First review of the New Year absolutely has to recount his gem of chaos my friend and I discovered in December when searching for Italian food in Oxford Circus. We originally had plans to go elsewhere after strolling through Harrod's and they were booked up for 3 hours so we decided to take a walk along everything near Oxford Circus tube station. We ended up finding this place and coming in around 6pm asking for a spot for dinner for which they seated us pretty quickly. They ended up rejecting most parties shortly after us and the place got booked up within minutes of us arriving so we definitely got lucky. I ordered a penne Al vodka & my friend ravioli which both came out quickly as well. Both of these were amazing meals full of flavor which we had a hard time finding in London. It was probably the most chaotic restaurant we'd both been to in London during our time there with party poppers, front of staff being so eccentric and just how loud & busy it was overall but since my friend and I are both from brown culture, this chaos was normal for us & made it seem fun haha! The bartender was a flirt & we got shots on the house before we left back for home. The owner even checked on us to see how we enjoyed our meal before we headed out. I would 100% come back and highly recommend any tourist come here for a fun dinner experience. read more

I didn't know what to expect at Sergio's but I loved it! We shared the melon and prosciutto, carpaccio and calamari. All were very delicious! I had the clam linguine, it was tasty with a ton of clams in it! Everyone enjoyed their dishes. The staff were really friendly and Sergio himself was working that night as well! We had the tiramisu for dessert. I'd highly recommend a stop at Sergio's! read more

Great overall! Food was hands down the best aspect of this restaurant! All of us were pleased with our meals! Service was great until at the end when we asked the server (a different server than we'd had throughout the meal) to split our bill and he was blatantly annoyed and rudely said "how do I know what each of you had?" We then explained that you would just split it evenly between us all and use division. I mean....really??? How can you be a server in a busy London restaurant and not know how to split a bill??? The fact that he was so obviously annoyed with us and rude kind of soured our experience. I would definitely go again because the food was that good. read more

Had dinner with two other companions while on holiday. Sat outside...no waiting. Ordered dinners with wine. Slight miscommunication at first as we each ordered wine separately, yet a bottle was brought to us. No worries, they took it back. Food was very good. Each of us got a pasta dish. Freshly made and tasty. However, took forever to get the meal. Waiter kept walking past us and never asked if we wanted more water or more wine (should have kept the bottle). Finished our meal and took forever to get the check. In fact, the waiter seemed a little miffed. I'll say the place was a good spot and worth the stop. read more

The best ravioli's I've ever had. The white sauce was perfect. I loved the asparagus cooked just right. My husband had the gnocchi and it was very good. The music playing was current hits but band only no words I loved the vibe. The service was amazing. The staff was polite and attentive. read more

Wow, what a great little restaurant! An Italian restaurant, through and through. From the food to the service, everything was ace. Plus you know it's good if Lionel Richie, Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne are regular customers (among the other hundreds of pictures of celebrities)! After winning a pub quiz, we had £50 to blow, so we were looking for a cheap but good restaurant for the 5 of us. One of us had been to this place before and said it was really good, so we booked a table and because it was so beautiful out, we sat outside. The place filled up quickly, a good indication that this place is really good. Everyone else went for pizza and I opted for the vegetarian lasagna. It was good, but I wish I'd gone for the pizza too (the only reason I'm demoting it a star). They were as big as bin lids (okay almost), and had amazing toppings. I managed to score a piece of parma ham and artichoke, and everything about it was DELICIOUS! The staff were super sweet Italian men, and you could tell they were passionate about their restaurant, which was very refreshing. read more

