She even helped me with an outside project on a day of pure stress and desperation. I wouldn't have "MADE" it without her. Rachel was in and out, and it was lovely to talk to her about her new non-profit initiative as well as to hear her passion for sewing cool things. There is also a previously loved section of fabrics and myriad sewing related delights which have all been donated. It's worth a look for some hidden gems. What Cut & Sew is IMO is a learning center. There are several sewing machines set up in the front room and a longarm in the back. The studio's goal is making sewing accessible to everyone - there are multiple classes, summer camps, after school programs to make this possible for any one, any age. After taking a course on longarm basics, you will be able to rent time on the same longarm to finish your quilts. This is not a destination shop for me but if I'm in the area and they are open, I do stop in to browse the previously loved section (or drop off donations). If I lived in the neighborhood and had kids who could take advantage of her offerings, I would definitely do so.

That refund should have been issued when I first contacted you--not after my husband had to intervene. The refund doesn't change my experience. It confirms it. Craig & Laura, It's astonishing that I had to involve my husband--who is also an attorney--just to get you to agree to refund a simple $36 knitting lesson. That says far more about your customer service than it does about me. The real irony is that none of this was ever about a hug. It was about the one-on-one knitting lesson I paid for and did not receive. Instead of addressing that legitimate concern, you chose to manufacture an entirely different controversy. You created every bit of this unnecessary drama--not me. Had you simply listened, acknowledged my concern, and handled it professionally from the start, this review would never have existed. Reputation platforms exist for exactly this reason: so prospective customers can see how businesses respond when something goes wrong. If Jason truly had an issue with a goodbye or thank-you hug, why was it never mentioned during the year and a half I took lessons with him? The irony is that I was the one who brought it up--not Jason, not Craig, not Laura. I mentioned it only because Jason's behavior during my last lesson in June, was so unusually cold and distant that I was trying to understand what had changed. Instead of addressing my actual concern--that I didn't receive the lesson I paid for--CRAIG made the hug the issue. Frankly, asking me to return to the shop to collect my refund after everything that has transpired is incredibly tone-deaf. I came to you with a legitimate concern about the quality of a paid lesson. Instead of discussing that concern, you turned the conversation into a circus over a goodbye hug I had given Jason after a previous lesson simply to thank him for his help. In previous lessons, Jason sat with me, helped me understand patterns, answered my questions, and provided the one-on-one instruction I had paid for. During my last lesson, however, much of the time was spent straightening shelves and putting away yarn while I repeatedly had to call him over for help. That was my concern. I mentioned the hug only because I was trying to understand Jason's sudden change in demeanor. If it had truly been an issue, why had it never been mentioned during any of my previous lessons? I contacted the owners because I believed I had not received the lesson I paid for and requested a refund. Instead of addressing that concern, the conversation became about Loop being "a place of business" and why employees shouldn't be hugged. The quality of my lesson was never meaningfully discussed. My original concern was never addressed. Unfortunately, the owners' handling of a straightforward customer concern overshadowed what had otherwise been positive experiences. It's also worth mentioning that much of the exact same yarn sold at Loop can be purchased at other local yarn shops for substantially less. I used to live in the area and loved Loop. As a crocheter, I'm losing interest fast! Yes they offer…read morecrochet classes but the projects are what my granny would make for me and boring compared to the knitting classes. Also, their Loop brand of yarns only tells you the size knitting needles to use & doesn't include the crochet hook size. When you ask staff what size hook they just look blankly. Finally: If I get one more email (which I'm about to delete off my list) about all the knitting projects you can use their yarn for I'm gonna scream! I'm over loop & would rather give my money to an all inclusive yarn store.

I had so much fun that this year I want to see if they have something else I can learn! The instructor was very patient with us and explained everything perfectly. I learned how to make screen prints using freezer paper or drawing fluid and screen filler (we did not do photo emulsion). I wish I brought more T-shirt's instead of doing a bunch on paper so learn from my mistake. This is a great experience and I highly recommend it!

I called the Art Center in Fairmount (it was only one location at that point) and spoke to Ms. Jill, explained that my daughter was a new 4 and I was concerned about leaving her. She nicely told me get over it and I would be fine (of course she didn't say that), she reassured me that she would be safe and have fun..after the first class, my daughter was hooked; it doesn't hurt that they get to color on the mirrors in the studio. Throughout the years my daughter has taken numerous classes at the Fairmount and Queen Village Centers, in addition to "Date Night", which you drop your child off for a couple hours and pick them up, I believe around 10pm; they feed them, they go to the gym, and of course do art. Not only are they doing art, the children learn about artists and how and why things are done. I believe the regular classes were about 90 minutes for children. There are general art classes but most of them have a theme or time period that they focus on; one of her favorite classes was pottery. Numerous adult classes and birthday parties are also offered. Recently my daughter started back at the Art Center for drop-in camp. Seeing Ms. Jill for the first time in years was the highlight of our day. While she is the owner, she is fully invested in the children and it shows by how much my daughter loves her! For camp, the campers get creative so it is recommended your child comes in play clothes and sneakers because the do go to the park; before-care and after-care is available. Over the years, due to scheduling conflicts we were unable to attend regularly, but anytime I hear someone talk about their children loving art, I always recommended the Art Center! Ms. Jill and her staff are amazing, now with an addition location in Cherry Hill, NJ! You go girl!!!
