The service was okay, but it definitely could have been better. The vibe wasn't great either, and I got a lot of strange looks for no reason. The quality of the haircut was horrible. The first time I went, the barber didn't even speak English, and I wasn't happy with the result--but I decided to give them another chance. That was a big mistake. The second time, the service was slightly better, but the haircut was still terrible. I asked for a taper all around and to cut two inches off. The barber literally cut one side shorter than the other. It looked completely uneven. Overall, this is a terrible place. If you want to get a haircut, you can try it, but I personally do not recommend coming here. read more

Once upon a time I had a barber that I took my sons to. The owner sold the business months ago, and well- I was reluctant to go anywhere. With their hair getting longer and complaining it was in their eyes... Iooked for a place nearby. Found Seven18 on Yelp, and decided to give it a try and so glad I did. Went at the end of the evening with my boys, and was greeted immediately. I thought I saved the name of the barber in my phone- but since I saved it as Seven18- I don't have the name. The barber (if I remember his name will update) was amazing with both my boys, 10 yrs and 5 yrs. So professional and patient. Their haircuts were amazing! Both boys were very happy. Neighborhood dive full of barbers screaming across the shop like 3 year olds. My haircut kept being interrupted by Nick taking lengthy calls. Then out of nowhere, he snuck a $3 "service fee" when I went to pay. It's not so much the $3, it's the principle. That's conniving and unprofessional... I was told the haircut was $30 when I made the appointment. If in fact you charge everyone a "service fee" then tell new customers that upfront. read more

Guy who cut my hair was nice but the haircut just wasn't it. I asked for a fade and I got no fade. I asked for pointy side burns and he pretty much took it off. My tape looks like it's slanted straight down with no curve. This is why I'm iffy trying out new barber shops. read more

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news..I tend yo come to Hollywood to do business or get away. out of all the barbershops I have seen online when I have come into town here seems like a good fit for me. i have been here twice and the first time dude had me right, nice dude even asked about my balding spot from PCOS and worked around it. Friday I left the shop defeated, mainly because I hate to cause problems but the guy who cut my hair messed up my edge pretty bad. after about 30min in the chair and him almost being done he turns me to the mirror and ask how do you like it so far. instantly I could tell my left side burn area was pushed back so far the right was too but not as bad. when I turned I said "aww man yeah no my man that left curve is way to back" once u cut it you cant bring my hair back. maybe make an illusion of a hair line with hair color spray but that shouldnt be the option. I tried to work with him telling him add the spray in to see if its better he did but it still wasnt right. my line was so far back it just would have been a big blob of spray i had a bandana and a hat I was wearing this weekend so I thought Ill just work with what I got because I hate confronting anyone. I would go back but unfortunately I wont use the same barber. He gave me also the excuse "he was trying to find my TRUE hair line, and that he had been doing this for many years". This is where I felt defeated because when it still wasnt right he had all his coworkers staring at us and it seemed uncomfortable because noone suggested or tried to intervene when hearing the conversation.. overall I just wont go to that barber in particular. read more

I got a shape up and was charged $50. I have traveled the country and never paid that much, not even in Los Angeles. I had the WORST barber shop experience going to get my sons hair cut! I said use scissors instead he still uses clippers, I said don't cut too short, he still cuts short, I said stop cutting he keeps cutting. He then had the nerve to say I know exactly what you want, oh your a first time mom huh? What the HELL DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING! And obviously you don't know what I want because you clearly did not listen to a word I said. At the end he then puts GEL in my 17 months old hair. I don't know about you all but I don't use gel on my kid because he's a baby!!! I get home to wash his hair and tried to brush it down but because he used clippers his hair is choppy!!!! Ugh, oh let's not forget to mention that my kid was screaming the ENTIRE time he was in the chair . Can y'all tell I'm upset smh? On a positive note, hair grows back and thank God I'm not getting professional pics done. I would not recommend a small child to get their hair done by Flacko unless you want a very low cut. Otherwise he will assume what you want and do his own thing. Never taking my son there again. For a small child I would recommend paying the extra money and go to cool cuts for kids because they cater to kids and have cool car seats, videos, lollipops and toys. Recently I was able to check out Seven18 Barber Lounge and it was a great experience! It wasn't for me personally, but my uncle lives nearby in an assisted living facility and he needed a haircut. I found them online, searching for barbers in the area, and I called ahead to see if they could fit us in at a certain time. The staff was friendly over the phone and in-person. The interiors are very cool, it's like a local garage meets the barbershop, with a hip lounge vibe. The owner did a great job with the decor and the branding! Danny helped cut my uncle's hair, and he was very attentive and kind. My uncle is mentally challenged, and I felt like the staff here at Seven18 were very compassionate towards him, which was refreshing. Be sure to bring cash or a debit card with you, because you pay the barber directly and l don't think they have a credit card reader. All in all, it was such a pleasant experience at Seven18 Barber Lounge, the staff was friendly, they provided a great haircut for my uncle, and the atmosphere is very hip! I've been seeing my Barber Nick, that currently works here for about 3 1/2 years. Everyone here is good people, treat everyone with respect. They are attentive to the clients every need in a haircut. The barbershop has plenty of seats, televisions, music, and mirrors to keep yourself occupied and updated on your haircut. Very modern looking barbershop, which I personally like. They take appointments preferably, but do walk-ins when possible. I would highly recommend this barbershop to anyone looking for a clean cut that last.
