I was recommended to check in with Peggy to see if she could work my taxes now that I was filing married, but separately. It was a little bit of a drive for me to get to Stockton from Dixon, but it was well worth the drive. Before I had my appointment, Ashley (office manager) contacted me and sent me a general questionnaire to fill out ahead of time. She also asked me to email copies of my prior year's tax return as well as any relevant tax documents. This would allow Peggy to have prior knowledge of my finances before I drove all the way to Stockton. When I arrived for my appointment, Ashley greeted me and offered me a drink and I sat down in the waiting area. I only waited for a few minutes and then went back to the office to meet Peggy. The first thing I noticed was that she was well-prepared with all my documents and knew what questions to ask. She told me facts about taxes that I did not know, so that was super helpful. I had numbers run through TurboTax and was going to owe a significant amount of Federal and State taxes. After Peggy used her tax knowledge to work her magic, she ended up saving me over $1000! I rarely post reviews but in this case I am happy to do so. I was with my previous tax person for over 25 years and after her passing I was very nervous about making the switch. I have three different entities along with my personal taxes so tax season can be rather stressful even in the most familiar of situations. Peggy left Taxes 'N Books, Inc. after the owner Judy died from COVID-19 which was my lifelong friend since 1989 our sons grew up together. Peggy took all of my information with her to start her new business. Peggy had NO right to take our information. In January 2021 I received a letter from Serenity tax services with all the same information letter and the game from taxes 'N Books. I never replayed to the letter. Today 06/27/022 I received a call from Serenity Tax services asking if I was ready to do my taxes and that she filed a tax extension on my behalf. Peggy had NO Right to do so. My taxes where were already completed in March be Taxes 'N Books. HOW DARE YOU PEGGY!!!! read more
