Nina and Linda did my service today and they were very sweet! The service was unlike anything I've experienced. During the entirety of my service, some part of me was getting massaged. If it wasn't my neck and shoulders, it was my face or my arms and hands. I was not expecting all of that and was very happy and relaxed. Multiple tools were used on my scalp throughout the appointment, such as their fingers, gua shas and other tools to help the circulation in my scalp. There was at least 30-40 minutes of massaging before my hair even got washed. My only downside is that they use the same products for all hair types. I have very curly hair and with that comes dryness - it's the dryers hair type. They just kept telling me "your hair is dry" and it didn't seem like they had good product for my hair. After my appointment, I was headed to work so I called previously to ask if the hair is styled after the service and I was told yes "blow dried". My naive self thought that that ment a blow out. Guess not so naive, because I know there are places in the city that do finish off your service with a blow out. Really, what they meant was a light blow dry and the rest with air dry. This does not work for curly hair, sadly. My hair was a frizzy mess and was not their fault - that's just how curly hair is. You have to add product to it. So I had to run to the pharmacy to get product since I went directly to work after this. That is truly my only complaint, but to be honest, I would still book again and just know to bring my own styling products to apply after the massage and wash. Everyone in this practice is very friendly and professional. Millburn Total Wellness truly has it all, Dr. Maura Mayer was right there behind the desk ready to help with her staff. She went over my intake papers to go over my concerns and did her physical exam. She even did the XR and we will discuss my treatment plan at my next visit. My Honest Experience at Lucid Beauty Spa - Millburn…read more I went in today using a coupon, hoping to enjoy a relaxing massage. Unfortunately, my experience turned into something extremely painful and upsetting. In the middle of the massage, a new therapist came in and began pointing out "skin tags" on my neck that I had never even noticed before. She insisted she could remove them right there and that it would make my neck look "so beautiful." She offered to do it for $100. I was surprised by the upsell during a massage, but she made it sound simple and harmless, so I agreed. What happened next was shocking. She began burning the skin on my neck without properly explaining what she was doing. The treatment was painful, and I left the spa with multiple red burns all over the side of my neck. My skin was burning, irritated, and far worse than when I walked in. As you can see in the photo, my neck now looks severely irritated, and I am worried about possible scarring. Instead of leaving relaxed, I left anxious, in pain, and extremely disappointed. I came for a massage -- not an unsolicited cosmetic procedure performed without proper explanation or consent. This should never happen to anyone. A spa should prioritize client comfort and safety, not pressure customers into unexpected procedures, especially ones that can cause injury. I hope sharing my experience helps others make informed decisions.

I haven't had a facial, so can't speak about those services. The spa's rooms are very close together and even though they play spa music, you can usually hear what's going on in the next room. If you have a massage in one of the front rooms, you'll also hear the people waiting in the reception area. Limited parking in Maplewood, so leave yourself time to find a spot.
