We are in Sun Valley for the weekend and I had the night to myself so I decided to try out this Peruvian spot in town. I ordered the Leche de Tigre and 1/4 Rotisserie chicken plate. Leche de Tigre is my favorite style of ceviche. I liked the little bits of mahi mahi in the juice. This Serva's version is topped with a breaded pawn and few pieces of red pepper, giving it a bit more of a kick. The rotisserie chicken was very tender and juicy. I don't know if it's the Idaho potato but those fries were amazing! They were crispy on the outside but soft and tasted very fresh on the inside. The restaurant staff were very nice and gave me a complimentary lemonade-like drink. It was very interesting. It was topped with a layer of egg white and a sprinkle of cinnamon. It almost tasted like a non-alcoholic pisco sour. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes next time we are in the area. read more

Well, I recommend it for people who aren't vegetarian. We went to Peru a few years ago and any chance we get to have Peruvian food, we try it out. It's a lovely place with great curb appeal and nice inside as well. My son was stoked with his kids meal of a gigantic portion of hot dog bites, fries, and a salad. It was enough for two 10-12 yo kids. It did say it came with housemade Mayo and he loves Mayo... but didn't come with any. When asked, he got Kraft. My husband had a chicken entree he said tasted like Thai food and enjoyed it. May daughter and I shared the Peruvian house salad and it was sizable and good for $14 but came with a creamy dressing and not a "housemade vinaigrette" like the menu said (and the main reason I ordered it). Sadly no vegetarian meals on the menu because they use chicken stock in all menu items that are vegetarian (like pesto pasta). We left and had to get a burrito down the street once the rest of our family was done. It would benefit them to make a single entree (other than a salad) that is vegetarian or vegan friendly. read more

Delicious, authentic Peruvian food! Our server was friendly, personable and very attentive. She had good recommendations and explanations of dishes. I went went for the classic Aji de Gallina, with chicken. It has a creamy yellow sauce with chicken & some bell peppers, etc. It came with rice. I felt the need for a salad so I requested a side salad, which wasn't listed on the menu. They were happy to accommodate. My husband enjoyed their 1/4 chicken (breast) which came with fries and a side salad, and included a spicy sauce and the yellow one like was on mine. No need to get too crazy here. Stick with the Peruvian bread and butter meals and you will be beyond satisfied. Lomo Saltado and Mixed Ceviche are must haves. We plan to hit this spot for many years to come while visiting each winter. The restaurant seating is very open, but maintains a low-lit and intimate feeling at each booth. An ideal day in Sun Valley consists of the following: Corduroy all day on Greyhawk, a nice dinner at Serva, and some quality hot tub time watching the SnowCats doing what they do best. read more

We saw Peruvian and went for it sitting in the expansive patio. The waitress was so sweet and great. It added to the experience. The lomo saltado was so so good. I usually find it salty on soggy fries. This dish had quality meat with large cut local potatoes and rice and the entire dish was seasoned to perfection. Having been to Peru and frequented many a Peruvian restaurant in Los Angeles and New York I had high hopes on the food, especially after seeing Peruvian patron after Peruvian patron come in for lunch and noticing all the employees were also Peruvian. A bit pretentious in the presentation, high prices for a typical Peruvian restaurant, but the food was quite delicious and could hold its own with some of the better places in the big cities. Leche del Tigre was well balanced, but not as spicy as we would have liked. The plantain chips were nice, but needed salt. The Lomo Saltado was delicious, especially with the aji. We wished there was more sauce, but the rice was a fail...undercooked and underseasoned. The beef cut was better than the typical and very tender. The lamb chops were succulent, deliciously seasoned and ample in quantity. The papa's huacainas were equally as good. We loved the flavors of Serva. Not being sure what to order, we went with a variety and couldn't stop eating because everything was so delicious. However, we had leftovers and then ate them for breakfast and lunch the next day. We've been to a number of Peruvian restaurants (including in Peru) and this is amongst the best! I'm sitting here at the table writing this. Now, I admit, we were part of an absolutely enormous group - probably 30+ people. That said, hearing what the server just told my fiancée is BEYOND unacceptable. She was asking about something on the menu, and literally told my fiancée she couldn't have an item prepared the way it is actually described on the menu. "If there weren't so many people I could be more accommodating" No special adjustments at all. Just not serving it the way it's written. Unbelievable. The first time she came over to take our order, she literally started talking and walked away and we didn't see her again for 10+ minutes. There is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for the level of rudeness experienced here, I don't care if it's a group of 300. If you can't accommodate, don't take the reservation. This might well be the best meal I've ever eaten in my life, but this is still a solid 1* review. If I wasn't part of this group, I'd walk out. I'm disgusted. Update: not the best meal ever. From my fiancée: "I'm paying a lot for this, so I'm eating it. If I made it at home, I wouldn't." This seems to be a local's spot for sure. Majority of the employees and guests were Spanish speaking, and that's always a good sign of a Peruvian restaurant! We stopped in for a quick snack, and ordered the Ceviche Mixto and the Yuquitas Fritas. I also ordered their Sour drink. Everything was delicious, and we felt satisfied and healthy afterwards. Our group came here on impulse, and I wish we had more time in Ketchum so we could eat here again! It smelled delicious as soon as we walked in and you could quickly identify where the yummy smells were coming from--the big case of rotisserie chickens cooking within view of the entrance! We tried the chicken rolls to start--simple and tasty. Then on to the quarter chicken (dark meat for me) which tasted as good as it smelled. Great food! Great service, very nice Peruvian restaurant that really couldn't have been better

The food and service were very reasonable and met my expectation. Their wine by the bottle was a plus, with good selections to choose from.

The food was excellent, and beautifully plated. The ceviche mixto (24$) had a generous quantity of seafood, very shrimp heavy. We chose spice level 3 (of 5), which was just the tiniest hint. The quinoa (15$) was pretty and I enjoyed the sour dressing, but I wouldn't recommend getting it with the ceviche unless you really like sour foods; together it was a bit much. The lomo saltado (20$) was tasty, with really fragrant rice. I would have preferred a more tender meat or smaller pieces though; it was a bit difficult to chew the large pieces in one bite. Overall, definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! read more

We were surprised to find Peruvian food in Idaho and it did not disappoint. Service was prompt and kind, and the food and wine were scrumptious! Had a causa - beautifully presented! Went for dinner. The good-Peruvian salad was large enough to share and really good. Beets, avocado, corn, and radishes over greens with a good dressing on the side. Lamb shank was outstanding!!! Super tender and a sauce that was top notch! The not so good-The serva steak had a delicious flavor, but the steak itself was super tough with a lot of gristle. We went to Serva the other night and LOVED it! Really good Peruvian (or any Peruvian tbh) is hard to find in the states. My husband lived in Peru for a few years and I have spent a considerable amount of time down there as well. We love Peruvian food and this was my favorite Peruvian I've ever had in the US. I ordered the Lomo Saltado and my husband ordered the Serva Causa (a mix of causa and ceviche). Everything was cooked to perfection and had the perfect amount of flavor. Our meals came out quickly and our server was kind and attentive. When Rico's closed we were really sad as we loved their Italian. As much as we loved Rico's, Serva is a great addition to Ketchum and we will visit each time we come to Sun Valley. If you have not had Peruvian I would 10/10 suggest this place for a first experience!You will not be disappointed. read more
