This "UPDATE" is actually a review of the Service Department Flashback to 23 NOV 2023. I had just finished eating my fill of Thanksgiving dinner at my in-laws and was preparing to make the 40-mile trip home in the rain. As we were leaving, my son, who was sitting in the back seat, advised me that he saw water on the passenger side back seat; specifically dripping down the back and on top of the seat where the headrest fits into the seat. A quick check of the seat revealed that the water was coming in through the corner of the rear glass. Further inspection revealed that it was leaking on both sides. I drove home in the rain with water steadily dripping inside, until I got home and placed a tarp over the truck to prevent any further water intrusion. A quick internet search revealed that there was a known issue with the trucks equipped with the electronic sliding rear glass. The next day, I called 4 Chevrolet dealers in the New Orleans metro area and explained the problem. All of them said that since I was out of the 3-year, 36-K mile factory warranty, there was nothing they could do for me other than replace the rear sliding glass at a cost of approximately $1,300.00. I explained to them that I also had the extended warranty, but they all advised that it did not cover glass! My next call was to Service Chevrolet Cadillac in Lafayette, LA, as this is where I bought the truck. Although it was a 3-hour drive to get there, this was my last hope. I spoke with Service Manager Jerome Babineaux, who was well aware of the Silverado rear sliding glass leak issue. He knew I had the extended warranty and called them on my behalf, only to also be told that glass leaks are not covered under the extended warranty. Before, I could make my disappointment known, he told me to give him some time and that he would call Chevrolet (corporate) on my behalf. A short while later that same day, Mr. Babineaux called me back and stated that he had spoken to Chevrolet and that they agreed to pay $1,000.00 and all I would be responsible for was $300.00. Mr. Babineaux stated that Service Chevrolet Cadillac had a great relationship with American Glass on Apollo Street and that they would do the job on Chevy's behalf. Although normally a 2-day job, Mr. Babineaux worked out a deal with American Glass that if I could get there at 7 AM, they would put an extra technician on the job and get t back to me the same day. Needless to say, I left at 4 AM on 30 NOV 2024 and arrived at Service Chevrolet at 7 AM. Service advisor John Prejean was already expecting me and treated me very courteously. Soon after arriving, my truck was on its way to American Glass. Both John & Jerome kept me updated throughout the day, and around 3:00-3:30 PM, my truck was returned to me with a brand new rear sliding glass. I can honestly say that the Service Department truly went out of its way to get me a great deal, which made the best of a bad situation. So grateful for Jerome Babineaux and John Prejean. Can't recommend them enough, as they provided me with the highest level of customer service. read more

Service: I Had scheduled transmission fluid and oil change as priority, with a trunk issue if they had time (that Service caused on a prior visit - trunk worked fine, Service performs a recall, trunk never worked after) anyways they said fluids could be done on Monday so I dropped off Sunday night. A week goes by (I am In a rental truck) and still no fluid changes. I call and they say that they were waiting on trunk part. I needed fluids changed, f that trunk part. Charges me inspection and trunk diagnoses. So Trunk issue remains and fluids not changed. Also sales rep tried to offer me $44k for 2020 Corvette. F that noise. Everyone is a joke. this place is a joke, first you have to call PLENTY of times (3 weeks) 3 voicemails. just for someone to return your call. it's ALWAYS an excuse! brought my vehicle here for a few problems (3weeks) no rental car. months later all issues plus a extra problem OIL LEAK!!!! Fast forward now car has some of the same issues remain you I had to bring the car back again for the oil leak ( that they made) no rental car!!! while I understand you don't have any public chargers, and other dealers don't either but offered a hand in a very critical moment. I was not trying to get anything free all the public chargers where not working or not yet installed. I was simply asking for a little compassion something you would want for your daughter or son or any family member. the lack of concern and compassion in that moment was just a reminder of the cruel unjust world we are living in. like I said I pray you ate never in need for something and your neighbor has it and denies you the use of it, but I'm sure your neighbor would look out for you and your would for them just not for me. read more

