Serranos' Carl's Blend is a very good blend of coffee beans. When I have ground them and made my own espresso drinks with my home "prosumer" set up, it has been consistently very good. It's unfortunate that the baristas have no idea how to make espresso drinks. They are friendly and efficient. They just don't know how to properly draw shots or steam milk. As a result, Serranos is mediocre. That's a shame because Carl knows coffee beans. read more

I met a friend here on a Saturday late morning and I liked the smoothie I tried but the soup was SO SALTY I couldn't even eat it. That was a bummer because it sounded really good. Her soup was really salty too. Maybe we should have focused on their coffee! They have a good menu and they have comfy booths and we really appreciated being able to sit in a booth and chat and not feel rushed out. We'll give it another try! read more

So first of all I love this place but today my breakfast burrito had 3 long hairs entangled in the burrito. I had to stop eating and felt like I had hair in the back of my throat. My family's go-to place for coffee, muffins, cookies, and breakfast burritos. The staff is always gracious...some of them have our order memorized, and one young lady has our face/phone number memorized. Sometimes there is a wait in drive thru line, but it is worth it. One time I brought wrong debit card. The barrista gave me my coffees and I returned in 15 minutes with my correct card, feeling more impressed than ever about them. Besides pastries, panini sandwiches, and breakfast burritos, other small food items and refrigerated drinks are available. In the summer, everyone goes nuts for blended coffee drinks and fruit smoothies. Staff is always friendly, smiling, and ready to offer suggestions. This was my first experience at this establishment. I stopped here because Dunkin Donuts didn't put the amount of shots in my Latte. I was already aggravated I had to stop again on my way to Denver. I am not really a fan of Starbucks and was happy to have a local coffee shop to order from. I was really happy they had s 20oz coffee and that they put 3 shots in rather than two. I normally order a quad shot I like using sugar in the raw which they carried. Yay... I asked for 6, which is my normal. It's just right and never too sweet especially in a twenty oz. This is where everything goes wrong. People who have the same exact coffee everyday for years regardless of where it comes from always tastes pretty much the same. People who NEVER add flavor to their coffee can taste that crap a mile away. And people who have been a former barista and who makes what I ordered at home everyday can taste the stale ass burnt up shots I was served. All in all I didn't receive what I ordered at all and can only wonder if they took the shortcut and flavored my coffee with brown sugar and wouldn't think I wouldn't notice or your servings of sugar are HUGE, 6 packets is 2Table spoons. As far as the burnt shots I have no idea if that's something your staff is aware of or not but it's gross. Sadly I only drank two drinks of coffee that was supposed to replace my last bad coffee. Sadly I wasted 15 minutes and 6$. Sadly that was my first experience and since I was just passing through my last. I actually regretted not going to Starbucks. read more

I have been buying my espresso beans from Colorado Coffee Merchants and decided to give Serrano's a fair shake. I have say they are both great roasters and I will continue to use them both. Also while I was there I tried one of their Mocha's and it also was top notch. I have to say their service is great and the whole layout of the place is amazing. Looks like a great place to come and hang out and surf the net or read a good book. SO try them out and say screw 5bucks!! read more

This is my first time here...came because of a Happenings coupon but will definitely be back when we are in the area. Coffee is awesome and they were kind enough to remake my son-in-laws smoothie when he forgot to tell them that he couldn't have dairy. Their gluten-free muffins were as good as my homemade- the grandkids each enjoyed a huge pumpkin chocolate chip one and even cleaned up the crumbs. The seating areas are comfortable and the free WIFI was in use by quite a few. We appreciated the later hours and the relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely try this again! read more

Mmmm mmm Good! This is my first visit to Monument, my Sister and her family moved here last year. I am used to supporting locally owned small businesses so I was determined to find someplace besides Starbucks or Pete's on my morning outing. I scored when I saw the Serranos Coffee Company sign peaking out behind the Starbucks sign. The coffee is terrific and fresh roasted locally, and the staff are super friendly and concerned that the customers are provided with exactly what they desire. read more

Good place to work or meet someone. Plenty of seating with additional private room meeting space. Great location for locals or travelers. In the heart of Monument, CO just off the I-25 freeway. Coffee and muffins/pastries good and service always dependably attentive and friendly. Solid alternative to nearby Starbucks which is much smaller. read more

