We also had a request for outdoor shooting for which Erum researched the area, found a great location, fit it into our day's plan and got some amazing shots there as well. After all a wedding is a very important and special day. I got married last year, and did not have a good experience with Erum. After our wedding we didn't hear from her for months. We tried calling, emailing and texting her and finally heard back months after. Our wedding photos were delivered electronically 6-months after our wedding. Our USB drive, with our high resolution photos, was delivered almost a month after that. One issue that I was upset about was the fact that we did not have family formal photos and I as the bride do not have a photo of myself alone with my dress elegantly. I was told later by her that we did not give her a shot list, but it's a wedding... What photographer doesn't shoot family formals? We are taking our family formals with our family this summer, but NOT WITH HER. Honestly the thing that upset me most was the lack of communication and service. Your wedding photographer should respond to calls, texts and emails... Again I really didn't want to write a review, but it really has been bothering me inside...

They just weren't like the other wedding photographers out there! Eric the owner from Modern Frames (such a cool guy) was so easy to work with! Unfortunately, he wasn't available for our wedding date but had a colleague he strongly recommended. We trusted him to set us up with Alex. Even though Alex would be shooting our wedding, Eric would still do the editing portion. So we agreed! We set up a few meetings with both Eric and Alex, and both are such laid back, chill and easy to work with guys. We immediately felt comfortable with them. The wedding day was great. It ended up being extra hot, humid and darker than the usual Spring day we've had in DC. But Alex made it work. He also kept a lot of us calm and comfortable during all the shoots. Alex stayed almost the entire day, even though the agreement was that he could leave earlier. But you could tell he really wanted to capture everything perfectly. All the wedding guests loved him as well! In the end, the photos came out great. BOTH Eric and Alex are very creative and truly skilled artists! Communication/Responsiveness: Eric wrote back to our initial email *ten minutes* after we sent it (!), confirming he and Alisa were free on our date and suggesting we schedule a Skype meeting. They were super responsive to all of our questions and concerns. They got our engagement photos back to us in less than 2 weeks, and our wedding photos in 3 weeks. Personality: Eric and Alisa are really nice people and a ton of fun to be around! They made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and they were down for all of my crazy requests (like a giant group shot with every guest at the wedding). The Photos: SO GOOD. We wanted pictures that would capture the feel of the day, rather than looking like a magazine shoot, and that's exactly what we got. My aunt and uncle dancing, grinning ear to ear. My friend's two-year-old stealing the show in his tiny bow tie and suspenders. Us attempting to cut the cake and getting the knife stuck. All of the people we love in one place, smiling, dancing, talking, and having a great time - they captured it perfectly. I went to James for help with getting a 54 year old photo, that has seen better days and survived two floods, restored an enhanced and bring new life to it. He looked at the photo and explained that due to its extensive damage, it might not come out as I expect. He then went step by step through what he would do as far as brightening it up and putting it through filters. Most of the faces in the photo were only half legible, so I didn't give my hopes up. When I tell you this man performed a miracle, believe me when I say that I teared up when I saw it. My grandmother, who passed away when my mother was only 11 years old, was given new breath and looked absolutely stunning and I could finally see what my family always talked about her being a natural beauty. My grandfather, who passed a few years ago, looked so young and lively and my mom and uncle were legible and I could see their young faces smiling. I didn't expect a whole lot as far as the photo restoration and enhancement, but James exceeded all expectations, including his own. His fee was very reasonable and he gave me an extra print of the photo. If anyone needs professional photos done or photo enhancement, James Ferry is the man for you. I'm still in awe of how amazing this photo turned out and I can't thank him enough. Not only did his work prove to be impeccable, but he's also a naturally friendly guy and a pleasure to talk with. If you're on the fence about choosing him, I hope this review settles your reservations. He is worth every penny and worth the wait time for the photos (which still wasn't long. It took him 3 weeks to get my photo in pristine condition). He is a master at his craft.

There was even a lady that showed up during our session who was 2 hours late for her passport appointment and he was still very professional and welcoming to her. The location was easy to find and he was simply really great at his craft and made the experience very comfortable. We followed his lead during the shoot and he returned some great quality photos.
