La Lumiere is my favorite massage boutique. They have parking, goodies to sip or snack on in the…read morecozy lobby, and treats to purchase - which I love. Special shoutout to the receptionist who recommended the fruit loops candle. I really like it! Booked with Rebecca for the first time and she was AMAZING. I've been going to La Lumiere for several years here and there and have gotten some very good massages. Rebecca is thee best therapeutic massage therapist I've ever experienced. Hands down. Do yourself a favor and book her.

I've been getting massages for over 40 years, and I was really looking forward to a foot soak and…read moremassage at LaLumiere after reading the Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible for the following reasons: 1. On the page under "Massage Enhancements - Epsom Foot Soak" the business promises an Epsom Foot Soak for new clients to enjoy while they fill out paperwork. I arrived 15m before my appointment and asked about the foot soak. The receptionist was not at the desk, so the question was posed to a massage therapist who showed up and said that the receptionist was preparing it. I was given paperwork to fill out which I did without the aforementioned foot soak. 2. When I was shown to the massage room, the foot bath was there, and I asked whether the 15m foot soak would be counted as part of my massage. The therapist, Anita, left the room for 10m (part of my massage time now) and came back to say that the foot soak would not be offered. Instead she said she would add on a paraffin treatment for my hands and feet. 3. The actual "deep tissue" massage was a lot of petting and short superficial strokes. She did identify and dig in deeper to sore glut muscles which helped relieve some tension, but it was not the deep tissue massage I had expected, and she did not address my primary concern (bursitis). 4. She ended the massage after 50 minutes (minus the time she left the room). 5. She never followed through with the promise of a paraffin treatment. Even though I was offered a discount, I left more stressed than I arrived. This is not the way to treat anyone. Never promise something you can't deliver.

I definitely do not recommend this place. The lady who speaks very little English wanted me to take…read moreoff all my clothes despite me telling her I just wanted a massage on my shoulders. She pull down my pants haft way down when there was no need. I felt like they have hidden cameras. At the end, when I payed she asked me for a $10 dollar tip, which I thought was rude. I didn't even liked the massage it was shorter than what it should've been so I didn't feel like leaving a tip and she was very upset at me for not wanting me to leave a tip. She almost chased me out the door yelling. I thought I was going to get murdered, so left all panicked. I will never return there nor recommend this place it is not safe.

Having had back surgery this past year, I began with a Physical Therapist that ,when my "paid for'…read more treatments ended, I could no longer afford traditional care and looked for alternative facilities from which to receive some care and relief. Here. There! I tried just about everywhere. I'm not intending to point out anyone else's poor service. Most providers in Salem were very good, BUT they were NOT "Annie" at Happy Holiday, and who's care and ministrations are decidedly ~extraordinary~. Sure, my back scar was a pretty obvious source of pain and stiffness, but Annie's fingers worked their magic as she seemed to know intrinsically where my problems emanated from. She gently worked the soft tissues with great tenderness but in the full scope stiffened her resolve to include my deep tissue issues and the relaxation of my whole being. On my drive home I was fully satisfied and happily content. I've been going to her whenever possible for over a year now and will continue to seek relief with her for as long as possible. Thank you Annie!!
