So that's the only thing I wish they mentioned over the phone with me when scheduling our ultrasound appointment. But overall a great experience I will recommend them to anyone who's having a hard time and don't have the budget to go get checked for an ultrasound. They are wonderful! The problem was that the communication from hire up was awful. To be specific to get information from Social Services or the Case Manager (who knew nothing about her case) was like pulling teeth. When I would call to get updates, it could take up to 2 days to get a call back, and when I got an update it was only to find out that they were not telling my mother-in-law what was going on or we got 2 different stories. When we were ready for discharge, it was rushed, supplies were not ordered as we were told they would be and I had to constantly be in communication with the Social Services department to make sure things got done. I actually had to have my daughter go by the next day to pick up supplies that we were going to run out of before Home Health could come to our home. As a first time caregiver dealing with this situation, it was traumatizing.

Heather is very knowledgable, genuine, and kind. She helped my husband and I ease our worries about what to expect during the whole journey and most of all helped us feel empowered and informed to make the best decisions that were right for us. She has solid resources that really helped us learn so much more about the process of pregnancy and preparing for labor. I also really appreciated her guidance on what to expect when communicating with doctors and how to navigate certain topics in order to make better decisions. I ended up going all the way to 42 weeks and Heather was amazing at helping me take it moment by moment, evaluating as we went along to still make the best decisions that felt right to us. When labor finally got going, she was wonderful at helping me feel more grounded and confident as well as being a valuable teammate with my husband. When I had moments of feeling like I wasn't sure if I could keep going, she knew exactly what I needed to help me find strength again. I was able to deliver my baby naturally the way I had wished for and can't thank her enough for her support. I also can't thank her enough for helping me to avoid an episiotomy from the delivering doctor, she's a rockstar of a doula! I highly recommend Heather, she is definitely the person you want advocating for you and on your team through pregnancy, labor and delivery.

Laurie addressed all of my concerns and made sure we had a plan in place if we needed to transfer to the hospital. Both births went very smoothly and both experiences were easily the best of the birth experiences we've had (we have seven children). The second of the two pregnancies had some complications in the third trimester and Laurie and Brittany were knowledgeable and worked with us closely to navigate everything including a hospital admission. I was so thankful to have them with us through that. Overall, I highly recommend Nest Midwifery if you're looking for a home birth midwife.

In another instance, he pulled my post op recovery arm back so far it brought me to tears. Instead of easing up or checking in on how I was doing, he just held the position and waited for me to stop crying. I found his behavior extremely unprofessional and lacking in basic compassion. If you're trying to heal and looking for a place that truly supports recovery, I would not recommend coming here.
