Nice volleyball courts, but usually occupied by leagues. Nothing else like it in Dayton, really. But the food is gross and the water and soft drinks taste funny. Don't bother ordering anything other than beer. If you don't drink, bear in mind this is a dive bar first and foremost, with regulars and everything, that just happens to have sand volleyball. read more

A cross between a local bar and dive bar, that is totally a local spot that we stumbled upon, never would have found this otherwise. It is not fancy, but a great hangout spot--- and it has beach volleyball!!!! So unique, very cool spot, great for central Ohio. read more

Bartender was great, I can't wait to play volleyball here in the spring and summer. I was not impressed with the "regulars" as they were heavily intoxicated and rude/crude. I'll be back, but if I have a repeat experience the next time it will be my last visit regardless of the volleyball. read more

The MVHPC has so much more to offer than just a pool membership....there are fun things like winter and summer platform tennis leagues, hiking trails, card nights, kids movie nights, pig roasts, derby day party, Christmas dance, karaoke....etc. In 2020, we added pop up parties with live local music on the terrace (BYOB) and it was a huge hit with members. Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve is my first state park I have visited in Ohio, and it did not…read moredisappoint. I'm not a hiker, but I found the trail to be a somewhat easy hike for a senior and the walkways and guardrails were well-maintained. There are lots of benches to sit on to take in nature, darling native plants, and plenty of interesting facts to read about along the trail. We saw photos and explanations of how the Little Miami River was used to power grist and cotton mills, paper factories, and breweries. In the information building, we were greeted by the very friendly ranger, who gave us a botanical identification brochure (it would have been very useful during the hike) and introduced us to the turtles in their enclosure. The preserve was quiet, and we enjoyed ourselves so much. This is just the start of our adventure of the Clifton Gorge, and there are so many more activities to explore. We hope to be back during another season when the water in the gorge is flowing more rapidly.