Sergio has proved me wrong! Their food are so tastey! I thought I was in Italy having an Italian meal. Their butterfly prawns are HUGE. I have never seen such huge prawns in any restaurants! So last Thursday night - I was walking through Fitzrovia on my way home from a little shopping on Oxford Street when I stumbled upon Sergio's Restaurant right on the corner across from the Crown and Sceptor. Peering in at the amount of patrons coupled along with the delighted looks on their faces - Sergios had hit my hotlist of places to take my companion. The following night, Friday, we were sitting in this very restaurant (places on the list get hit pretty soon after arriving on it) We strolled in around 8pm and the place was bumping with clientele. Got sat at a good table right in the front room - this was especially enjoyable because Segio's had an tall all-glass window setup on the corner developing lots of action to be seen outside. Quickly ordered a great bottle of Italian Rose - I believe from the Pugia region. It was fantastic. The service here was lights out. The rounds of servers - I counted 4 - continuously stopped by the table to make sure we had everything we needed along with telling jokes and generally making the spot a cool experience. The food was alright. This is where the 3 stars comes from. I ordered my usual Italian dish - Veal Scalloppini - and it came out bare with no lemon/white wine sauce on the meat. This greatly disappointed me because of all the fabulous Yelps I read before arriving here - yet I was 1. hungry and 2. do not like sending food back (worked in restaurant when younger & don't like to hassle servers) Following the meal - I ordered a cappucino (really good) and my companion ordered this great coconut gelato in a coconut shell. Being an odd ball, I decided to take spoonfuls of coconut gelato and dip it in the cappucino - to a glorious outcome. Really thought I had found a hidden gem, after reading the Yelps I was almost positive, but one below-par dish has a lasting impression on me. read more

Nope. Nope. NOPE. As an Italian, I'm always looking for the perfect pizza when abroad (everyone grows home-sick from time to time). Sergio is just not there, pizza is clearly under average, pricey, topping quality is poor and dough tastes like an undercooked cracker. Just....NO. But let's take a step back and see it from the beginning. We go there and we find cards with prostitutes in the menu (yes, I'm not joking). In the room you can distinctly feel a terrible smell of bad fried fish. The menu is proposing about 30 mains (from pasta to meat) and pizza, which is already a bad sign. Yes, I must agree, this IS a "real" italian restaurant, exactly like one of those terrible, overpriced places for tourists that serve bad quality food, which is unfortunately so common in Italy. Just avoid the place, like you would in Italy, and go anywhere else read more

Sergio's is not a place that would normally attract me, but I found myself here for Eurovision this year with a large group. This restaurant has to be the most accommodating place. Normally when confronted with 60 of us you'd see smaller choice, flustered waiters and a general frenzie. The main man Ronnie put on an amazing spread for us. We were all sat in the beautiful downstairs area, an intimate cave. He'd provided game sheets, balloons and even prizes. The waiters took all 60 of us ordering multipul different things in their stride and were polite and attentive throughout. There was such a big choice on the menu and when the food came out I can't think of one person who was disappointed. Fresh, simple, hot Italian food. Comforting and delicious. We all had such a great night with this place going above and beyond!! read more

Reasonably priced Italian family restaurant bang in the middle of town. Feels very personal, you know, the opposite of places like Pizza Express and Ask. It has a lot of character. Inside the restaurant the walls are plastered with photos of celebs who have eaten at Sergio's. They seem to have a fondness for the Ozbourne family, and that fondness appears to be reciprocated judging by the number of photos there are of them at the restaurant. read more

The staff here are great. We managed to get a table at the last minute on a friday lunchtime it was a table for 12! well, it was actually two tables, but still pretty impressive. They were really friendly too. I really wanted to like it here. While my seafood risotto was pretty great, filled with monkfish AND clams as well as all of the usual goodies, everyone else's lunch looked pretty mediocre. But my risotto was so huge I could only eat half of it! No one else was impressed with their pasta dishes. The pizza looked pretty great though. Prices are good - about £8 for a main. But it's a bit of pot luck whether you'll actually get a decent meal. There are better Italian places around. read more

