I've been going to settlement health for almost a year or two. I can truly say I have never been treated with such attention and professionalism. I've had the pleasure of working with Jamary Pagan she is absolutely outstanding always finding ways to assist me with everything she goes up and beyond. My doctor is Jaime Lopez he is very amicable and genuine. I love that he explains everything in my labs. The staff is also a joy to be around everyone always says hello and remember me from prior interactions. Love this place and won't be going anywhere for a long time if ever. read more

Super horrible place. I had an appointment on March 5, 2019. When I got there, The Patient Representative by the name Lizette Perez with a squeaky look in her face told me I don't have an appointment. I got frustrated. Rushed over there and I was just coming from the Health department main office downtown complaining about other health institutions that do not respect privacy nor notify me of something they are doing on my back. Ex. NYPH and Medicaid with my managed care getting me services I do not need or is a waste of money and time-consuming. Honestly, I do not know how people today are working with their head or with the head inside their legs. Imagine when Marijuana is legalized. Oh my God! How people are going to function at work. Especially, surgeon and residents in the operating room. It is going to be more and more malpractice and errors. More people are going to die from errors. Going back to the Settlement health. No appointment cannot be seen not even as a walk in. They take walk in but apparently not that day I was there. Then I spoke to Denise Arzola (spelling) Chief Operating Officer. She assured me and talk to me No doctors appointment. Most likely they erased it by mistake. Then I have someone after I spoke via telephone with the department of health that I have an appointment. I have the recording and I hope I can post in here. I can not go. I had an appointment with my Dry Eyes Syndrome Opthomologist and I can not be at two places at once. This is abnormal the way the world is today. I know it was deleted. That appointment is in the hard drive of the computer. I am going to the IT department to get to the bottom of this and get documented. I needed to have a PCP to have all these doctors and specialists I go to. In addition, I need referrals. And my social worker told me she does not like that place and she used to take her son and be all day in there. She also lives across from the clinic and she does not like or go there. I should have taken her opinion more seriously. But I need a PCP as soon as possible. I am disabled. It says in the bottom you could only upload photos. No audio, no voicemail. I had a call from Wilson the same day reminder of the appointment I had at 3:00 PM. Voicemail came at 10:14 AM. From telephone number 212-360-2600. I feel bad for the next generation. Its two blocks from my house. They do computerized prescriptions so by the time u get to your pharmacy its ready to be picked up. Pediatrics/gyn / and primary doctors are all in separate departments and its always clean. how ever the wait time to be seen by my primary doctor is always way to long. read more

I was there on 8/10/2016 the women's center had strange flying bugs. I Mean people were killing the bugs all over the place. The staff was unprofessional and rude. I came in on 8/9 and asked their walk in procedures. Front desk staff told me to come back tomorrow and get on line at 10 am to come inside at 10:30. (Who does that) I came as instructed and waited an hour to be called only to be sent to another facility several blocks away by a nurse who never examined me or even took an lips pressure. She didn't not investigate my reason for needing to be seen immediately. She only said they could not accommodate walk ins. I was upset because I was given bad information, wasted my time and no one even looked at me. They said they could not guarantee that I could be seen as a walk in where they were referring me. Horrible customer service! No one takes responsibility for poor service. They are used to dealing with people who are afraid to speak up for a variety of reasons. read more

The nurses and Pediatricians are very friendly. My son sees Dr. Tandra, and very patient, friendly and thorough Pediatrician. I recommend seeing her if you are looking for a Dr who cares! Dr Ableman is also pretty great too! read more

This place is in the heart of East Harlem however this place is super slow and always short staff. Reaching someone on the phone is almost impossible and scheduling an appointment is the worst. I called in October to schedule my physical which was due in December because appointments are scarce however I was told that I would have to wait until July until the next availability....are you freaking serious!?! Getting a referral literally takes months to get after hounding the only person who makes them. This place is slow. No matter what time your appointment is. expect to wait over 2 hrs just to be seen. The doctors (and I've seen many) always seem to be in a rush and don't take the time to get to know you or your issues. Although I can wait hours to be seen, I'm usually in and out within 20 minutes. What can you possibly do in that time? Check ups are quick and getting someone to respond to a phone call regarding your health can take a few days. Walk-ins are ridiculous and I end up usually going to urgent care just to get seen. This place is joke! I have been going here for years and honestly kept going here cause it was literally within walking distance from my house but as I become older I have realized that I need a doctor who cares about me and the issues I present to them which is why I changed my provider. There are now only 2 doctors (adult) who cater to the whole neighborhood and that's just unacceptable. There are plenty of other places to go and feel like you're getting great service. This place has gone downhill and I don't regret going elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