REALLY bummed that I have to give them this low review. I'm a huge advocate for supporting local business, and will always spend more in order to do this (not the case with Serranos. Their prices atch the big coffee chains.) However, I use the drive thru at least 3x a week. Consistently, my order is not to specification, which is simply "No foam." The cup is never marked that there should be no foam, so I believe those taking my order aren't passing the info onto the barista. When I tell them, after receiving my drink, that there's foam in it, they simply take the cup, and scoop out the foam, not replacing it with milk. So I pay for a large, yet get a medium. I most likely wont return there, which stinks. Because they do make a really good product, if the right people are working. read more

I love local coffee shops. It's worth the drive behind the Starbucks (ironic, right?) to get to this hidden gem. Try their Caramel Thing. It's pretty sweet, so I usually get it with non-fat milk and no whipped cream. But that's just me. I love the atmosphere in here, always friendly people in line who are chatty and say good morning. Great place to meet a friend and catch up. Their whole beans are amazing, I always pick up a pound of something to use in my French press at work. read more

Stopped into get some quick breakfast on our way to Denver. Ordered the Turkey Reuben (without the sauerkraut) for myself and the breakfast burrito with everything on it for my husband. Coming from New Mexico, my husband was overjoyed that they offered the burrito "smothered" in green chili. I also ordered a light roast coffee to sip on while I waited. I have to say that I did not enjoy the light roast. I don't think it is poor quality, I suspect that I just really don't like light roasts. It tasted tangy with an after flavor of citrus. I usually take my coffee plain but I added cream and cinnamon to this one to make it more palatable. The staff was very friendly and polite. Our order was out in under 10 minutes. The sandwich was amazing. It was flavorful all the way to the last bite. I had to restrain myself from gobbling it down in the first few minutes. My husband was also really impressed with the quality ingredients used for the burrito. (He's very particular about his green chili). The price wasn't bad either. It was a decent amount of food for $18 including the medium coffee. Not someplace I'd stop in all the time to eat, but my husband and I don't go out much so it was a really nice treat. read more

So sorry to rate this three stars, was reluctant to even give it three. I've frequented this coffee spot numerous times over the years it's been in business. I like to buy local and would prefer to have it my favorite place over big corporate Starbucks. However, today really changed the way I feel about stopping here. The staff were ok, not overly customer oriented, but good enough, the coffee was fair, a little weak on the coffee tasting scale, but I could taste the mocha at least. It was a little warm, not hot and cooled off pretty quickly on this chilly day. I didn't get any food because the choices in the goody case looked pretty pathetic. I've tried their lunch offerings before and they were standard fare, not great, but ok. All this pales in comparison to the state of the space today. It was filthy. Tables covered in spilled coffee, crumbs, old newspapers. Floor even dirtier, seating is beginning to look not just old, but very used and shabby. The manager needs to step up and work to get this mediocre meeting place back to what could be a great coffee meeting place. The potential is endless. I'll go back in a few months to give it another chance, but it needs a good scrub TODAY! read more

This place is great! Family owned and operated. The staff knows pretty much all the regulars by name and order. Everyday they have a new variety of something to try, which is a nice change from the other guys. I can go and sit down for a few hours to work and seriously enjoy myself. Chairs are comfortable and tables are clean. The Internet always works. Parking can get crowded. But that's usually a great sign! Good place to visit. read more

Good coffee made great by a handful of remarkable staffers. I come to the store often, but I would like to speak to a specific experience I had this last Saturday (9/16). It was very busy, and the young girl on the register was clearly a trainee, and struggling. There was a huge line. Another barista, Dylan, is both a delight to interact with and a commanding leader. Despite the crowd of people and her surrounding staffers, who were intimidated and fumbling with their jobs, she was able to be a graceful and guiding force to help them, serve customers, make drinks, clean the store, and still somehow have time to acknowledge me by name and ask how me and my family were doing. The best part is that you could tell how she genuinely cared to hear an answer. Watching her work is incredible - her joy lights up the space and her leadership allows for the store to run smoothly despite the circumstances. The 5 stars go to her. Hats off to good coffee and a great staff. read more