As soon as we walked in the old bloke (who you logically assume to be Sergio) treated us like old friends, despite us never having set foot in the place before. It felt warm, cheery, and welcoming - and that flying start was only improved upon by the food! My Ravioli in Brodo was tasty enough and of generous enough size to not make me feel in any way cheated, and my friend's seafood salad looked awesome! The mains were gargantuan and excellent - the calzone hung over both sides of my girlfriend's plate like a giant cartoon Cheshire Cat grin (covered in sauce). My pasta with pesto was tasty & cooked to perfection, and the pizza our friend had looked superb as well. We powered through a couple of bottles of a very tasty house white as well - and again, our host splashed the wine around liberally in our glasses without a hint of the pretension usually surrounding wine service. Scott Adams (the writer of Dilbert) says that with restaurants you could have the best food in the world, but if the experience of being there sucks then you're going to lose. Sergio's is a case in point - whilst not haute cuisine or Michelin material, the food was great quality and plentiful, and the ambience & service made for an incredibly cheerful and enjoyable night. read more

For the price, the service was good and the food was great. Great atmosphere inside the restaurant, which as someone else has noted, has a great affinity for pictures of the Osborne family as well as other celebs. I found it as a great place for a good Italian dinner. The carpaccio was amazing, with delicately sliced pieces of great meat. I found that the mixed salad was a little unwieldy, with a large amount of really shredded lettuce. The salad, combined with the cost of Diet Coke refills (2.50), are the only factors that kept me from giving the place a perfect score. read more

I organised a joint birthday meal at Sergios recently. The staff kindly decorated the table with balloons and even brought our desserts out with sparklers on and sang to us. They then presented the entire table with a complimentary tray of after dinner shots. The staff were really friendly and the service was very good. All of my guests were surprised at how big the starters were and by the end of the night were feeling very full! Located a short walk away from Oxford Street which makes it the perfect central dining location without the hustle and bustle. We were seen to quickly with a friendly yet professional vibe. Dined here with friends on a Sunday afternoon and found a pleasant atmosphere, good food and reasonable prices for London. My avocado salad was delicious, the pasta course was good. Nothing spectacular, but pretty good. The Montepulciano de Abruzzo was wonderful. All in all I give it a generous 4 star rating. read more

this is an italian place where the servers speak, give attitude and flirt like italians. and the food is fantastic for italian. get the prawns. the prawns are monster king prawns. (must take picture next time...but it's hard to waft in the aroma and pause for picture before inhaling the food.) they have outdoor seating which is pleasant when the sun's out. and it seems like they serve food all day so if you happen to miss a standard meal time, sergio's is ready to serve it up. this is a place i'm willing to take the caloric opportunity cost of consuming pasta. yum. read more

The food is incredible!! I ate the King prawn pasta and easily could have fed two people! We also tried the grilled salmon with lemon butter drizzle- perfection! The calamari appetizer is delicious. What a great place! I have had business lunches here and taken family their too. Food is great, atmosphere very friendly and the staff are very charismatic. Their signature dish is massive king prawn spagetti which is a must and their pizzas are the best (even do take outs) downstairs is more space and doubles as a function room with Nintendo Wii and Karaoke! read more

Spectacular Special Butterfly Prawns £22.00, enough for two really, only just did it justice, but it was delicious. Post BBC Tour called in as it was recommended by friends. The staff are really busy and attentive to the right amount, the owner loves interaction with his guests. Wow, I'm shocked at Sergio's gets 4 stars overall. This place screams tourist - token chef statue outside, pictures of owner with people on the walls, cheesy American pop music blasting, and even a karaoke bar downstairs. The food is just OK, but waaay overpriced - £22 for spaghetti with prawn and £6.50 per glass of house wine that taste like a cheap bottle from Tesco. Service is also a bit lacking. There are much better Italian places in the area for the money - Bellaria across the street and Demartino's (on Great Portland St) are better choices. read more

This is one of those traditional italian restaurants, once you've been here a few times, they treat you like a guest of honour, and remember your usuals! ...
