There are also various Halloween/Gothi themed items that are there throughout the year. Definitely worth the time to check it out for a unique gift this holiday season. There is a lot to love about the awesome things they do for the community, but the Buy Local Gift Fair has to be one of my favorites. The Fair has become so popular that they have outgrown their original home at the Lakefront Brewery Palm Garden. This was the first year is was held at the Mitchell Park Domes and it was laid out wonderfully. The issue with most Art/Craft/Other product fairs like this is that 6 foot tables are packed into a small room side by side in rows that allows for little movement of humans in between (sadly I just incurred one of these fairs yesterday). It's very hard to shop with people slamming into you, strollers rolling on your feet and the environment being too hot and too loud. So kudos to Buy Local for eliminating all those distractions and providing a serene and beautiful environment to enjoy this event in. I had never been to the Domes during the holidays so it was nice to taken in all the cheer between moments of shopping for local wares. So of my very favorite vendors where here (the list is in one of the photos below). And product highlights include: Becky's Blissful Caramels - The Dark Chocolate Sea Salt and Sangria caramels are stellar, but the Lakefront Brewery Beer and Pretzel Caramel is a game changer for sure. Indulgence Chocolates - So many great chocolates, but the seasonal Peppermint Chocolate Bar will rock your world. Jean's Clay Studio - Absolutely beautiful locally handcraft pottery from Potter Jean Wells! If you've seen the Collectivo Mug Collection each fall that's her work! Love Dust - Ethnic Spice Blends that create the fab flavors behind the Fast Foodie Food Truck Globaco line are now available for retail sale, and they are spectacular! Melthouse Bistro - Grilled Cheese is always appropriate and Melthouse makes some of the best. Milwaukee Empty Bowls - Furthering their mission and selling bowls and cookbooks from the annual fall event. #GiveMke Milwaukee Home - Embracing the spirit of the city in one awesome brand, gotta love it. Milwaukee Mustard Company - Small batch, locally prepared mustards that will have you rethinking your condiment game! Tomah Tang Cranberry, Bronzeville Buzz Honey Mustard (made with Walnut Way honey), Spicy Stout Beer Mustard (made with Milwaukee Brewing Company Polish Moon beer) and Whiskonsin Whiskey Mustard (made with Great Lakes Distillery KK Whiskey) are some of the most unique and delicious mustards you will encounter. Simmer Cafe - Scrumptious soups and sandwiches for the proprietors of the Simmer Truck and newly opened Simmer Cafe should not be missed when you have the opportunity. Tall Guy & a Grill Catering - Those meatballs. Hand rolled per the specifications in Grandma Betty's recipe. You will never look at meatballs the same after having these. And the housemade bloodies and mac and cheese bites will round out any great meal. Watch for their first retail product, Bourbon BBQ Sauce coming very, very soon! Treat Spiced Nuts - One of the most appropriately named companies EVER! Because these spiced and candied almonds and pecans are a huge treat to eat. And Milwaukee gets to claim them as their own! Top Note Tonics - A newer locally formulated concentrated syrup that will flavor or enhance any beverage it's mixed into. Add to seltzer water to create a tonic base, or do as many local bartenders and use drops for subtle, layered flavors. With over 50 fabulous local vendors and an enthusiastic crowd is was impossible to stop at each table and write about their amazingness. But to truly appreciate the love and dedication that goes into each and every small businesses product you should really check out these vendors for yourself. This was the inaugural year for the CCC Craft Fair and they opened like a season pro…read more Turner Halls seems to lend itself well to these type of events (it was the home to two other large scale fairs this season) and CCC had no trouble finding their way. The second floor ballroom and the third floor balcony were packed with fun and exciting (and local) vendors with awesome wares to sell to the large and eager to shop crowds. There was a great mixed of vendors from soapmakers to jewelry designers to accessory crafters to card makers to fair trade stands. And plenty of suggestions for those on your list that are challenging to buy for. CCC is a very welcome addition to the holiday fair game and the local artisans I know are very glad to have a fair this wonderful to sell their merch! I know this is a bit long but details are important when you've been taken advantage of…read more I took my gold ring with diamonds and the marquise cut black jade stone (intact) that had come out of the setting, to Tobin's Jewelers to be reset. A few days later I was told they could not use the jade stone, and could insert a black onyx stone in its place. I approved the use of onyx, trusting what he told me. When I picked up the ring and asked for the jade stone back as it is valuable, I was told they threw it away. I filed a police report and their story changed, saying the stone was crushed (it wasn't) and could not be used, so they threw it away. Why would anyone take a crushed stone in to be reset in a ring? Now they say the jade was too worn and that they gave it back to me (they didn't). After that experience I questioned the repair I had taken to Tobins 11 months ago. I had a family heirloom, my mother's antique gold baby ring, missing the small ruby that was lost many years ago. I paid $472 (I have the receipt) to have a new ruby put in the baby ring and two prongs repaired. This was a gift for my great granddaughter, who shares the same birth month as her great great grandmother, born in July 2021. I took the ring to an independent gemologist for appraisal and my fear was confirmed, it is a fake ruby. It's embarrassing to admit I was scammed but if it helps someone avoid a similar fate then it's worth sharing my story. I have yet to hear from Tobin's to resolve the concerns. Detailed receipts, pictures, description of work to be done, fair and honest pricing, superb customer service, licensed/certified gemologist and goldsmith.

The last thing I needed that day was a key chain. I wandered into the Trophy shop to kill time…read morebefore another appointment. I thought a small trophy would make a cute personal gift for a relative, friend, or business associate when the owner brought out a keychain. Not just an ordinary keychain. This one was crystal with an engraving inside of someones pet. I was told that with a photo of the pet or person a precise likeness was engraved and placed inside the crystal, and when a small button was pushed it even lit up. Wow,, What a neat gift that would make for my daughter. I spent the next 2 weeks at her house 100 miles away desperately attempting to get just the right pic of her much adored dog never believing just what I would see when I picked it up. I was stunned.. It WAS the dog. Not just the copy of a Border nor a drawing or painting. How they did it was beyond me. My daughter was beyond thrilled, and said it was the best gift she was ever given, and I was the greatest mom in the world. How cool is that!