The women's health clinic Has very professional Personal you get treated with dignity and respect as well as in the pediatric clinic when you go upstairs to the adult clinic there is this one particular receptionist who is very nasty, unprofessional, and with a very nasty attitude. She will not Greet you she does not use any manners with you. Do not under any circumstances try to book an appointment with her because she will look straight in the face and tell you that there is no dates available without even checking on the computer if they are. This has happen to me more than you once I guess since she's close to retiring she don't care about giving good customer service. this place has fallen to pieces!! every day its something else, if its not the fact that your on hold for hours its your waiting in the patient area listening to other patients complain about staff or gossip. I been a patient there for years with Dr.Lopez-Santini which happens to be the best!! BUT has too many patients for him to handle. He had a nurse Tania for a few years that stabilized Dr.Santini's patient flow,return calls and even took time to come out to speak with us when we came in person.She pretty much ran the show and made sure my family and myself were always or needs BUT shes no longer there i was told. it seems every time they have a functioning team someone leaves. I only stay because of my PCP but even thinking about changing my doctor and my family as well. Now when you go in,no nurse of his can come out,everyone looks BURNED OUT,snappy edgy and as if they just dont care (maybe because they always emphasize how short staff they are) its a really sad place and environment. HORRIBLE!! When calling they will have you on hold for 25-35 mins then blame it every time on "Short Staff". This is the 2nd time I get a referral to go to the Main Mt. Sinai Hospital with the incorrect information. Then when you call Settlement Health to find out the correct information while being late for an appointment they made you have to sit on hold for those 35 mins I mentioned. Then most of the staff hates to be wrong & gets upset. While trying to contact the Manager (Ms. Ladyann Feliciano) she's always "Unavailable", then I requested the next person in command to leave my complaint the Director (Ms. Mary Medina), go figure shes unavailable. I even requested to speak to Ms. Ana Trilla the CEO or Ms. Evelyn Rodriguez the Board Chairperson. Nobody seems to have a assistant nor a email/phone number to contact them directly. Everyone has to go thru the Reception desk that takes a half hour to pick up. I know these important people have a office offsite so why can't the public get in contact with them when you don't get the proper results? This office runs the East Harlem (El Barrio) like they are uneducated & knowledgeable. Like everyone is low income its a disgrace! Yes if I'm not happy I should move my business elsewhere right? Well I happen to love the doctors there & its unfortunate that their patients have to deal with the unprofessional system they have. & not to mention I have GREAT private insurance (1199) & now in 2016 it is very hard to find a doctor with his/her own practice. Mostly every doctor now is stationed in a Clinic. I guess its cheaper for them who knows but if I was able to find a private doctor's practice for my child & I we will do it in a heartbeat. Really clean and nice looking facility (they have porters coming around every hour to clean bathrooms, and waiting area). Staff is friendly and professional for the most part. Doctors are very thorough, professional and very attentive considering that they have to see scheduled patients and unexpected walk-in patients as well. They see uninsured and undocumented patients for ONLY $30, which includes all lab fees, in-house tests, and vaccines FOR $30!!! That's unheard of!! If they refer you to a specialist, that's a $30 consultation fee for Mount Sinai Hospital, and if they refer you for an x-ray its also JUST $30 per exam. They also offer free mammogram services for undocumented women. They truly are a safe haven for undocumented and uninsured patients, where other doctors and facilities will charge a consultation fee, a fee for each in-house test performed, plus lab fees! I have been told by the staff that they recently upgraded their phone system so I am hoping that will improve in the following weeks but if you are computer savvy, you can request a pin from them like I did and get mobile access to your medical record, the pin allows you to request appointments, send messages and request prescription refills. The wait time can be long but its worth the wait as the doctors will usually address all of your issues when you do get inside. Appointments are far away for some of the doctors, but remember, if you need to be seen urgently, you can just walk in. Also, they have two locations! read more

My children attend Settlement health for healthcare and i must say, this place is soooo unprofessional. The nurses gossip right in front of you, they have the worst attitudes. I say to myself, if you dont like people, please do not work in the Servicing field. It seems like you are bothering them when you ask for help or a doctors note. I asked for a doctors note right after my appointment with my daughter and i received it 3 weeks later. I must say, the doctor that deals with my children is great, Dr. Pressler, but his staff is lazy, unprofessional and its like your pulling teeth when you need something from them, they definitely live up to horrible reputation of a Clinic. Note to the Ladies in Settlement Health: You work in a clinic... servicing people and some are ill, Your customer service should be on point. If you dont like your job, get a new one, dont take it out on us. You lazy unprofessional ones probably mess things up for the ones that actually do care and love their job.
