Went here with my wife and what a bad experience! Younger sales girl was very nice but the older lady is like a Prison Warden barking orders at my wife who had brought her own cap as she does anytime we've gone wig shopping for her and other stores have no issues. The Warden, with an aggressive tone, said we had to buy a new cap for $5.00, to not touch the wigs or take any photos!! What are they hiding?!! I informed my wife we're done with this place and got the heck out. We spent close to $1k at another better wig store called US Wigs on Maryland Parkway. Much better service and prices there. I have just started chemo and before I lose my hair I wanted to try on some wigs. We drove across town because we thought it would be a nice relaxing afternoon. From the second we walked in the woman was unfriendly and cold. She had me pick out a few wigs to try on after informing me not to remove the wigs, she will do that! She got me a wig cap then stood there and looked at me? She said you need to pay for the cap before we begin. So I paid 5.00 for a cap and then tried on the first wig, I turned to my sister so she could see and take a picture to show my husband, we were yelled at NO PICTURES! Signs are posted everywhere! I took off the wig and the wig cap and said I will not be spending any money here. The woman said she was sorry that we can't take pictures but it's the rule. I told her it's not the picture but her attitude is so off putting. What I was hoping to be a fun afternoon trying to make the best out of a hard situation had me leaving in tears. I was fully prepared to spend a few thousand dollars on a good wig but to have someone treat me so coldly. You need to get employees that understand how scary it is to lose your hair. I wanted to feel pampered and that it's going to be okay. I shouldn't have left there crying. I have just received a reply from "owners" that my sister was off putting? She never said one thing negative to anyone! She even said that it was a good idea to sanitize your hands before looking at the wigs. I went here with my friend/stylist to help me pick out a wig. The staff was very kind and helpful and I found a wig I fell in love with. However, it was not until we reached the register that we learned the wig was over $4000. I anticipated paying more for human hair, but this why quite the sticker shock. I came in with my sister who is just starting Chemo. My job is a permanent makeup artist, and i do my clients with cancer for free, so I've worked with hundreds of women in wigs and am quite familiar. The woman helping us (I didnt get her name...she had long brown hair) was cold and quite rude from the second we walked through the door. We didn't get a chance to look at the human hair wigs, but the others were cheap looking and the prices were outrageous...$3500 to $5000. She only tried on one wig, and I wanted to take a picture to show her husband and our other sister. No pictures allowed. So weird, cold and uncaring for someone dealing with a fragile Chemo patient/client. If you're looking for a fun day trying to make the most of a really tough situation. Look elsewhere. There are hundreds of other options...and they have nothing more appealing than any I've seen on Amazon....which you can try on and return. If I were the owner, I would install a camera and see how his patrons are treated. read more

However what I loved the best about this shop was the privacy! Some people like me feel so uncomfortable trying on wigs. This is a fun place. You cannot go in and leave without a wig. It feels like a shop from the 1950's, which for me is part of the charm but I wonder if being a little more modern in some ways would help. They don't advertise, and frankly, if you want a wig you're going to figure it out and find them. My point being, my friends and I have come here with no intent to buy a wig, but end up with at least one, meaning it in fact is an impulse buy if you can get people in the store. The reason I dinged them two stars is they are not very welcoming. They have theft issues, with women running in, grabbing wigs and running out. So they keep the door locked and look at you with suspicion as you knock to be let in. I get it, but it definitely doesn't make you feel welcome. read more

