Extremely happy with candids & colors on all levels!! We did a 1 year old cake smash with her and could not have been happier with the results. Professionally, Desiree kept in close contact with us and answered any questions we had prior to the shoot, and was really flexible and open to any suggestions we had. She was very pleasant to work with, very friendly and sweet with our baby, as well as very patient! The shoot was about 45 minutes, which was expected. The waiting area of her studio is very inviting! She has coffee, snacks, books and toys for kids, comfortable couches to sit on - her bathroom even had makeup and hair products for touch ups if needed!! (she also does maternity photos I understand). She had a very fast turn around to get the photos to us for viewing (next day!), and the photos were so beautiful! I had a hard time narrowing down the ones I wanted to be retouched! Pricing is also very reasonable. I absolutely LOVE Desiree. I searched long and hard for a photographer after finding out I was pregnant with my son. I found her site and was impressed at her work and her pricing. Finding quality work at an amazing price is tough (I know. This was my second and I shelled out mucho $$$ for my first's photos). I was so glad to find her because of how reasonable her investment costs are. Since finding her, I've had my maternity, newborn, and cake smash done through her. Why go somewhere else when time and time again her work is on point? Honestly, I'll be going to her for future sessions rather than look elsewhere. She's been so accommodating and open to suggestions when it come to scheduling and photo ideas. She also has such a large gown and newborn prop selection that there's bound to be something you love. In my case, it was hard to narrow down my choices! The comments about delay in communications? Yes, well, she's not some box brand photographer like Picture People. They have several people working for them and a front desk assistant. She's a small business and solo photographer for most of her shoots. Delays will happen. If there's anything I've learned about newborn/maternity photography is don't wait until the last minute to book. Most good photographers, like Desiree, get booked quickly (my first was booked out 3-4 month!). I've always had reasonable response times, especially considering she has 3 kids and juggles their crazy schedules on top of her photography. Do not get your hopes up if you're booking with this photographer. If I could give a 0 on customer service that would be accurate. I would have to agree with the communication being the worst part of this experience, as I did not get a chance to book anything because she is UNRESPONSIVE!! I email this photographer regarding a cake smash photo session I wanted to book. After not hearing from her within 24-48 hours, (as she advertises on her Facebook page) I decide to send another inquiry to follow up. She gets back to me A WEEK later and asks what dates I want to book and will get back to me with her availability. Ok great. ANOTHER WEEK goes by and I don't hear from her. It's like she disappeared off the face of the planet! So I go on her Facebook page and of course she's active uploading pictures and posts about getting back to answering emails and messages. Ok great right?! WRONG!!! My email was never answered. How disappointing. I understand she is busy, but it appears she has some challenges with managing emails and getting back to new clients in a timely manner. She advertises that she gets back to people within a few hours, or within 24-48 hours, yet this was not the case with me and apparently with other clients regarding her lack of communication. That is FALSE ADVERTISING, RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!! I get that she is solo and a small business. And yes, she is not like picture people, but that is not an excuse, because without paying clients, she wouldn't be in business. There are other professional photographers, who ARE SOLO and have other family obligations etc who I have worked with in the past, who don't treat their customers this way! I was excited to work with this photographer, but unfortunately my business did not matter. To the viewers reading, beware!! This review has nothing to do with the quality of work, (which to me is stunning) but rather the lack of customer service. I messaged her on Facebook at 37 weeks pregnant explaining how I just moved in the area last minute due to military reasonings, and was desperate to find a nb photographer even though it was a little last minute. I told her I loved her work and Was very eager to hear back from her. Well she read my message and never bothered replying. I figured I would give it a few days but still nothing. So I decided to email her through her web page and let her know i wrote her on Facebook and was still extremely interested and really was looking forward to hearing from her and still no reply. Already under stress with the last minute move at 9 months pregnant and having to cancel all photography plans I had at my previous residence pretty much sucked. If she couldn't do it then that's fine, It just would have been nice to at least hear from her and I would have been very understanding. To completely ignore your potential clients is just flat out rude and bad for business. read more

I am very disappointed in her customer service. Since October, I have tried to schedule something with her and have gone back and forth with her multiple times. Just when I thought we'd have something scheduled, she'd become unresponsive and it would take weeks to hear from her. I'd have to reach out to her AGAIN only for there to be some correspondence and then nothing on her end...AGAIN! I can't even begin to say how absolutely rude and unprofessional that is. I was really looking forward to working with her after seeing her work and thought it would be nice to have someone local and, seemingly, high-quality take photos of my first pregnancy and my first born. If she couldn't work with me for whatever reason, I would've preferred her just saying that she was unavailable. Now, I have to scramble to find someone who can fit me and my boyfriend in before his deployment in February, who can take pictures of a newborn in March, have a wide-selection of props and gowns, and be affordable. It's just a shame that she would handle a potential customer like this because I had plans (if the pictures and experience were good) of using her multiple times in the new year. I sent emails to the booking coordinator Ashley asking questions about Candids and Colors photo sessions and got the simple response "we are booked for those dates, and a second email response we are booked until June" without addressing my other questions or even a check back for an opening.
