Guitar came back playing much better and fret dents completely gone. High E string didn't sound right though, had sitar like sound I was surprised they didn't hear on the final inspection. It was too far a drive to bring it back but a little research told me the bridge point was probably a little flat and that I could file a sharper point on it and it might fix it. It did fix it. I brought another guitar in as well and they fixed everything wrong and even found a couple additional things which they fixed at no additional charge. read more

I have a pretty nice guitar that I haven't touched in years due to being busy. The main issue was the bridge of the guitar being lifted due to an improper restringing attempt. Brought it in to Jeremy and was in and out the door in about 30 minutes. He cleaned my guitar, re-stringed it, and made some optimizations to get the best playability. Overall, it was a really solid experience. My guitar feels and sounds really good. It was also cheaper than I thought it would be. I contacted Jeremy through Yelp to see about swapping out the pickups on my telecaster. His response was quick and we easily set up a time for me to stop by. When I arrived, Jeremy asked me how much time I had and said that if I wanted to wait, he could have the job done in about 45 minutes. Sure enough, about 45 minutes later and after some engaging conversation about the history of Fender, Gibson, and my entry into the world of electric guitars (I'm a classical guitarist!), Jeremy had my guitar ready to go. He switched out the pick ups, changed the strings, and adjusted the nut for the new flatwounds I had brought. He also helped me figure out that the wound third string would be better off as a plain. I switched it out a few days later and now the guitar plays beautifully. Jeremy was the consummate professional, treating me with respect, doing great work, and charging what I thought was a very fair price. I have been working with SF Guitar tech for about 6 years now and he is amazing! Jeremy has worked on all my guitars! Everything from a $500 acoustic to Gibson Les Paul Custom. He has done pickup replacements in many guitars including wiring Fishman Modern actives as well adding boost gain preamps. Jeremy as well has fast turnaround times which is rare in this industry, usually same day! He is proficient in all kinds of bridges including evertune bridges and Shaller. A quick pit stop to Jeremy's and my Les Paul is once again right as rain. I wouldn't dare say this story is possible all the time, however... Last week I found myself with a free afternoon and decided I could put up with my clothesline-high action no more. I discovered SF Guitar Tech (and thus Jeremey) via some online reviews and reached out. I was prepared to do without my guitar for whatever duration was required (likely a week, I thought). As luck would have it, we were able to quickly schedule my same-day drop-off (even THAT felt like a win). But when I got to the shop, Jeremey was finishing what looked to me like gluing an entire acoustic guitar body back together. Again, fate was on my side, for as he carefully set the final clamp, and placed the guitar out of the way for the glue to dry, he suddenly had time to not only examine my truss rod, bridge, etc., but to actually set up the guitar while I waited, and at what I felt was a fair price. Again, I don't think Jeremey--or anyone--actually offers same day guitar service, but this didn't seem like a unique event either. I was out the door and back home in about an hour. Do I endorse/recommend SF Guitar Tech? 100%. Will I be back again? Absolutely. Will I get better about procrastination? Someday, but that's on me. read more

Jeremy set up my new Fender Jaguar by adjusting the neck angle and restringing it with a hybrid set of cobalt slinky strings. He also sanded down the neck to give a satin finish. I called Jeremy with an urgent need for fret and nut installation on a custom bass guitar that I built. The challenge was that this guitar is gilded in 24K gold leaf, which presents a number of challenges. I needed it done by Friday because the artist wants it for his show on Saturday. My very pleasant and easy call with Jeremy followed a frustrating series of queries to other repair shops, one of which even told me: "I'm an artist, I cannot work on a timeline" and then hung up on me. Sheesh, sorry I asked for a one-week turnaround! But I'm very happy that I found Jeremy. He immediately took on the project and charged me a very reasonable amount considering that this is rush service. He had the frets and nut installed (and even additionally installed the string retainer) inside of 12 hours between drop-off and pickup. This is amazing and is more than I asked for-- or paid for. When I showed up and asked if I owed him anything extra for the extremely fast service, he just laughed. That is the definition of five-star service. I had 3 instruments in need of repair/setup. An 89' American Strat Standard Deluxe, 87' MIK Squire Bullet Bass, and a brand new online order Squire Affinity Telecaster Deluxe. Jeremy was accommodating and got everything done in just over an hour while I waited! The US Strat, which is like a child to me, was setup and adjusted. Frets are wonderful now, and the string recommendation from Jeremy makes this thing feel sooooo good now! My MIK bass was strung with some flats Jeremy recommended and setup. Plays and sounds great! I had purchased my guitar in "as is" condition. The previous owner had installed a "Kill Switch" tone pot and it had broken free from the guitar and wires were loose. I've had three guitars worked on by Jeremy, and he did an amazing job with each. The first two were a Schecter 7-string and B.C. Rich Warlock that had both not been touched since the early 00s and no longer outputted sound. I had brought them to him to repair with the intent to sell each. He did such a good job on both I actually ended up keeping the Warlock because of how much life he put back into it. More recently, he gave my Epiphone Sheraton II a full clean and setup in such a way that it feels like I'm playing a new, better guitar.