I did an online search looking for wig makers and this came up as one of the places closest to me. I called to ask them if they sew bands into wigs and the lady on the phone said no and then I asked her if she knew where I could find a good wig maker and she snidely replied that I should just search online. How rude! I told her I did search online and they were one of the first people who came up. Things are crazy enough in this world people don't need to be rude. To start off on a Positive Note ... both Gals (the hairdresser and the Manager) were very nice and helpful. My neighbor and I went in to try on wigs as soon as they opened. We were required to purchase a wig cap (for $5.00) even though we each had a brand new wig cap to use; that's just their policy. Okay, that's fine. Also, you are NOT allowed to take photos at any time OR FaceTime with anyone if you have a wig on (my friend wanted to FaceTime and asked for permission, but was told "no"). I purchased a wig that day, (see pic below) my neighbor ordered a few so that she could match her hair. We came back the following week and she purchased several. Between us, we spent just under $1,000.00. The only "complaint" if you want to call it that was I saw (after our visit/purchases) on their Site, if you mention "Blondie" you will receive 20% off your wig purchase. Now, I'm not saying either one of these gals had the "obligation" to tell us about the 20% off, but it would have been nice and I personally would have saved over $70.00 + it wouldn't really do any harm ... would it? By the way, we were reimbursed for the $5.00 wig cap charge. My hair gal did tell me that the wig was of very good quality (it is not human hair/it is acrylic). That's my review. Hope it helps you. We wanted to take a look at some wigs for my mother whom is willing to spend some doe, BUT the old African American woman who was at the entrance told my mother that "They are only taking in serious buyers" like WTF! Never again! First of all I got there at like 5:40 pm and they are supposed to open until 6pm and the doors were already locked. Not cool. The sales lady that "helped" me was a blonde whose name i didn't even bother to get and she did not offer it. She was very rude and condescending. She visibly annoyed that a customer had come in. I told her that this was my first wig what trouble I was having with my wig pulling back. She suggested a few tips and told me to put it on. I asked if there were any wigs with extra clips and she said there were not. I also asked her if there was a way to make the wig look more natural in the front and her response was, "well it's a wig, it will never look natural." I promptly left and will never be back. This was some of the worst service and for someone who is new to wigs she makes you feel dumb and incompetent. Had she been more friendly, she may have even made a sale. And while it felt a little more comfortable within an hour of leaving it was sliding back on my head. And strangely the reviews on Google were slightly better. The other day I went to Sergies to buy some products for my hairpiece such as shampoo, conditioner, and spray. I then decided to buy another hairpiece. A very nice lady named Barbara was helping me. I liked the piece ,but thought it was a little too long. I was hesitant to buy it because of that until Barbara said that they could trim it for me. This place looked beautiful upon walking in, but the overall demeanor of all of the employees quickly tainted the air. There were 3 of them in the empty shop and they all stared me down like hawks - maybe because I didn't look like some of their usual clientele? I could feel they were judging me based on my appearance and thought maybe I was some dumb kid. I explained right away that I was looking to spend on a high-end/expensive monofilament wig, thinking this would perhaps get them to treat me a little more courteously, but it didn't. The woman helping me was curt and unhelpful when I asked questions - when she did provide an answer, she spoke to me as if I were a child. Every question I asked seemed like an inconvenience. They charge FIVE DOLLARS (most wig stores charge $1) to try on wigs and limited the amount to 3 which is incredibly strict for wigs that aren't human hair. I hesitated to do this because their long hair selection wasn't the greatest and I wasn't sure I'd buy - but I figured I'd start somewhere. During this time they all stared at me intently, making me really uncomfortable. I wanted some time to really judge how the wigs were looking and feeling - dropping $400-$500 on a wig is a major purchase that I didn't want to rush through. However, I felt pressured the entire time and wasn't able to really sit and absorb how I looked in each style because they continued to stare at me. They didn't let me keep the wigs I was trying on nearby to easily compare them - they put them back on the shelves and I felt like it was a problem to ask to try on the first wig again (which I came close to buying) or maybe they'd say no - so I didn't. At one point I'd wanted to see how the hair looked through a camera lens since I was wig shopping solely for the purpose of online modeling and not in-person use, and the woman pointed at a large sign loudly proclaiming "NO PHOTOS!" I asked the woman about a part style - and if I could have something ordered because I liked the style of the wig but not the color, and wanted to order perhaps something similar / given that virtually every other wig shop I've visited has offered to either place an order or let me look at a catalogue when I couldn't find some bring I wanted. She told me no, she couldn't do that. Nope, there wasn't any way to get something similar. No, there was no catalogue I could look at. Every step of the way was "No". So I asked if there was anyone else I could speak to, and the woman behind the counter addressed me with skepticism, softening slightly when explaining that supplies had been more limited, and ... then... going into why wig shops run by Asian shopkeepers weren't recommended. ....? All the while a third person stared at me without smiling from behind her. It was all very unfriendly, bizarre, and upsetting as I did find a style I really liked but these women were so unfriendly and unwilling to help me in any way that at that point I just wanted to get out of there. I ended up going to US Wigs and finding a lovely monofilament wig that I was happy to spend $500 on there, because their customer service was AMAZING, they were friendly, helpful, and didn't charge $5 to try on. And it happened to be Asian run, go figure! So much for whatever unprofessional smack this lady was talking! Really terrible and unwelcoming experience - these women need to get their noses out of the air. They pride themselves on "Catering to everyone" including cancer patients, but I can't fathom how they stay in business with such truly horrible customer service. read more

We came out here after my mom's radiation appointment 'cause she needed a new wig - her favorite synthetic was getting loose, and she wanted a change. As soon as we get in around 5:35pm, there was the usual question by a larger female sales rep about needing help with anything specific, and it was followed by "We close at 6. Promptly at 6." That kinda attitude honestly got a quick response from me: "Yeah, I saw that." My sister and I walk around, trying to help my mom pick one out. My mom finds one that she really liked, but guess what... She's already discouraged by the customer service, and I can read my sister and mom's face and body language, so I just tell them to go. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN! I had the wig two days and I never moved the wig from the spot I left it in when I brought it home. For some reason it was all frizzy and tangled and was losing all the curl. I called them and told them about it and they said they would call me back and never did. I had to call again. I also sent them pictures of the wig and they called me a liar and said that I BRUSHED the wig and that's what it looks like so I must have done so. I never touched the wig once when I brought it home. They offered me no help, no solution, nothing. They told me that they would wash it for me only if I paid the 70 dollars to have the service done! WHAT HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I am devastated. I was so excited about this wig and now it looks like a rat's nest and it literally sat in one spot where nothing and no one could get near it. The manager of the store is a rude argumentative person who just wanted to blame me the whole time. I have never ever had someone act like that towards me ever!!!! She refused to speak to me anymore after I got upset from being called a liar and hung up on me!! DONT EVER BUY FROM THIS STORE DONT GO IN DONT GIVE THEM A PENNY!