I just had to put new tires on my '17 chevy Silverado which I had Chabills do. A couple days later my engine was making a strange noise so i immediately brought it to service Chevrolet Cadillac. The salesman kept pushing back "it will be ready on X date at the latest" which went on for 2 days. When they gave it back to me, it had my spare tire on it and they said the rim was chipped on the inside. I called the service department hoping they would help--literally the highest up Jerome hung up on me. Will NEVER give my business to this dealership and I warn you to do the same. I paid them $7300 to get a truck that they put a spare on then got hung up on. Still in shock at their unprofessionalism tbh. read more

Have been going to Service Chevrolet to service my new Bolt EUV since I've owned. But no more. Their service department is unreachable for the most part. If u r lucky u might get thru but odds r u will get a recording and a promise to call u back. After my November service work, I was promised that someone would get back to me with an answer to my question regarding battery degrading. After a month of waiting I called back and after getting a recorded message saying they would get back to me and waiting another week I finally called GM. No joy there as they were unable to get the service manager to help resolve the query. Today in April I called again to schedule another service call and got the same recording. They'll call me back. Friday, December 19 I traded my 2022 Corvette stingray with 7000 miles in showroom shape in on a 2024 Corvette stingray at SERVICE CHEVROLET. Before I got home I noticed the AEB did not work. I had no AEB no forward collision alert, nothing. I called SERVICE CHEVROLET and they asked I wait until January 6 to bring it in for warranty. I brought it in and when I picked it up within the first 2 miles I knew they had not fixed it. I returned and the service rider took a ride. He could not make it work nor could anyone there. The mechanic logged they took a 10 or 12 mile test drive the afternoon before and it was all fixed. I am pretty sure all they did was take a 12 mile joyride not a test ride. If they had taken a test ride, they would know it was not working when I returned to service in the service guy couldn't make it work he went to a mechanic in the back to check for codes. The mechanic in the back said it was all OK. He said I didn't actually have AEB even though my window sticker shows I did the order codes show. I have AEB in all 2024 Corvettes come with a AEB. The fact is no one in service actually wanted to take the time to understand. The problem was not fixed. All they wanted was to get rid of me and try to convince me my car did not have what it clearly has. I would never buy another car from SERVICE CHEVROLET the sales people were fine, but the sales aren't the important part. The important part is always servicing the product we buy. Anyone can process sales paperwork. I started a consumer complaint with GM and their solution for now is to take it to another GM dealer to get reprogrammed or repaired I would have thought SERVICE CHEVROLET would've paid more attention to the problem since from the day I bought it. The service department does not care about the customer they will keep your car for multiple days and not touch it and deny warranty and charge you outrageous price for repairs. Terrible service, make sure to avoid... I purchased a wireless key remote for a Tahoe and as soon as the parts department synced my new (and old) remote, 2 of the locks on my driver side (rear and front) instantly stopped working. The parts and service departments said that it was pure coincidence and it has nothing to do with the timing of the new remotes. They charged me to look into the issue and continued to state that it was only "pure coincidence." Nice people, but they took my truck from me at 1:30 for an oil change and tire rotation. It is now 4:30 and still no truck. This appointment was made days ago, so even if someone got sick I'm on their schedule and should be expected. I never received a call so I showed up before appointment, something so simple should not take so long. Unorganized and poor communication in my opinion. Here is a summary of my experience: Brought 2011 Chevrolet Camaro in for service. Wasn't the nicest experience but it's fine in a rental, went to get my car. Paid and ac was messed up still. Brought again, another rental. Brought it back. Another problem. I believe it was my final rental they gave me wasn't even cleaned. Had a black and mild rapper inside it. Well I ended up buying a new vehicle, was so tired of dealing with the back and forth with my car. And they amount of effort it was taking. I watched Shelly point out a paint bubble and then begin to scratch off. The bubble she pushed again came off and it scratched the paint, she began to tell me I was responsible for it. Also, that it has a smoke smell, but I told her I absolutely did not smoke in the car and there was a black and mild wrapper that was already in the car. I was so furious but she would not release my camaro without paying for the damages of the paint which was very small and wanted to charge me over $500. It was such a scam, and guess what? I traded in the car... AND THE AC WAS STILL BROKEN. I hate hate hate hate having to deal with service chevy. Sometimes in the years since it happens they act like they want to resolve this but they don't and one time I was told had I said something before. Well I have. Every single year since it happened. well if anyone is reading reviews this is my 2nd review for service chevrolet & cadillac on ambassador caffer-i bought my truck a 2023 chevrolet in september & started having problems in november of 2023-from my understanding if a light does not come on then it's the customer fault-this is how i personally feel-this is not my 1st vehicle bought but never have i felt so helpless-only thing that i'm guilty of is that i went to the wrong dealership. only thing that is my problem is that i i've been lead to believe that a fuel valve is on back order twice since march & the service dept. is "hoping" that this will solve my problem-the dealership had ample time to show they were compassionate & caring--switch to another truck--what happens if the service dept can't figure it out. i don't want an email thanking me for my patience believe me my patience is gone!! i also don't want a phone call letting me know "another" rush order has been place. i need & want results!! read more

