I've been going to this place for years. Recently this place got new owners and Mia, Kevin and Peter are amazing at what they do. They are fast, efficient and so accommodating with my little nitpicking. I love that this place has reasonable parking. First want to say that Katie is lovely. She has a warm personality and always does her best to fit you into an already busy schedule. Unfortunately, I've had 6 gel manicures at Beyond and all but 1 chipped within the first 4-5 days. But given the friendly service, I became a repeat customer just the same. Fast forward to December 2024. A lot of new staff in salon: maybe new owners too (where is Katie?) I decided to try another gel manicure at Beyond. The technician used a drill to remove gel from prior manicure. This is ok, however, after drilling he proceeded to file each nail bed with a regular nail file for a minimum of 1-2 minutes (although no gel remained-yikes!) and then went on to buff each nail bed for another full minute. Halfway through apt, the gentleman got up and another technician sat down to finish nails. She repeated same process by drilling the nail bed, filing the nail bed, and buffing the nail bed until my nails were wafer thin and translucent. Perhaps she didn't notice how thin they were as she talked on her phone the entire length of apt? I ran out of salon with wafer thin nails. So disappointing at $40 for the gel manicure and a tip for 2 technicians for one not so great manicure : ( Sadly, I will not return. I'm not sure they know what they are doing exactly and the new owners (or temporary owners) are not as friendly. read more

Good experience here. I haven't had a pedicure in a few years and I haven't gone to anywhere outside of organic nail salons in an even longer time. But I was pressed for time, on a budget, and because of covid, the most affordable organic nail salon in my area was closed. I picked this place because of the good google reviews and they didn't disappoint! The owners were friendly and the place looked clean. Tools came out the packages and things seemed to be done right. They checked temperatures and had hand sanitizer and masks on so they made me feel extra secure. Diana did my pedicure and was very friendly. I got a regular pedicure (no add ons or anything) and a brief hot stone massage (more so warm than hot but I'm thinking if I got the hot stone pedicure they would've been hot) was included. Also the brief shoulder massage when my nails were drying was a nice touch. I'd come again for the convenience good service and if I just need to budget. The only reason I won't be a regular is because I'm usually a frequenter of organic salons with 10-free polishes and natural treatments. They were so nice though , I think I'll come every once in a blue moon. read more

WORST ACRYLIC NAILS I have ever gotten. I wanted to go to another salon to have two of my nails fixed but they were booked so I tried this place. To make a long story short, the two nails did not last more than 5 days and popped off randomly. Worse than that I found that when one of them came off my nail was GREEN. (So I guess I'll be making a trip to the dermatologist) THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. Nice people working there but Katie has absolutely no skill when it comes to doing acrylic nails. I went for an arm wax and a manicure & pedicure. I've never waxed there before but the mani pedi is great so I figured why not. Welllllll, I was gravely mistaken. The woman waxing me put all the wax on my arm at the same time without removing any. Therefore when she placed the strips on, they were impossible to remove,since the wax was dry. She pulled and pulled ripping off my skin and pulling me Off the table! I was left with very red skin, pain and a blood clot. I didn't finish the other arm- and when I complained to the manager I didn't even get any type of apology whatsoever. I'm appalled! read more

AWFUL for SNS manicure! SLOW, Overpriced and ruined within ONE day (photo attached). They are also rude when you simply direct them on things that you want - especially if you're like me and have been doing SNS for years and know what your nails need and don't need - for example, mine ALWAYS need a longer acetone soak than usual. When the techs don't listen to me on this (as these people did not), they end up having to do 2-3 rounds of the soak with the tinfoil and it takes FOREVER. I went to get my nails done here before the weekend. I had got acrylic, extensions. Two days later my thumb nail broke. Just completely fell off. So I went in Saturday morning and called beforehand and surprisingly she remembered me. Katie (nail tech) didn't charge me. She said my nails were too long and that's why my nail broke so she cut them. The next day two other nails broke. I am definitely not going back to this place. My nails didn't last 3 days. I had been coming here for over a year but stopped as the quality of service declined. I used to come here for pedicures and sometimes do the mani-pedi deal which they have from Mon-Wed and appreciated both the quality of the mani-pedi as well as the little things like the foot and hand massage etc. Unfortunately, the last few times I was here I noticed that pedicures seem to be more rushed, massages a lot shorter, nail polish applied very hastily almost as if they want you in and out as quickly as possible. I had one occasion where the rolled up paper towel used as a toe separators was not inserted properly and ended up smudging my polish a little while waiting for it to dry. Hence why I no longer come here. read more

I live in Union so we have a whole array of nail salons to choose from. I'm not a snob - I just believe that a place that's going to deal with my body should be hygienic. I'll admit the menu services are pricier than salons from my town, but it's a bargain for Millburn. Their basic manicures and pedicures are done well and last long. I am very particular about my gel manicures and previously drove all the way to Parsippany if I wanted to get it done. Gel manicures are $35 but beware, it depends on who your technician is. I always ask for the same tech, but everyone is so friendly, warm, and welcoming. If you have the time, definitely opt to get even just a 10 minute chair massage - it's the best ! Very nice salon, got a great mani. Very attentive to detail and gives a great hand massage. However, their nail dryers aren't very effective. After two cycles, my nails were still VERY wet.
