The alterations were poorly done. I know the satin material of the dress is not the easiest to work with but you would think with 30+ years of experience it wouldn't be a problem. I was also charged more for the alterations than I paid for the dress and I am going to have to take it somewhere else because it is still too big. read more

I don't even know what to say. I brought in an expensive dress--a Selkie gown, so $300+ of dress. I had saved for it for months, and although I sew, since it was such a special gown when it arrived needing some minor alterations, I brought it in to a 'professional' to be tailored. They only needed to add two small darts to the bodice and shorten the straps...pretty much the easiest fixes you can do on a dress. And, to boot, the dress is made of COTTON, which is the easiest fabric to work on. When I got the dress back, I was devastated. It looked like they had handed it to someone who had never even seen a sewing machine before. There was visible, messy stitching every place they had made a repair...and worse, they were so aggressive with the needle that they TORE through the fabric where the strap attached to the dress. It didn't even last through the wedding I bought it for before tearing completely, and it was embarrassing to wear something that ended up looking so shabby. I was told the owner would call me to try and fix things...but no call ever came. And when I asked the woman at the front desk what had happened, she said they had hired new people and "no one wants to learn"...so they *had* taken a $300 ball gown and handed it to a complete novice, who then ruined it. I wouldn't use this place if you're at all attached to whatever it is you're trying to fix, and *especially* not for heirlooms. It very well might come back completely ruined, and they'll just look at you and shrug. read more

We are not from the area, but our toddler son's favorite stuffed toy tore while we were visiting family in Hanover and he was very concerned. 16 minutes ago I had a dress altered that I wanted the waistline to be an empire waist. My dress had multiple pleats along the front. Also wanted the top taken in as it was too big which meant reinstalling the zipper. Price reflected the quality. I could not be any happier. Dress fits like a dream. Perfect alteration. Do not go here! I'm in a wedding party and all of the bridesmaids went here to get measured. All of our dresses were measured way too big. A solid 3-4 inches bigger. Luckily some of the dresses could be fixed, but not all. To top it off they ruined the bride's dress! They altered it from the bottom to the top so it raised the dress at her bust. Also, they hemmed the bottom too much so it was to short. It was also not hemmed straight so the dress was longer on one side and shorter on the other. In addition, they altered the dress so many times the delicate fabric lost its integrity. Needless to say, the bride ended up having to buy a completely new gown 3 weeks before her wedding!! To save yourself the stress and money do not go here for alteration services. read more