Worst service experience I've ever seen. My wife shows up for an 8:30AM service appointment for a simple oil change and to check a tire for a leak. It's going on 2PM and she is still waiting. Mind you she is 8 months pregnant left waiting this long. No communication. No apologies. Just a sob story about how they are short staffed. Drove a hour out of a two hour drive to go buy a truck I had been talking to them for a week over only to get a phone call saying they took a deposit on the truck before I can buy it. I was never asked for a deposit or told it was possible, I was actually told they don't except deposits on used vehicles. I would have gladly given a deposit. Ridiculous! read more

I will never buy another vehicle from Service Chevrolet again. I bought a truck back in 2003 from the old location on Cameron St. I was having trouble with a lot of air leakage through two back windows. I was told they would not fix it because it was a GMC. Keep in mind I bought this truck from them about a month before. So I brought it to another dealer and they fixed it. Note I bought another truck from the new location. I bought it in 2017. About a year after I bought it I noticed the paint on the roof was flaking off in chunks. I am now having to get it fixed. I was told that this truck has been in a hail storm. It was not revealed to me. I am having to pay $3,600 to get the roof changed because Service Chevrolet said they would not fix it. They are a bunch of crooks. I would not recommend buying from them. I am a contractor and have many connections with people and I am giving Service Chevrolet a bad name when I can. read more

If I could give no stars I would do so!! 9months ago I was sold a 14,000 equinox. Five of the nine months the car has been at service Chevrolet tempting to get repair each time that I have went and picked my car up it has never properly been repair. I have definitely been sold a lemon car. To top it off they give me a rental car they switch it out every 30 days this past rental car that I had was due to be switched out but I was suffering with Covid and could not bring it in and did not want to infect anyone no one was allowed to drive the car but myself. Candace in the loaner department started sending me text messages threatening to call the cops and make my car a stolen vehicle. So I had no choice but to bring the car in. We were in communication with the service department and they knew that I had Covid and they knew what was going on the entire time when I came in she tricked me I thought I was paying to get my car out at the shop she actually took my money and then told me that I was paying for the overtime of the rental now she wanted me to pay an additional $200 to get my car. Here I am feeling horrible, cold and miss Candace stood there with her arms crossed being rude arrogant disrespectful and all-around very unpleasant person!! And to top it off my car is still running like crap!! Would not recommend anyone to go here! read more

