Ramona with Imogene's had my dress for nearly 6 weeks and called me early this morning with questions on what exactly I wanted done (after having it for 6 weeks she called today, and my wedding is 9 days away). The alterations were fairly simple, I went and saw her after the phone call and then picked my dress up a few hours later. My dress looked like they'd been carrying it around in the trunk of a car for 6 weeks and there was purple marker ALL over my dress. When we inquired about the maker she responded with, "it's fabric marker it will come right off with water". I left her shop and immediately went to my dry cleaners...I am beyond disappointed with this place. Horrible service, no apologies or offer to make it right from Ramona.... I'm now getting married in 9 days and can only say a prayer that my dress will come back from the cleaners in good enough shape for me to wear it.

This store was everything and nothing like I expected. They seemed to have odd hours. With odds and ends tucked in every corner, and rooms that look like you shouldn't go in but can and are filled with antiques of all different varieties. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the chaos that is The Olde General Store. It was neat to look around though and see all the offerings. I loved some of the old farm tools and wished I was more artsy to create some neat repurposed projects but alas walked out with my bank account still intact.

It was not what I expected after the email communication. The employee helping us didn't even speak to my daughter. She showed us their selection in our size and left us to our own other than putting the dresses up when they didn't work. Another customer came in and was immediately greeted with more enthusiasm and personal attention. My daughter has Down syndrome but she expected and deserved the same attention and experience as any other customer. I left the store and cried outside the car while calling another shop to see what other options we had. My daughter found her perfect dress at a much better shop that showed she was valued and appreciated as a customer. Selection was nice, that's about it.
