This may very well be the happiest place on earth, no offense to Mickey Mouse. Ever since I was a child I've loved stickers, drawing, colorful things, journaling -- all those types of things. I got my very own set of personalized stationery when I was 13 and thought I was THE SH*T (Reader: I was, in fact, not.). My first job was at a gift shop and my favorite part was wrapping presents. Walking into Broadway Paper was like going to Mecca. HUGE selection of gift wrap. Gorgeous pens all in a row. Stickers. Notebooks. Plushies. Gifts for everyone on your list. Wisconsin merch. Everything is so colorful and happy. I could have easily gone broke in there but limited myself to a handful of cards, a Christmas ornament, and a vinyl sticker. Such a cute stationary store! We were strolling down Broadway when we stumbled upon this super cute shop. When you walk in, they have a mailbox for you to purchase a stamp and mail a postcard to send to someone. They have locally designed artwork, and Milwaukee branded goodies. From pens, to stationary, to cards and more. They also have a decent pet and themed sections. You can personalize invitations, gift boxes and more. The sky is the limit! I love this store! It is so much fun to stop in with friend to look at the stuff together. The store is filled with a ton of themed tables of items that make great gifts, or lets be honest, gifts for yourself. Some of the themed tables are cats, dogs, girl power/inspirational women, Milwaukee, wedding, bachelorette/bridal party, birthday, gifts for that man in your life, childrens gifts and so much more. They also have several coffee table books that are fun to take a look at. There really is something for everyone! In addition to all the gift options there is an endless supply of funny and adorable, not to mention impeccably made, cards. I've easily spent 20 minutes alone just looking at the cards. You'll also find wrapping paper and gift bags for any occasion. I have never bought any of their paper/paper supplies, but have perused the paper and it is gorgeous. Seriously the cutest stationary/paper place I have been to in a while. i am from CA and there's not that many great ones out there in the West. In the entrance there was this cute Christmas display made with all paper products; so beautiful! This is such a well-lit and large store that I was in there for about an hour simply perusing and admiring everything. Environment - clean, friendly, light, airy. I loved everything about this place. I felt really comfortable browsing on my own and not once did I feel burdened to speed up or leave because I was being a slow-poke. Shelving for all products is nicely done and there's ample space for standing around and admiring. Products - cutest products ever. I love that they carry Kate Spake and other high-end, beautiful products. I love the hand-made products. They even have one series of children books here that I loved when i was a child. This place is really fun. I love the art of letter writing and they have lots of paper that you can choose from to write letters to your friends. In addition they have wrapping paper that is unique and journals and so much more! They also offer services for parties and weddings for you to design your own. I think I've mentioned this in pretty much every review I've ever written about paper stores, but I have a serious addiction to all the things they sell in these establishments... Quirky cards? I buy them for future use and stash them away. Fun notebooks? I have 30. Odd books with quotes about manners or some such thing? Sure, why not. Kid books for my toddler? Definitely. I just can't shop here anymore. I love supporting local businesses, but Broadway Paper sells maybe one or two things that are uniquely-Milwaukee. Everything else is available--for at least half the price--online at Paper Source. I've happily paid a few dollars more at a local shop for a product--I understand there's markup. But a 500yd roll of red & white baker's twine costs $7.95 online. Broadway Paper charges $35.00. Come on. And I could look past their tremendous markup (they are located in the Third Ward, after all), but their customer service is awful. Dismissive, rude, slow and just not helpful. Bad service is a total deal breaker for me. read more

Where do I go when I am feeling down? This place! I am a die hard fan of paper in all forms - art, books, letters, stationary, cards etc. paper just feels warm and friendly and is beautiful. They have a beautiful selection of single page wrapping papers, handmade greeting cards, invitations for all events, journals, gift books and local themed gift items. The front tables are always changing with an assortment of fun items for the home or office. Treat yourself to a new notepad for the kitchen or some cotton towels. I came into the store with high hopes, and purchased two cards for a wedding and an engagement party later in the month. I asked about the return policy, since I knew that one may be returned if my friend did not want the card. I was told by staff that as long as I had the receipt, it would be fine. I came back a month later, after the engagement party, to return the unused card. Staff told me that was not possible, and said that what I was told previously was wrong. I asked to speak to the manger, as the card was overpriced, $10, and staff told me she was busy. I left my name and number to be called back. It has been four months, and I was never contacted. I always try to support local business, but the insolence of this company has deterred me from ever coming back. Truly horrible service, Broadway Paper! Truly! read more

Broadway Paper is a lovely shop in a lovely location. This is a great place for gifts and treats for yourself. When I went they had City Tins for sale, which were sold out online! I love their wrapping paper, gift tags, and bows. These items could really class up your wrapping. My classy mother taught me how to wrap presents, so I know how, but I'm also my father's daughter and don't see the problem with wrapping with brown bags and duct tape in a pinch. Broadway Paper wouldn't let you get to that point. read more

So, real talk, Milwaukee: this store isn't meant for folks like me. I'm not on Pinterest, my writing all takes place in a Word Document, and I can count the number of cards I've sent in the last five years on one hand...and those were all to my grandma! I ducked in here to on a recent trip to the Third Ward so that I could collect my thoughts and escape the incessant noise of a nearby piledriver that was pounding pillars into the ground for some new construction. I can only imagine the confusion inside the clerks minds when somebody who looked more like he belonged on that job site than in their store started browsing their shelves. The selection, to my ignorant brain, seemed to offer a wider sample of papers, cards, wrappers than one could ever find a use for. My eye started to twitch after perusing the celebrations of birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries. The thought that there's a market that keeps this place afloat blew my reptile brain apart. I think I'm going to start wax stamping my envelopes closed from now on. There's just something appealing about the thought of the electric company receiving my check stamped closed with my initials like some sort of medieval lord. Super cute store with paper galore! I'm a poet and.... OK so I shopped out my wedding invites to 5 different places and if you can believe it, the most bang for my buck was at Broadway Paper which I was not expecting. If you choose one of their more reasonably priced designs (without a whole lotta customization), you should escape unscathed from the wedding money monster. I was able to get letter press. Yes. Letter press. On really nice thick paper. They turned out amazing. The other places I went to told me that letter press was a whole nother BEAST. As in, not in my budget. Really? We were so pleased with their work and the friendly staff (Kate is great!) that we also ordered our menu cards from them as well. Two thumbs up! read more

I love local crafts, and Broadway paper is abounding with Wisconsin and Milwaukee pride. From a cheese plate with the state on it to prints of the city to coffee mugs to even a puzzle, Broadway paper loves where it lives. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! My boyfriend bought me a huge bagful of gewgaws from Broadway Paper, unfortunately almost none of which I would use or want (not because they aren't pretty, but because I have too much stuff as it is)! Everything was unopened, still in the bag provided by Broadway Paper, but boyfriend was unable to find the receipt. We figured if they wouldn't do credit card returns, at least they'd do an in-store credit. NOPE! They flat-out said they would NOT even look up the receipt using the purchasing credit card and would NOT consider any in-store credit - even though the items were only purchased a few days ago, were never opened, in excellent shelf-ready condition...what is wrong with these people? Terrible customer service. They said we have to follow the rules. Rules are rules! Okay, our rule is to NEVER EVER SHOP THERE AGAIN and to tell everyone we know to beware of that store. Just awful.
