absolutely DELICIOUS and a must have! I've had them at night and for brunch and they are always consistently bomb. I've done brunch & bottomless mimosas here and I must say, it's becoming one of my favorite spots! They keep the mimosas coming and ensure you're well taken care of. We finished up with a Sufganiyah! Which I would go back to eat just those! It is a fried dough (for those Natives reading or people from the southwest is basically small fry bread) with lemon butter and raspberry jelly! I'm a fan!!