They are never on time, I hate coming in here because service takes forever, you deal with multiple people at multiple times, and nobody seems to be able to meet the other promises. I was looking for a used pickup truck for about 20 to 25K. I used Cargurus for my search and Service Chevrolet seemed to have a lot of good value vehicles (not overpriced)and also got 5 star ratings from customers. We worked with Guy Rodrigue from start to finish looked at the truck on saturday and bought on Wednesday after I sold my car. (You ofered 4k , I sold for 6K. Great car but high mileage 144K) I got my loan through USAA and sent the electronic transfer docs to Guy. He had everything set when we got there on Wed. And we were out in about 30 minutes. Guy helped with the insurance and made sure we had everything we needed. As I went to the truck to drive out I noticed the left front door handle was broken. And so was the left rear door handle. I went in and told Guy and he rushed the truck to service. Too late gone for the day. Guy and the service manager told me of the problem then offered to let me take the truck, Guy would drive to Baton Rouge, pick up the truck leave me a car and then return the truck repaired. That was all done the next day between 11:30 and 4:00. Service Chevrolet earned their name on this transaction and will get my business in the future. I am also telling all my friends about this excellent dealership. A used truck is not a new truck, but this dealership made it look and perform like a new vehicle and added their own 60 day parts and labor guarantee. read more

I purchased a 2014 impala. And a month ago purchased a 2018 Silverado crew cab. Don't currently have any complaints. Staff is always friendly. If I only goto service for an oil change I'm usually there 1-1.5 hr. Always have fresh popcorn. Always offer water anytime in there. Even if I run in they have no issue me getting a water on a hot summer day. I do have a new vehicle so get a loaner when I have to drop off. I do find in a loaner they take longer. Well? Things weren't quite the same as in the past. I feel like the actual guys working on my SRX were maybe half asleep when doing the work. My front driver's rubber floor mat was crammed partially under the center console and when I got home I noticed the backseat floor rubber mat was also stuck under the center console. A Saturday call to service when 2017 Tahoe Z71 had a start issue, yielded the on duty service manager, after being on hold or I can't remember how long, to say "can't help you, here is the 800 number" . My wife had bought a new Malibu in 2012 and drove it for about a year when the check engine light came on. We brought it to service Chevy service dept, and was told the light wasn't on when they checked it and would need to bring the car back when the light came on again because we were told they couldn't diagnose any problem without that light on. The light would come on, we would bring the car to them, they would say the light wasn't on and they couldn't tell what's wrong without it. This went on for a few more times with them replacing a water pump or some other part and we did this for over a year with over 6 attempts to have them tell us the light wasn't on, they couldn't figure it out without it. It's worth noting that over this span we still took the car there for all regularly scheduled maintenance. After more time passes, more trips are made, my wife, completely frustrated, stops at an O'reillys auto parts store and asked if the could figure out. The young man behind the counter said they could give it a shot but only had a cheap handheld code reader, but "the dealer has the really good ones from gm" and he also let us know that "they don't need the light on to read the code, it stores it all as long as your battery isn't dead or been disconnected". It hadn't. So he hooks up his cheap handheld diagnostic reader and immediately pulls up the codes of what's wrong. His reader only gave the codes but can be easily looked up online. Armed With these codes, I returned and gave them to the same service guy, who immediately said that he's giving us a rental car, that the code showed the valves were bad and it had caused a piston to go bad, that he would need several weeks with the car because the engine had to be rebuilt and we were fortunate that the car hadn't reached 36k miles or it would've cost thousands to rebuild the engine. We had been bringing this car back for over a year with this exact same problem they wouldn't address. It was a brand new car that was maintained by the book at their service department at their dealership. We got the car back about 2 weeks later. As soon as I got it back we went directly to another dealership and traded it in on a Hyundai. I contacted GM directly and was surprised that I not only got a response but a person in upper management from GM (just making sure you understand that it wasn't the dealership who called, nor did they at any point even though I made them aware) called and wanted to ensure this didn't happen to others. This was our first and last dealings with service Chevy and any other GM product. My only hope is to give anyone else a heads up if they are buying from service Chevy. This happened a few years ago but my post elsewhere have been removed and I feel it's too important to not inform others. read more

