Sometimes when you visit a coastal Maine town and shop around - the stores all blend together -…read morewith shelves filled with maple syrup, balsam stuffed sachets, blueberry dishes - you get the point. Well - this store sets itself apart in two ways. First - the items you find here - they are unique. Like a cribbage board that keeps track of wins/losses AND highest scoring hands! Or beer cozies made of wood with carved silhouettes of familiar Maine scenes! Or a piece of driftwood that has been altered to be an iPhone charging stand! The second way - and this is the part I kind of want to keep secret - but here I go - sharing!! There is a tiny 8 seat bar in the back corner of this store!! And - ALL of the spirits (wine, beer and liquor) are all Maine made!! There's even a menu section focusing on just cocktails with Allen's Coffee Brandy! Top that off with the fact the store/bar are owned by a wife/husband team! And that the bartender (husband) is verified engaging and if you have enough customers at the bar - he'll play the funnest musical guessing game!!

It was certainly worth a look. We are probably not the target demographic for this place - i.e., we are not likely to spend several hundred dollars or more on an impulse-buy painting. However, I'm sure there are others who are much more serious about collecting. The shop has been here for quite a while, apparently, so they know their business.
