We had learned the evening before that it was easier to order in on a busy Pres Day weekend so opted for Thai or Sushi for our party of 10. We originally were going to order from Sushi on Second in Ketchum, but my sister in law had to do an errand on Hailey so we figured easier to just pick up from Dang's. And always fun to try something new. We ordered a combo of thai and sushi and though the food wasn't anything special. The thai food was a little bland, although my mother in law commented she was happy it didn't have too much sauce. I thought the chicken pad thai was the best of everything we ordered,but nothing special. I usually love pad see ew, but found this one to be kind of ew. The sushi was fine. My youngest is a sushi fanatic and I've seen him taken down several rolls in one sitting, but he helped himself to a few pieces of salmon and rainbow rolls and was done since it wasn't anything special. I also orderd the coconut rice and mango, which sounded nice and sweet. It looked pretty gross, but actually tasted better than it looked...although the rest of our party wasn't impressed. Enjoyed lunch on the way out of Sun Valley at Dang's in Hailey. The restaurant is cozy with tables on the right/left and a small sushi counter. I enjoyed Thai soup with pork to start. It was a huge portion, literally a meal in itself. The broth was exceptional, noodles delicious and fresh vegetables and pork on point. Next I had the green chicken curry. Great service, absolutely delicious food (Thai fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, pad Thai with chicken, and green curry with chicken) was served quickly, hot, and was very satisfying. When we're back in the area, we'll definitely stop in again! Truly average food, but I think it's overvalued because of the small-town location. If you come in with no expectations and don't order the sushi, it may be an okay experience. We had a late weeknight dinner (around 7:30 pm) and Dang's was packed. After a short wait, we were seated. The water refills kept coming- very fast service from waitstaff and the food also came out quickly. Spring rolls were mostly greens, but sauces were yummy. As other reviews warned, the sushi rice is packed together in a gelatinous and unappetizing way- don't get the sushi! The mango was fresh and was a nice dessert. Wow! The food is just wow! lol my taste buds were so happy haha I ordered a pick up order. The food was ready within 15mins which is amazing and well the service was great. The lady was very nice and well I really enjoyed my food! Perfect portion to. From the glance I got when I picked up my order, the place looked very welcoming and well clean. It was cozy for sure. Got a recommendation from the lady at the front desk. She said people come from out of town to eat here. She said with it being a busy weekday she would recommend calling for a reservation. We decided to give it a try and since there were only 2 of us we tried our luck. We found parking on the street right in front and were seated right away. We shared the sampler plate, it was good and just the right amount of food for 2 before your main meal. Also got the avocado salad. The dressing on this was out of this world. I got Pad Thai (spice level 5- they do a spice level of 1-15) not sure why you need that many levels but ok. It was not very spicy. I like mine with just a little more kick but still able to taste the flavor of my food. My co worker got Pineapple fried rice. We told the waitress when we were seated that it would be separate checks. When the check came it was on one. We asked her to please split our meals. She snatched the old receipt and walked off in a huff. When she came back out check was split 50/50. My co worker felt bad because I do not order drinks when I eat and she did. Her meal was also more than mine l. She offered to send me money but I told her not to worry about it, she could get coffee in the morning. When we were ready to pay, that waitress got a bit mad because I handed her my card. Under her breath she said "so you want me to do it", they have the QR code on the receipt but I had already had my card out. We stayed in Hailey, Idaho when skiing at Sun Valley. We read good things about Dangs so decided to give it a try on a Friday night. The place was hopping! There were only 2 of us but the proprietor told us the wait would be 45 minutes. He took down my number, promising to call when a table was ready. We went to a grocery store and he called within about 10 minutes, saying our table would be ready in 15 minutes! While this place has gorgeous, generous servings of sushi, we opted for Thai. It was excellent. The locals go here too-because they know! We sat next to some friendly ones. Oh yeah! You were wondering about the food, weren't you? My husband started out with Thom Kah soup with tofu. It was quite tangy but he liked it. For his entree he ordered Mussaman curry. I didn't get a pic because he dumped his rice in & stirred it around before I could get a photo. My green curry was yummy with lots of fresh crispy-tender green beans and other veggies. I really hate to leave bad reviews. In fact, this is the first and probably only 1-star review I'll ever leave, and I'll tell you why: The sushi rice here is so bad that it ruins the rolls and nigiri. It's so dense and gummy that it makes you feel full after only a few pieces, and I was so appalled that I called the restaurant and asked whether this was a normal thing. After asking the management/chef, they told me that it was, in fact, how they normally prepare their rice. Sushi rice is supposed to be washed several times and covered with sushi vinegar so that you can taste and feel each grain of rice in every bite. This restaurant may do Thai food well- I can't vouch for that- but I will never eat sushi here again. read more

Slim pickings for lunch in Hailey. It was cold and raining and we were looking for a hot meal. Dang's was one of the few places open so decided to give it a try. The thought of some Tom Kah Gai (coconut soup) made me salivate. By front door there were some daily specials on a chalkboard. All sounded delicious. When we received our menus, food options were only limited lunch specials. Since the server did not mention otherwise, I assumed the chalkboard specials were only for dinner but I should have asked. No Tom Kah Gai Ordered the Pad See Ew which was good. Husband ordered Pad Thai & Tuna Roll. He said it was okay but the tuna roll tasted like it was made hours before. When you look at lunch menu it's the only roll that comes as a combo so that makes sense. In all fairness, I pulled up the dinner menu when I came home. The much wanted coconut soup was offered as well as more menu items. I need to come back for dinner and update review. Service was terrific. I really wanted to like this place but it just wasn't that great. My wife ordered the tofu pad see ew and I ordered a few rolls. The pad see ew was bland and not to par. As for the sushi, another reviewer mentioned that the style of rice was starchy and needs to be rinsed more; the result being very thick/dense rice. This description was spot on and not appetizing. The staff however was extremely friendly and the food came out very quickly. My 2 cents is it could be a very good spot if the recipes were altered a bit. read more

Pretty good Thai food. Ordered the green chicken curry and fried rice. Their brown rice comes in a plastic wrapped ball and was moist and tasty. I ordered the oyster broccoli with tofu. The tofu was fried which I prefer sautéed. It was cooked ok. Great fast service. Ordered it on the phone and it was at the pick up window out front in 10 minutes at 6 pm on a Thursday. Stopped here again after visiting several years ago and the food was still amazing. Appetizers of fried egg roll, spring rolls and calamari were a great start. This place has a large menu of your thai favorites along with sushi. The prices are a bit high for the portion you get... I got the green beef curry and my husband got the shrimp pad thai. We ended the meal with mango and sticky rice. All was okay. The pad thai was probably the best. Oh and we got the calamari for appetizer which was not good at all... definitely not something i would order again.
