I called and spoke with someone about services. I went up there and spoke with a gentleman today(with a mouth full of gold, I think it was gold), and he gave me a different quote then what was given over the phone. I asked for an invoice estimate, he was hesitant about giving it to me. The estimat cost he gave was $800, with a year warranty. I asked if I could have my old converters, he rudely said no! Got new headers for my car and was super excited, got the estimate for $400 and so I came back to get the job done and this is how the conversation went after Guy: how much did I say the job was Me: $400 Guy: there is no f'ing way I would said that it is going to be $550 I was just shocked and just completely feel scammed out of $150 when I was already told one thing. I know my friend said something similar happened to him when he went to put cherry bombs on the car. But that's for him to write. Word of advice is just get them to write down and prove what they said before they do the job. Because they are going to say something later after the job is already done and they are most likely going to charge you more for putting the original part back on because of it. Literally more than tripled in prices since I last came... charge me $80 to straight pipe... I normally get charged $25. I've had them do three vehicles already. My Ford Mustang, Acura TL, and Dodge Challenger. I was very surprised when he said $80 once it was finally completed. Especially after he has a high school graduate taking his time on my vehicle asking how and where to cut & where to weld.... I was the only customer there and was still there for an hour and 15 minutes. I'll go to Brown's Muffler next time. read more

I called went and got an estimate on a Sat he was very nice and straight to the point. Brought my car back the next Friday. I was treated by the workers there very nice n friendly. They went straight to working on my car. I was done in 45 min. None of that other stuff like trying to sell you other promotions. They do other work as well. Went here to get an exhaust leak fixed. I had others advice against it but after seeing no bad reviews I said what the hell and gave it a try. Service was prompt and nice. I paid my $40 bill and left. Minutes later my car lost power and was running awful. I took it to another shop and they said, " Who did this?" Come to find out they had damaged my car. Another $50 and an hour later my car was back running right. I should have listened when I was told "Bubba" didnt know what he was doing. Save yourself some time and money and go to Browns on W. Blue Ridge. The man at Browns told me the majority of his business came from Bubba at Sexton's screw ups. read more

Went here for a dual exhaust conversion for my V6 Mustang. I already had the mufflers and some sections of pipe off an identical car. I don't own a lift, so coming to a shop seemed easier. So I thought. Very rude and unprofessional staff. Told me it was impossible. They told me I'd have to cut metal and tear my bumper off to make it fit. They told me there was no way of hanging the driver side. No mounts. They told me I'd lose all my back pressure. They told me I'd lose horsepower and torque. They told me it would sound like s***. They told me I couldn't run the pipe next to a fuel line... The "fuel line" was the filler hose and it's in the exact same spot as the GT and the GT runs a pipe right there. They swore and used racial slurs very loudly the whole time I was there. I'm guessing grade school was the highest form of education anyone working there has had. I got them to weld one muffler on the passenger side. The welds were sloppy. (As of me writing this, the hanger weld already broke and I had to fix it) So guess what, I took my car back home and I got to work with my jack stands and a welder. It took some time, but guess what... I did it. Didn't have to cut any part of the car. I made a small cut in the bumper so the tail pipe could come out. The base model is the exact same body as the GT, so all the mounting holes were present. Not having a tubing bender proved difficult. But cutting and welding different angles worked out fine. I didn't lose any back pressure, the X pipe improved scavenging and actually increased my low end torque. Slight HP increase too, 5ish HP, if I'm being modest. It sounds great too. Good low rumble at idle. Deep growl taking off. It's no V8, but for a sixer, I'd say I did pretty good. Maybe if I let Sexton's do it, it probably would have sounded like s***. read more

Brilliant. I pulled right up with my muffler strung up in by bungee cords, bouncing around underneath my car (it had just rusted and fallen out from the bottom). They fixed it immediately and were very gracious. Fifteen minutes and $20 and I drove right on my way. So grateful. read more

I was referred to Sexton's for a simple catalytic converter changeout. I had to wait for a bay to open up but as soon as one did, they jumped right on it. You will not pay for a fancy waiting room, coffee station and TV with the sports channel, rather you will receive quality, lickity split service from down home guys and they will not charge you some fixed rate to do a job. I bet I spent 40 minutes in there and it was a refreshing trip down memory lane when I used to hang out at the local filling stations growing up in Seneca back in the 70"s. read more

This place promised me they could fix my exhaust pipe giving several options. They NEVER followed through on any OF THEM!!! They failed to honor several promise dates. I checked with them on several occasions regarding progress and if they were going to be able to fix the pipe as they promised, which they assured they would. TODAY 12 days later i picked up my original exhaust pipe in the same shape it was when I originally left it. Lesson learned NEVER will I do any business with Sexton Muffler shop again!!! read more

Two years ago I bought a car from these people for $ 2500. The owner assured me that the car was fully functional. On a handshake, we left with the car (never do that again!). After another $3000, the car was then fit to drive. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!! read more
