At the time I was told absolutely, she was also trying to sell me a new machine though. Today I carried in the old Singer and felt like I was attacked, because "this is a janome store". Said if it needs parts you have to come up with them. Isn't that what a repair guy does? Had they told me the previous time, no our service guy doesn't work on Singers or if you need something replaced you have to order it ahead of time, I wouldn't have driven over there(There were singers waiting to be picked up the day I dropped off my other machine). But luckily I found someone certified to work on all machines and very knowledgeable. What a shame. It's a nice store with a good selection of fabrics. Unfortunately, I guess I walked in at the wrong time on a bad day.

I made a terrible error in cutting a special quilt for the Maui fire victims on a Sunday. Did the…read moreGoogle search for on line stores that sold the same fabric. Found The Sewing Studio and ordered a yard of the fabric. I called the store on Monday morning to see if I could pay to have the fabric sent overnight so that I could get the quilt top completed. It was donated to our QOV group with the request we help get the three completed and sent back to be quilted. She will then send it on to a quilt store in Maui to be distributed to those in need. They sent it to me overnight and didn't charge me extra. I live in California and won't have the pleasure of visiting their shop but will definitely purchase more fabric on line, without the extra shipping requests. Many, many thanks to the wonderful women who helped me divert a disaster.

Well-stocked in fabrics and crafts. We were able to find most everything we were looking for. The…read moreproblem was with the employees. Not with customer service--the staff were kind and helpful--seemingly with a low regard for the safety and well-being of their customers. Of the four that we saw, three were not wearing masks and were standing around chatting without their masks on. Even when we asked for help, one of the employees kept hers off until we were ready to checkout, then she found it appropriate to put it on. (Could be due to forgetting as it was hanging on her ear, lack of training or not being stressed the importance of mask usage in the workplace). This seems to be an issue; there is no shortage of fabric in the store, yet most of the employees are not able to place a small piece of fabric on their face even when interacting with customers. We will probably do most of our shopping online from now on as we did not feel comfortable in our interactions with the Jo-Ann team, and craft supplies are cheaper on Amazon anyways.

My stepmother bought several machines and had one drop shipped to me. The package came in damaged…read more I filed a claim to UPS, and they picked up the package the following day. The shipper (Patches and Scraps) is responsible for claims and communication and I had to step in 99.9% of the time, calling UPS for status, and they said they would contact the shipper. I have multiple recordings where UPS said they spoke to P&S and P&S claims they did not. Spoke to them several weeks ago about a refund, and they claimed they would have to charge a 20% restocking fee, though it was all their responsibility. P&S failed to insure the package so beware of if your package is damaged, you will be liable. Now pushing 6 weeks since the original delivery, I contacted April with P&S, and she said UPS told her to hold the package. So, I contacted UPS and 3-way called P&S and told them that and April, the manager was with a customer, and they said she would not be able to take the call even if we waited (dodging the call). They were informed the claim was denied. I feel they are hiding the machine or have resold it, as they will not send the equipment back for me to have repaired and refused a refund. The next actions will be filing a small claim against the company for a full refund and any expenses accrued as I have phone recordings with both UPS and P&S of their statuses.

Other than that there is a weekly coupon code that can be found on the website and gives a 40% discount for any single item that is not on sale, and this is best used for furniture items that are usually 30% off, so they add the 10% off if you provided the coupon code for the week. The items in the store could be mostly unique and can not be usually found on the shelves of Walmart or Target or other stores, and this is what I like about it. Price wise you could find some great finds and some others are alright. I highly recommend this store, it stands as a good choice for shopping for your home interior and exterior as well.