Never had bad service here before but this time was terrible I was told on a Friday that my vehicle needed a $380 part to be fixed I then called back on Monday to check on the vehicle and was told they were still working on it on Tuesday I checked again and was told the my bill was $3500 quite a difference from $380. I was then explained to after my initial shock that 3500 was a quote to fix the problem that I brought it in for in the first place. I still think it's absolutely ridiculous that a suburban with 125,000 miles that we purchased new from this dealership 8 years ago needed major engine work and a camshaft replaced. When I told the service advisor that this was ridiculous and I would not ever purchase another gm suv ever he said not to worry they don't make them that way anymore. Sounds like gm knew there was a problem that might cause camshaft failure to me. I have never in all the vehicles I have ever owned my life had to replace a camshaft at such low mileage or ever for that matter. To top it off when I picked the vehicle up the service stabillitrack light and service traction control light were both on I didn't have time to deal with that issue right then and there and that was probably a good thing since I was thoroughly aggravated by this point And it was late on a Friday afternoon. I called first thing Monday morning about the issue and was told to bring the vehicle in. My wife brought it in and I was called to be told that the issue was not related to the camshaft service which was ok and understandable by me but why when I had over $3200 worth of work done was I not told about why these lights were on before I picked my vehicle up absolutely unacceptable service. When my wife went to pick the vehicle back up they tried to charge her a $120 diagnostic fee after my vehicle had been there over a week for over $3200 worth of service. Insane. After this experience I will never but another gm product from this dealership or recommend them to anyone else. Terrible experience. read more

Purchased new 2017 Chev 1500 and vehicle has 10k miles on it. An issue came up when attempting to refuel tank. On 7/10 (Oran) service advisor was contacted and an appointment was set up for 7am on 7/11. The unit was dropped off as the service tech asked. As of 3pm no call regarding progress was received and contact was made to the service department. I was then told the vehicle would not be looked at until 7/13. It was suggested that the vehicle set at dealership for two additional days to get looked at with no way home (Hour away with no ride) or picking it up. As you can guess there are many dealerships that want new customers. The truck was retrieved and taken to different dealership for service. This kind of service on a new $40K plus pickup is unacceptable. Would not recommend using this dealership in the future. read more

Service Department: When I first arrived at the service department, I told them that I heard a rattling noise from my car, and I needed it looked at. The first statement out of the service guys mouth was "You know we close at noon tomorrow." How was that an appropriate response?!? I then told him I had to get back to Houston. I asked about car rentals at that point. He offered me a loaner car which I explained I couldn't get back to him for another week because of how my work schedule is (I work 12hr night shifts; one week on then a week off). He said that would be fine I could keep it until I came back. Well the problem with the car was worse than expected and was outside of it warranty so I decided to trade in the vehicle instead. This all happened at the last minute on Friday before Christmas so I was told to give them a call Monday after Christmas. When I called Monday morning I was told I had to get the loaner car back to them. I told the service guy I was working until Thursday and couldn't come talk to a salesman until then. His response was I can't let you keep the loaner. I had just gotten off my 12hr shift and then had to drive 4hrs to bring this car back. Needless to say I was very displeased and decided I was not going to purchase a car from Service Chevrolet after all if this is how they treat their customers. read more

I took the time to schedule my oil change online a day earlier, but still had to wait two hours. When I confronted the service advisor about my issue, I was told that there were other people who brought in their vehicles before me. Isn't the reason you make an appointment instead of just bringing your vechicle in is so you don't have to wait for other people ahead of you. The service advisor also treated me like an inconvenience. Think again when you go here for your service needs. read more

I have used Service Chevrolet at major service intervals for several years. Usually the service has been competent but expensive. This time the service department caused damage to my vehicles electronics then refused to cover the damage, attributing the failure to "coincidence". The vehicle's system was functioning perfectly when I took it in, after the dashboard was replaced it did not function properly. Needless to say I will not patronize a business that does not accept responsibility for it's mistakes. read more
