Although it is true that they only provide a handful of toilet paper and towels I would recommend bringing your own soap, towels, TP, and even blankets. The ac at first did not want to go under 70 but maintenance fixed it same day, slept thru the nights with a cool 68 degrees. Aside from the great view, you will love those nights coming back from the beach and jumping in to the jacuzzi to relax. The 'private beach' was covered in trash everyday. It was very sad and disappointing to see all the…read moretrash. My family and I spent mornings picking up trash because it was so bad. I would never stay at Pelican Beach Resort again nor would I recommend it to any one! The staff was very unhelpful and lacked communication. The code to my room was changed in the middle of my stay without notice or explanation. Then, I was charged additional fees due to a broken door that was NOT our fault. I attempted on two different days to speak with someone regarding this issue in person before leaving and no one would get back with me. I kept being told, "It's being reviewed." I am still, after 24 hours of leaving a voicemail with the Rental Manager, waiting a return call. The first night we were there, security shut down all the pools at 8pm because there was some type of party beforehand and they did not want those people coming back to the pool. Instead of kicking those people out, they closed the pools to all the other paying guests. My experience was absolutely NOT worth the price we paid to stay at a resort with a private beach.

When you pay $200 for a round of golf you expect to have a good experience and enjoy the scenery…read more The course is ok (nothing spectacular for the price) but the main reason this is a one star review is because our round was completely ruined because we were told by a ranger on hole 3 to speed up when we were 4 minutes behind pace but that was only because the group in front of us was slow. (He said he told group in front of us so what's the point of coming to us). I guess they expected us to hit into the group in front. Absolutely ridiculous to come say anything at all to us when we were being held up by group in front. It pissed us off so much with their negative energy at the start that it ruined our round. Never been so hawkeyed on a round in my life and our group typically plays pretty fast and after some shots would add unnecessary negative commentary. Waste of money playing this course and they should be ashamed of themselves for telling a group to speed up when it's actually impossible when group in front is the reason for the slow play and especially on such an early hole!

Our foursome had a 12:30 tee time with expectations of a 4-4.5 hour round ( we had a 7:30 flight) …read more Unfortunately, there was a group of 6 in front of us (4 players and 2 riders). Apparently this was a bachelor party outing ( lots of drinks and high fives). We waited on EVERY hole. After finally having enough , we called the clubhouse and asked for help. The ranger came by and asked what the issue was and then drove away in the opposite direction! After 16 holes (4.5 hours) we had to quit playing. For $160 , I think one should decent course management. Clearly that is not their management philosophy. Not a good value !!
