So I listened to him basically brag about all his life's accomplishments, for an hour, after finally getting his recommendations and leaving, he was supposed to call in my medications that I've been on for years, none were called in. The next day I received a notice in the mail being dismissed as a patient. After paying a 150.00. So apparently this medical center has no clue how to treat high bp, and basically are known in the community for overprescribing Xanax to most of the Seymour community! Do not go here!!!!!! Dr Jerden sat down with me and spent time talking about my health issues. He looked at my medical information and suggested some things to do to improve my quality of life. He realized that I had been given the wrong sort of medication by my previous doctor and recommended a new prescription that would take care of the problem without the side effects. I found him to be personable and engaging and am recommending him to all my friends and acquaintances looking for a good doctor.

There is a nurse named David who wasnt nice and seems to have some kind of agenda to push covid testing and when declined he will treat you poorly. Made a huge deal about me declining covid testing for my young son who i brought in for something completely unrelated to covid and its symptoms. David was pushy and rude about testing for covid. I declined 3 times and he finally says in a sarcastic tone "you CAN decline testing if you want....". I declined a 4th time to finally shut him up. If any supervisors are reading, please retrain your nurse David to have better bedside manner. Its not a personal choice for anyone anymore when someone like him is aggressively pushing it even after we decline several times. It becomes forced and that should be illegal because no one should be forced to perform a medical procedure if they already decline.

I live in south Knoxville and thought the Southern Medical Group would be great. Speaking with a lady over the phone last week, she took medical information for both my husband and myself, asking about medication and health issues. She said she would submit our information to Dr. Jeffrey Robinson and someone would get back with me soon. Today I received a phone call saying that Dr. Robinson had accepted me as a new patient and a "new patient" packet would be mailed to me. I asked about my husband, she said "there's a problem". She said Dr. Robinson had rejected my husband and would not accept my husband as a new patient. I told them not to send me a packet if they were refusing to treat my husband. I can only assume that Dr. Robinson didn't want to treat my husband since he has some health issues in the past. THEN today...... I go to my mailbox and receive a post card that says.... "Southern Medical Group offers primary care in South Knoxville". I guess Southern Medical Group will accept new patients as long as they have no health issues.

I was told that my information would be given to Dr. Jeffrey Roberts and I would receive a phone call in a day or two to schedule an appointment. Three weeks and five phone calls later still no word. I've had to leave my name and number every time I called. At one point I was told I would be called right back and that never happened. I found another doctor and already have an appointment scheduled just a few days away at a different office. I can only imagine how much effort would be put into my screenings or treatments since they haven't put any effort into calling me back. I feel that this place does not care about "health care" because of the fact that no one has called me back.
