I called Mr. Rooter of Fulton to fix the problem Tuesday morning. With-in an hour, a plumber is there. The plumber calls me an hour after and told me that the problem is that he needed to snake the pipe. Before snaking the pipe, he had to unscrew tiles to get to the pipe. He asked for my payment information and I gave it to him (too trusting of an idiot that I am) without asking him for the price. After giving him the payment info, I asked him for the price. I was not provided with an estimate of the cost of the job before he started work. The bill came out to be $322.49 after tax for ONE HOUR's worth of work. I emailed and called Peter (the owner) and had no success in speaking with him directly. I was offered a $25 discount for the next job from one his employee that snaked the pipe.

Took Phil just over an hour to clear the clog. He gave me the option to have him stop or continue and snake and clean out all the issues in the sewer line. Phil expressed how bad the sewer condition was in as we didn't think it was ever cleaned in the 97 years our home has been here. Decided to have him continue cleaning the line and then flush it for one final step to remove all the residue. Excellent work and would highly recommend.

He proceeded to charge ~$2300 for leak repairs, excluding drywall, which included replacing ~1.5 ft PVC fittings and pretty minimal copper fixes (which he had to bring in another plumber to fix). When I asked for itemized receipt I was given one that didn't include all payments so he had to spend a half an hour making a new receipt fudging numbers to make up the full cost of what he charged me. Actual itemized receipt is incredibly vague and now home warranty company is refusing to pay because what he charged is simply unreasonable. I recommend going with a more experienced contractor. If I had the time I could have fixed what they did for less than $300.

They charged me $172 for a service call that did not help solve my problem, broke a valve that was not involved with the problem, and did not even give me a follow up call, as I requested. They sent a worker to investigate a shower leak who was unable to help in any way. He took apart the shower's temperature control valve and was unable to reassemble it correctly. Since he never tested it, I didn't know until later that he had broken it. When he left, I asked that the worker to discuss the original issue with his boss, who he said was more experienced, and give me a call. After a few days, I had discovered that the valve he worked on was not working and I had not gotten a call yet, so called to explain both problems. The lady who answered said she knew that the worker had discussed it with the boss and would remind him to call me. A week later I tried to call again, but the shop was closed for vacation. After another week, I tried again and finally got the boss. He apologized for the problem and seemed to vaguely remember the case, but did not offer to reduce the bill.
